Okay, here's what the back of the picture says where he says Heddy Lamar begged him to marry her. (Heddy's website hasn't responded as to who it is).

Broadway bright lights has beg me to make personally appearance on the stage
movies have pested (pestered?) me so much to sign a contract.
Heddy Lamar begged me to marry her but just ain't one of those safe job guys.
My dad name King Kong, I am King Kong Jr. Meet me in any zoo.
Knobby Joe
Stephen "Popeye" unreadable surname
Be True Robert L. Landrum

I'll keep you posted about a response from her.

Man of the Year:

Hmm...the definition of OK fits this movie perfectly. Not sure what else to say about it they could have used some of the cast more effectively they had in it more if they geared it to be more of a comedy but it became a drama of sorts during the 2nd half of the movie.

Verdict: 6 out of 10

Could have been so much more but still worth renting.

The Queen:

My 1st thought after the movie ended was why did this movie not win more Oscars. Michael Sheen who plays Tony Blair got robbed in that he did not even get a nomination for this role he was just great heck I think he not only should have been nominated but should have gotten an Oscar.

Of course Helen Mirren's role of the Queen lived up too all the hype and it was great and she earned that Oscar to say the least.

The storyline and plot of this movie is rock solid it really is just what a great film!

Verdict: 8.5 out of 10

300:

Can anyone say overrated? I can OVERRATED

In a nutshell anytime the movie tried to have a storyline is sucked.

The narrator on this movie was god awful I mean I have not heard narration that bad since watching a freaking biology video in H.S.

Yes I guess the battles are good but this movie has rental all over it they should put it on their posters.

The ending too it was pretty good though I really liked the speech and all so that was pretty good but overall I guess this was just not a movie for me.

Verdict: 6 out of 10

I've been watching Borat in installments - wow. It's even funnier and more uncomfortable than I had imagined. I think it's a really good movie for an Office fan - cringing while laughing, and feeling guilty for doing both, and worrying that you do those stupid things too.

Exactly, there was a lot of similarity in the humor. I just don't want to see Michael Scott in a banana thong. ohmy.gif

What movie? I love a good horror movie, but really scary (not gross) ones seem to be hard to find.

Yeah- I still didn't understand why this movie didn't win an Oscar. At least Helen Mirren won smile.gif Can't wait for it to come to DVD so I can buy it!

Good to know I'm not missing out on much. I've heard either this movie was really good or pretty bad. I probably won't end up seeing it.

Netflix movie of the day: The Great Ziegfeld. 9/10. It was a wonderful movie- I could probably watch it again before I send it back. The musical numbers in it were spectacular!

Important point. Now Dwight, on the other hand, was designed for banana-thong excellence.

I am just about to re-watch my new copy of "Stranger than Fiction." Now that the tax he!! is behind me, I can fully enjoy this again.

Question: how did Will Ferrell move from this splendid role to that stupid ice-skating movie with John Heder? That looks like the worst kind of dreck...

*Crossing my fingers that this is true.* I just found a list on amazon.com of classic Warner Brothers movies to be released on DVD in 2007. Some of the ones I'm most excited about are:

Babes in Arms, Babes on Broadway, Girl Crazy and Strike Up the Band Mickey Rooney/Judy Garland Collection

Neptune's Daughter, Dangerous When Wet, Million Dollar Mermaid, Bathing Beauty, On an Island With You and Thrill of a Romance Esther Williams Collection

Red Dust, Bombshell, Hold Your Man (1933), Girl From Missouri, Personal Property, Riff Raff (1935), Saratoga and Suzy Jean Harlow Collection

And the one I'm most excited for? Myrna Loy & William Powell Collection! biggrin.gif
Manhattan Melodrama, Evelyn Prentice, Double Wedding (1937), I Love You Again and Love Crazy- I will definitely buy this one first!!

I've got to start saving my money now! Here's the original link I found this on- there's a few more sets on there that I didn't mention

Old movies are the best- they were made back when there were still new plots.

I could watch Sunset Boulevard at least once a week and never tire of it.
