Alright, Josh and Donna are a horrible couple.
First of all, Donna is more like Josh's sister. The one he never had. She stuck by him the entire time, had the friendly, younger sister back and forth with him. He protected her like an older brother would. He gave hell to all her boyfriends. She teased him about all his girlfriends. No matter what has happened they've always been able to count on each other, like siblings. Now Josh and Amy. Perfect couple. It was great watching these two characters interact on so many different levels. It was great seeing them in the office togethor. Josh was like a frat boy playing tricks on a girl he liked. They're both passionate and dedicated. Donna is too wishy washy for Josh. Josh had to chase Amy, and it was an ongoing thing. Josh and Amy is how it should end up. |

No amen from here. I find Amy the least interesting character on the show.
Donna and Josh have been in love since she showed up....they just didn't know it. I for one was aghast when she disappeared for a few episodes...I thought sure she had been written out. |

I agree with you 100%. Anyway, Amy has always had her own agenda, although I've never been able to figure out what it was. Donna has been there for Josh through thick and thin. In "20 Hours in America", Bartlet makes the comment, "Thank God Donna's with them." (knowing that she would get them home). When shots were fired through the press room windows, Donna called the shrink in case Josh needed to talk to him. When Josh was shot in "...Two Gunmen", Donna was back and forth from the office, making sure he was kept up to date.

Amen - it's totally out of character for Josh. I loved WW, but putting these two together is an example of how the writing deteriorated, in my opinion.

I'm with you here. I always thought of Josh and Donna as brother and sister characters. However, I couldn't help but jump out of my seat and scream in excitement for about ten minutes when Josh and Donna kissed. I think Amy and Josh had a much more playful cat and mouse dynamic. Josh with Donna... i don't know, of course they understand each other and love each other... we'll see how it plays out romantically.

I'm not sure yet if I like the Josh/Donna relationship, but I can say that I absolutely could not stand Amy. I just thought she was a boring character that was forced into the storylines every time she was on the screen.

I love Josh with Donna. They were always meant to be together. They just didn't know it. Now they do and I'm positive they will come back from their vacation announcing their relationship if not an engagement.

I agree. Josh and Donna belong together. It would be great if they came back announced their engagement and the series ended with their wedding.

uh... where have you been? Josh and Donna's chemistry has been wonderful. I hated the beginning of season 7 because there was no Donna. I hate the fact that they are canceling my favorite show, but I am extremely happy they did provide some closure to this story line.

I agree in that I am not quite sure what I feel about Josh and Donna. What really annoys me is how Donna suddenly became a genius. What happened to ditzy Donna? That is the Josh and Donna I liked. However, I think that Amy and Josh are soul mates. They connect on a much deeper level. I also think Amy makes Josh happier. However, I think Donna loves Josh more. I want the show to go back to the way it was seasons one through four.

katyj: Um, I must have been watching a completely different show? Amy and Josh soulmates? Amy making Josh happier? I don't think so.
If you really watched Seasons 1-4 you would see the chemistry between Josh and Donna. I think the episode where its most obvious is Inuguration II. But there are numerous examples. |

k, this episode convinced me that Josh and Donna are just so unbearably awkward as a couple... i liked them so much better before. i just don't think i can take donna seriously anymore... i mean, come on! "who said anything about talking?" - could have had a more creative line. I donno, everytime they kiss it is just so awkward.

Josh and Donna are more like brother and sister? Do you pay attention when you watch the show? Hello, they've been attracted to each other and destined to end up together for most of the series! Amy and Josh had a similar passion for politics but they never really did it for me, or obviously for most of the other viewers, who seem just as thrilled as I am to see Donna and Josh finally together. Thank God they're ending the series on a good note.

I have to disagree with you, PressMan. I, personally, thought that Amy was too condescending and I think that a Josh and Donna relationship has been set up throughout the show. To showcase my point:
Season 1: "In Excelcius Deo" - Josh gives Donna the skiing book (I apologize for not having the name) and writes the touching note inside. See emotional reactions. Season 2: Oh, so many! See "ITSOTG" and "17 People" specifically. "If you were in an accident, I wouldn't stop for red lights." Season 3: I honestly haven't reviewed S3 much, as I don't own the DVD, but I do remember "War Crimes" having some moments. S4: See "Commencement" for Amy and Donna's conversation about Josh. It certainly reveals a lot. S5 & 6: Gaza, my dear friend. Gaza. I think Josh and Donna's attraction has been there throughout the series. I really was annoyed by Amy, on the contrary, and was glad to see her go. |

The awkwardness between Josh and Donna is perfect.... these comments prove it . They have been totally comfortable for 6 seasons, now they come off like hesitant teenagers...pretty good acting I'd say.. in real life there would be the same kind of tense energy most times at the beginning, been there and done that.
Plus, Josh is a snob, and Donna is a college dropout... She was his assistant, and he discounted her smarts....He wouldn't even give her a jb on the campaign...But after seeing her work on the race, he saw her jamming, now she is legitimate in his eyes...ANd she is emboldened too, ten times more confident due to jon offer, etc... And lastly, the scene in last episode where she tells him he has four weeks...Was the smoldering vixen side we never got to see, because mostly she had trouble dating... Wow....new to this message board thing, this is just a tv show, right? |

Come on. Josh and Donna has been leading up for such a long time. This will go down in history with other love affairs that took a long time to come to pass. Sam and Diane (cheers) Tony and Angela ( Who's the boss) Ross and Racheal (friends)Jonie and Chachi (happy days) boy am I old . I digress. Yes Amy is probabbly Josh's intellectual equal but Josh and Donna are defenitly soul mates. Any way Amy is busy selling pot on showtime.
Speaking of showtime I think a good move for WW would be a move to cable where the season would not be interupted by re-runs or a mid season hiatus like WW did this year. show like Weeds , The Barbershop , and the Shield to name a few stay fresh because all 15-20 episodes are shown back to back. Also if the show needs more time for the writting to get better the show could be delayed like the sopranos. oh well i'll keep writing any one who will listen until WW is no more for good. |

I would have to disagree. Josh and Donna make a great couple. Finally after years of promise and understory, the writers have fulfill their promise!! Keep it going.
By the way, Josh did have a sister. She died in a house fire. |

I despise Amy. She doesn't deserve to be with ANY of the West Wing characters - not even Hoynes - HA!. Everything she says has this disdainful tone, and that gets REALLY old after...say...the first two times she does it. And can she look ANYONE in the eye? You can tell she's one of those people who looks above you when she talks. Go play with your balloon animals, Amy Garden Salad.
I'm not a big fan of Josh and Donna either. I feel like the writers just threw it in at the end of the series, knowing that fans would be ticked if their relationship never developed. Don't get me wrong...I really like both Josh and Donna. But I like them as they're separate characters, playfully flirting with each other for the relationship that they both know will never happen. |

Josh and Amy were not a good couple. The reason Donna is a good match for him now, Josh finally let go of the 'assistant' Donna and she has proven herself - that she can run with the big dogs- right beside Josh! He didnt realize his feelings for her until her accident.
I think they will elope while they are gone on vacation together! |
