I work near the National Building Museum, the site for tonight's live broadcast, so I walked over there this afternoon to see if anything was going on. The building was open so I went in and they were rehearsing for tonight's show. Someone was standing in for the host and they had people standing in for all of the contestants with pictures and names around their necks. The backdrop is a 15-star US flag (I think that's how many stars their were when Key wrote the "Star Spangled Banner").
As they were running the script over the teleprompters, I got to see the questions they will be asking different contestants. Then they got to the part where they reference the winners and the script just said <name> in place of the winners' names. But then they started replacing the placeholders with actual names. I won't say whose names they put in because that wouldn't be right. Of course, there's no guarantee that they won't go back and change them again later. What they didn't put in the script while I was there was the actual dollar amount of the grand prize. I guess they don't want to telegraph that to the other people on stage before the host reads it. I also got to see the name of the winner of the smaller treasure hunt they were doing with the weekly $10k winners. They'll seat that winner next to the Genworth guy and use that as an intro for a plug for Genworth (e.g. <Name>, you should thank the gentleman next to you. He's so and so from Genworth Financial. Genworth Financial is a blah blah blah."). Pretty fun stuff to watch! |

Interesting stuff. Get ready for a barrage of questions from the folks on this board. Interesting stuff indeed. And here's one of the questions to start the "barrage of questions": Approximately how large was that flag you saw with the 15 stars? -------------------- The greatest compliment ever received: "You make me think."

It's very large...maybe 30 feet on the long side...and hanging sideways from the ceiling of the museum behind the stage...star field in the upper left corner. |

Could it possibly be the ORIGINAL SSB with the 15th star re-attached? That would be so great!!!! I can't wait for tonight's show. You east coasters, please try to refrain from giving out the answers to all our questions until after we west coasters see the show. Thanks everybody. -------------------- The greatest compliment ever received: "You make me think."

Are the questions from the host or from us here on the boards? Because people are still posting their questions here.

Not to ruin the party, but this flag looked new. Doesn't ruin the party at all. Thanks for answering the questions. -------------------- The greatest compliment ever received: "You make me think."

You east coasters, please try to refrain from giving out the answers to all our questions until after we west coasters see the show. Thanks everybody. Seriously, that's never going to happen. I suggest you refrain from using the boards once the show starts on the east coast, if you really don't want to be spoiled. |

That's what I'm going to do. Stay away from the boards until after the Finale. 'Course I am 6 hours behind so I have to wait LONG. |

I won't be able to stay away from this board. Oh well, no surprises....but plenty of fun on the board, no doubt!! -------------------- The greatest compliment ever received: "You make me think."

Are the questions from the host or from us here on the boards? Because people are still posting their questions here. I couldn't tell where the questions came from. They may have just been fillers for rehearsal purposes. The questions I saw were for the Miss USA folks (What was the most exciting part of the hunt?) and for the Wild Hanlons (They asked what a phrase they kept using means). |

Is there going to be a live audience kind of thing? There was seating for a small live audience. The lower-right part of the audience (looking from the stage) was all reserved seating with names on the seats. I think some of the reserved seats in the audience might be for the other contestants from the smaller hunt competition they did in DC with the weekly $10k winners. |

Well, my friends, the time grows closer. We don't have long to wait now. This day has passed so slooooooooooowly. |
