Ha,ha,ha,ha, that was great. Thanks for the link. I never watch videos anymore cause I hate most of what's on, pop music and all. You're definitely right about it being even more frustrating, but definitely more dramatic. I loved it, and I love that you got the dots doing it. Made me lol for the first time all day. Thanks Naydi, Vurtgirl -------------------- |

I do that too!! I'll be watching an ep I've seen, like, 20 times, & my hubby or one of my kids will come in & say, "didn't you see that one?" & I'll say, oh, I missed the ending ....No one understands my obsession like you guys! It's comforting to know that I'm not alone I'll have to use that one next time! It is comforting to know there are others out there sharing the love! I think that's why I prefer to watch the reruns on TV even though I have Seasons 1 & 3 on DVD and have taped many from 4 & 5. It's knowing that other people are out there enjoying the show too, that makes it feel so good! -------------------- 5/13/07 OH HAPPY DAY !!!!! LOCI IS RENEWED !!!

I'll just sit there and watch them over and over again. Even on the same day. You know how sometimes they'll show a few, then repeat them again later in the night. If I'm still up, I'm still watching. Pretty sad huh. I was in a bad accident and broke my back, well pretty close, so I can't work and can't stand or walk for more than 5 mins tops at a time, so it gives me alot of time on my hands. I just thought I'd add that in so you guys wouldn't think I was a lazy butt. I love working, and if I didn't have LOCI, I think I would go crazy.(or crazier than I already am) Vurtgirl -------------------- |

It's amazing how many sweet, smart, interesting, good people I've met on this board. I appreciate your well wishes. I do my best to keep my spirits up, though it is very difficult at times. It certainly helps being able to watch a show I love so much (especially with VDO being in almost every scene Vurtgirl -------------------- |

A few years ago, I suffered a setback which was devastating physically and financially. I was completely laid out for about six months. As my recovery progressed, I couldn't work or be productive in any way. One of the things which kept me from going completely mad were a couple of old prime-time reruns during the afternoon on USA or TNT or something. I won't divulge the titles. They were reasonably intelligent projects. One was even considered groundbreaking in it's day, but they seem pretty silly now. I kept up with my current night-time favorites like Law and Order and Criminal Intent, but they did not provide the respite like the afternoon shows. For a couple of hours every weekday afternoon I was able to escape my pain. I planned my day around the show-times. And when the time came for me to refocus my attention on my own issues, I found I was better able to concentrate on where I needed to be, rather than where I was. It helped speed my recovery and re-entry into a productive life once again. My recovery progresses, but it seems, sometimes, it moves along much too slow. It hasn't been a good week and I've been in a terrible grump about it. After reading your post and being witness to your great attitude I was reminded of those days. I was able to draw myself away from the grump and take a fresh look at where I needed to be, rather than where I'm at now. So I thank you, vurtgirl, for your honesty. You turned my fretful cold weekend into a bright warm one. I pray your recovery is swift and your future full of hope. Whatever you're doing to maintain your great attitude, keep it up. And as far as being "nuts" goes....you're not nuts. I should know. I'm crazy. Bona-fide. Certified. Blind Ramblin' Crazy. I've got papers. Sounds to me like you have it together. Best of luck. Thanks again. Peace. blind ramblin' crazy |

What you wrote here has really touched me and is one of the nicest gestures anyone has ever done, without any need to. I am so happy I was able to brighten your day, but having read this, you have done the same for me. I wish I was better with words to express how much I admire your strength in your recovery, and that your words actually help put in perspective how to achieve it. I too have my shows that noone but me probably likes, I've got to tell you I seldom have come accross such kindness, and I really respect you and thankyou for writing this. Thankyou again, Vurtgirl -------------------- |

It must be very frustrating for you, because you sound like a person who is normally very active. Since you cannot get your body to be active, at least you have found ways to keep your mind going. TV, books, music, crossword puzzles, surfing the net, and of course, writing to us are all good ways to keep your spirits up. Heck, I keep my spirits up doing the same things. If it is sad that you watch the reruns of LOCI over and over, even on the same day, then you've got company in that area. I do too - 1. To see VDO - physically So do hang in there and don't despair. You will recover physically, and with a good attitude and fun things to occupy your mind, you will be sane and happy when you do! -------------------- 5/13/07 OH HAPPY DAY !!!!! LOCI IS RENEWED !!!

It really is helpful to ease my mind by doing all kinds of things, and sometimes all you want to do is just watch a show on tv that you like. Like my precious LOCI. Plus talking to all you sweet people. Thanks again Vurtgirl (sorry everyone for going OT) -------------------- |

Right. NBC, do yourselves a favor & put the newest G/E episode on Tuesday evening, Dec. 26th. We KNOW it's ready for airing! No one is doing anything the night directly after Christmas - we are all too broke & too tired to go out. It's a great night to show a new ep - their are all reruns on the other channels. Sounds like a mighty fine plan to me. C'MON Now, peeps!!!!! It's not like it'd kill ya or anything.... -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hey! Where's our brave mob-surfing thread starter??? We're looking for the lo down!!! (well, i am, at least..)
I'm going to have to catch up with my reading because I seem to be missing some shared tragedies that folks have alluded to in a couple of threads. Not being rude - just haven't read the context post... -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

(hand over mouth) But man, yeah, that does read really badly, doesn't it? I was making reference to Cvl's joke in another thread about me letting her borrow you. Man - that joke did die a pretty painful death, huh? As well it should with such completely non-meshing factors! D'ah well... Sorry but you two are so cute in your posts to each other. Although dunno if I'd want to be present if you were in the same room. I don't think I would be able to breathe from laughing.
