So, I've only been a member here for *counts* not quite two weeks yet, and already I'm leaving. Well, we college kids get 3 1/2 weeks off for winter break, and today's my last day in the dorms. Normally I wouldn't go all sad.gif for this, BUT as of right now, we don't have net access at home, which means, no more talking about LOCI with you guys. sad.gif

Have a safe and happy holiday, and don't forget about me!

See ya in 2007 cool.gif (unless I get lucky and my mom got the internet connected...but probably not dry.gif )

We will miss you! But we will all be here when you get back. Have a happy holiday and healthy new year and don't forget to watch the new LOCI epis so you will be ready to post like a demon when you're back at the dorm.

And for someone who's only been with us two weeks, you've brought us a lot of joy, jordanriver!! Your close encounters with VDO and KE have been awesome to read (and see!). See you in January! cool.gif

Hehehe, well, the problem is that if you don`t understand Dutch or even German, our language sounds pretty d.amn awful to outsiders I believe. There`s one band though that makes Dutch very pretty. Anyway, I always think we have good bands so just quick some stuff:

Kane Please don`t look at the singer hahaha (English)
Blof It`s a little soft, but I love them. There are going to record this song in English as well, the title means "Proposal without rings (Dutch)
Blof & Counting Crows And yes, the lyrics make just as little sense in Dutch.
Krezip They can rock really good as well, but this is a nice ballad (English)
Ilse de Lange Is a bit more country than the rest. (English)

Anyway, this is who I thought of just quickly, we`ve got loads, but the problem is that with a lot of stuff it`s just a shame to not know what they are singing.

End of my promotion of Dutch music laugh.gif

Pretty good, but, sadly, not really my speed....

Editors - Munich
TV on the Radio
Goldfrapp
Silversun Pickups (warning: video sucks ridiculously bad....best listened to only)

Birthday (english)

Wax and Wane
Musette and Drums

afm?lisdagur (icelandic)
(won't be keeping the personal links up long - my storage bin is now full!!)

I'm loving the 3FM link in your sig... I found this site from Portugal not long ago: Radios Cotonete

God, I am sooooo olllddddd. I don't know any of this d*mn fine music. It's the first sensibility to harden, you know, music appreciation. Somewhere in one's thirties, time freezes on the music front....
Ah well, here is a bit of Noel-y music for you all. Many of you know the Jacquie Lawson cards, but I'm sending this one with special affection for everyone here. Hope the link works.

What a beautiful card, bwalter! Thank you for the link. Much nicer than the free E cards I send from Hallmark. Also beautiful is the thought - wanting to share seasons greetings with us biggrin.gif

I must be old too, since the only name I recognized was Counting Crows. My kids are into rap & hip hop, like Ludacriss, Nelly, etc.. There's a radio station popular on Long island called WBLI that has a great mix of current music of all genres. We can put it on in the car & please everyone in the family. smile.gif

A Wonderful Christmas to all of my friends here on the NBC Board! Stay safe. Hope your holidays are filled with love & laughter. biggrin.gif

Hi, Seraph

You know, I've never bothered to do one of me... Started to a couple of times. Quick question; Have you had a chance to check out the music links already? I was waiting for you before killing the ones to my personal storage files...

I have a few on my computer, haven`t had the time to listen to them, though I know a few of the artists smile.gif. You`re more the britpop (either actually British, or just something that is similar) type right? Me too! The links to Dutch music I gave you were not a very good representation of all the bands we have of course ;-).

Yeah...Hummm? I guess that would be an accurate assessment; excusing the Cocteau's - they've their own musical category that the Sugarcubes kind of step toe toward a bit, imo. Well.. You know... Accurate as long as we're not talking Kylie Minogue or Robbie Williams-like homicide inducing brit pop!!!! Now, that'd be a blow to the heart... (yeeeah - Oh La La throws a well-produced glance in Kylie's general direction, but nothing more! ohmy.gif ) Then there's stuff from your Tool, White Zombie and other such folks; then Pink and other close held randoms... Not quite sure where Tori would fall?(No Stonings, please!!!!)

I'll kill the links from me now, then (TV on the Radio, Goldfrapp and Cocteau Twins). The others are from You Tube... wink.gif

EDIT: Ooo sh't! MAAAAAAJOR EDIT, when attempting shorthand above, I forgot there's that chick out there going by the name of Pink... I, OF COURSE, meant Pink Floyd!!!

Hehehe laugh.gif. Na, Pink Floyd and all the related things are not my thing per se, it`s a song by song basis for me with those bands.

And not a baaaaad word about Robbie Williams please biggrin.gif. But I can see why you don`t like him, although I am curious how well known he is in the States, considering he was a nothing over there 2,5 years ago. Oh, and obviously he does NOT qualify as britpop laugh.gif.

Hummmm - I see! *pulls out notepad...under Gerard Way: "Robbie Williams - No touchy"*

Nah, he's not really known here at all outside of random tabloid show mentions if he's on a simulcasts of European awards show or something - or, unless you're talking about people like me, who have an odd mix of older memory retention. It was around 5 - 6 yrs ago that he had his highest profile when MTV was trying to push him to people here by having him on their shows and playing that CGI video where he rips off his skin and muscles. Actually, the timing I'm not sure of - whenever it was that we were running screaming from all things Spice Girls???

Seemed a pretty funny guy, though, in interviews I'd seen....
