Van Loo began her love for acrobatic gymnastics in New Orleans at age eight after her parents took her to an exhibition by a Soviet acrobat and his partner. She instantly fell in love with the sport that merges art with athleticism. After a rigorous training program of three hours of acrobatics and three hours of dance daily, Van Loo became a seven-time National Champion, Female Olympic Athlete of the Year, and Athlete of the Decade. She was inducted into the USSA (acro-gymnastics) Hall of Fame and the World Acrobatics Society Gallery of Honor as acrobatic legend.

After retiring from competition, Van Loo spent five years teaching acrobatics, gymnastics, and dance. However she missed performing in front of live audiences. Van Loo then decided to audition for Cirque du Soleil and two weeks later was invited to join Cirque. This sparked the beginning of a career as a professional aerialist and acrobat. Van Loo then became a professional aerialist and acrobat, performing at such venues as the 2002 Winter Olympics, the “Grammy Awards” with No Doubt and Ricky Martin, the “American Music Awards” with Aerosmith, the “Miss Universe” pageant, and Paul McCartney's European tour, as well as several feature films, television shows and music videos. Van Loo also has choreographed the aerial gymnastics moves for Britney Spears World Tour and the Stars on Ice U.S. tour.

Van Loo currently lives in Los Angeles where she produces live shows, teaches workshops and has created a series of instructional videos called “Secrets of the Circus Revealed.” For more information please visit www.SecretsOfTheCircus.com.
