sketch idea

So I was in the airplane getting back from Phoenix earlier last week and flipping through the in-flight magazine I saw this Amish mantle and fireplace...they call it a miracle invention. It says it looks just like a real fireplace, but it looks like a picture of a fireplace up on a mantle. I was chuckling in my seat thinking this could be one of those great ads/commercials that they do on SNL...

Writers Need Credit

SNL has what is absolutely one of its most talented casts ever in the 2009-2010 season. Add to that, some of the best writers on television. While the cast gets attention and recognition for a sketch that goes over well and becomes a viral hit, the writers are never mentioned. This seems to me unfair as people realize SNL would be dead without the writers. It is fascinating how the cast works close with the writers and the way they will often pair up such as McKay and Ferrell or Downey writing for MacDonald's Weekend Update.

What I would request is that at the opening of a sketch, in the lower left or right corner of the screen, a writing credit and sketch title be given so those of us who have grown up watching SNL and see it as a great constant in television (and nearly the only constant NBC has) will be able to further appreciate the show. We will be able to develop preferences in writers just as we do in cast members. It will make the audience a better informed audience. That is all.
