Totally scientific and separated from anything remotely meepy-eyed chick flick and such. wink.gif

According to "Stefaniak's Dictionary of Movie Watching Adjectives"
Meepy - dewey-eyed and quivery lipped, sort of the response you get from a 4-year-old when you inform her that that loose tooth really isn't worth $20 outside of tooth fairy economics.

What an excellent definition! laugh.gif Now, since I approach every film in a detached scientific manner, I have to say that this has never been a problem for me. Not once, not even during the end of any aforementioned fims. In fact, I like this definition so much, I am adding it to my Anthropological Glossary of Terms. You know the one which includes; 'Innate Hotness as a characteristic of certain members of the species can be observed from a distance, which precludes study-ending conflicts of interest.'

*sadness*

I've been sick these past few days. sad.gif unsure.gif It started Monday night with a wittle sore throat that I thought would go away within 24 hrs. But Thursday morning I woke up and realized I lost my voice. huh.gif ohmy.gif blink.gif

So I've been eatin' soup and cough drops, and drinkin tea, and honey mixed with lemon juice all day. dry.gif I was hoping to go to NYC this weekend to see an Off Off Broadway play. sad.gif

Oh my gosh, Jordan, I sure hope you're feeling better. That pic of Katherine & Vincent is right under your quote. Did you meet the one and only Vincent?? I would have fainted or gotten hysterical or something stupid like that. What a memory!! smile.gif

A moment of silence for Don Ho please. sad.gif

HONOLULU, Hawaii (AP) -- Legendary crooner Don Ho, who entertained tourists for decades wearing raspberry-tinted sunglasses and singing the catchy signature tune "Tiny Bubbles," has died. He was 76.

He died Saturday morning of heart failure, publicist Donna Jung said.

QUOTE (stefanl @ Apr 15 2007, 01:03 PM) *
I am certainly hoping that this is the final chapter in the saga of my computer's virus protection.

I just received an email from Symantec asking me to rate their customer representatives that helped me with my software related questions of April 9. There is no pre-written questionnaire with safe radio button controlled answers essentially rating them from 1 to 5. It's an open-ended email asking me to respond concerning my interactions with their ineffectual, though friendly staff, forced to live through my software h'll from last week Friday through Monday attempting to rectify lousy programming and a substandard product. (Excuse that horribly run-on sentence.)

Dearest Prahdeep,
Had a great time, wish you were here, so I could force you to watch every excrutiatingly annoyed expression crossing my face as I listened to the same set of scripted questions from your undertrained staff.

Hugs and kisses,
Linda (wish I could dot the "i" with a smiley face)

Anyone who wants to join in on the email, please send your suggestions along.

Dear Prahdeep,
Inasmuch as I enjoyed spirited conversation and interaction with your employees, I rate the Symantic call centre as one of my top suggestions for new party chat line. If, however, having software problems solved in a timely fashion is what customers are looking for, I suggest they dial 16 year olds at random until they hit upon the one who can solve their problem. This solution will undoubtedly be faster and much more likely to suceed than contacting your pleasant but inept staffers.
Yours truly, etc. etc.

wink.gif Mari

Er, will you all disown me when I admit that "Truly, Madly, Deeply" was not one of my favorite Rickman films? Now "Sense and Sensibility" - oh, yeah.

Really, though, I am one of those bizarre people who just adores Snape. I mean, I liked the character in the books, and then they cast AR, and... *drool*

And now I will be going back to pretending to accomplish something, since I am at work and drooling on the keyboard would be bad. Right?

Yes Peachy and Linda, I own 'Truly Madly Deeply' on DVD. I love that movie, I think it's one of my all time faves. Er, 'Sense and Sensibility' is right up there too, and it 'aint for Hugh Grant!

The poor colonel was so suffocatingly sad in "Sense and Sensibility". Marianne was a ninny and certainly did not appreciate the gem that she had in Christopher.

Nope. Never seen it! wink.gif

You will forever and always remain a Rickmaninite in my book.

Love Rickman - and "Sense and Sensibility" is one of my all-time favorite films. He was excellent in "Dogma" too, for those not easily offended about religious humor.

Hey, how was everyone's weekend? Mine was horrible. I have strep throat so I was basically in bed all weekend. I hate being sick. But I caught it from my daughter she just got over strep and then I caught it. I am on antibotics and I'm starting to feel better thank God! I am at work right now even though Cody said that we are in a state of emergency. I work for social workers and the director said we were still opened for business so here I am here at work. mad.gif

Yeah, same here. Got all the way to work at 6:10 to find the doors still locked and everyone in after me asking me if the state of emergency meant we could go home. The local lake here is cresting above the spillway and is running over the adjacent road surface. Students who walk to school from that direction had an interesting time tip toeing along that watery walk.

If you're on antibiotics, please remember to take the full course and then start hitting the multivitamins and yogurt for a couple of weeks to replace what you'll lose of your intestinal cultures. I hate being sick.

I've got a swimming pool in my basement now. The paper claims we got three inches in Trenton. I believe it based on what's sloshing around down there. April showers, May flowers, great! But not all at one time!

Love Rickman too, Sense & Sensibility is also a favorite of mine, love Dogma (hubby likes it for Salma) & LOVED Rickman in Robin Hood with Kevin Costner. He plays a delicious villian, doesn't he?

P.S. If they decided to once again remake Sense & Sensibility, wouldn't VDO be great in the role of the Captain?

Oh I am going to make sure I take the full course this time around. The last time I was sick I took the antibiotics for a couple of days but then I started to feel better so I threw the rest out thinking I didn't need them anymore. Boy was I wrong!! About a week later I was back at the doctors. He was not to happy with me. He was like "even though you were feeling better, you needed to finish that whole bottle"!! Now I know better!

A few people here at my job didn't make it in because of the weather. Some parts of Avenel were actually evaccuated. I had no problem driving here today. My daughter is happy though because she has no school due to the weather so she's at her Grandmother's house another day!

I can't decide if Rickman was a better villain in Robin Hood or in Die Hard. Loved the suits!

VDO in Rickman's role? Well, since he IS Vincent D'Onofrio, who would even consider LOOKing at Willoughby?

Quick question about PM e-mail notifications.

Is anyone else getting these random emails about messages? I've gotten the same one three times about a PM that CI Fan sent me originally on April 2. When it comes to my email account it's like it's a brand new message, but when I click the link it's the same message from before.

Got one yesterday and then another two today within 30 minutes of each other.

Linda,

I had a similar experience earlier last week. The NBC system seems to be experiencing a time lag problem in their e-mail PM message alerts. I also got some dup messages.
