Not trying to sound pompous myself <cough> <whips out Linguistics degree>, but "wordsmith" is no more made up than any other word, and the usage you gave was perfectly acceptable and appropriate. Likewise, "circumlocute" is a word, both in itself and as the correct reduction of "circumlocution" (both meaning "to talk around").

And may I say you have a lovely vocabulary, my dear! wink.gif

SerenityPaintedDeath & CvlSrvnt:
What a coincidence! After I replied to SPD and saw your reply to SerenityPaintedDeath, I had just started reading this book called 'The Pocket Muse' Endless Inspiration, by Monica Wood 'New Ideas for Writing', it's my boyfriend's book, he likes to write, and this is a pretty cool book with lots of good tips and mostly written as a good guide on how to get past writer's block. So anyway, in this book, she used the word Wordsmith, and I just found it funny and ironic that we were just talking about just that in the same context. So I went onto my beloved dictionary.com, and what do you know, it really is a word.
Their definition:
1. an expert in the use of words.
2. a person, as a journalist or novelist, whose vocation is writing.
Just thought you guys might find it interesting,

Just to keep those of you who might still be interested in the Kathryn - Vincent - Myspace thing ... (eerie silence ....)

I still haven't heard anything from Myspace as to whether they have a way of verifying if a celebs profile is the real thing or not.

And no new msg from our dear friend "Kathryn" LMAO.

Huh, I'm not surprised that you didn't hear from the fake Kathryn, but I am kinda surprised that Myspace didn't respond to you. Unless they are just really busy and haven't gotten the chance to yet. I am still really interested in hearing what they have to say about that, so please do tell when/if you ever get an answer from them.
Thanks,

Man, girl, you are always finding the best stuff to post on here for our entertainment.
Just in the last couple days, Istanbul not Constantanople, Babes in Toyland Sweet, now this six days.
I'm a metal head, and I still loved it. The video is awesome, and the lady's voice is beautiful. Is the video, just a video, or is it from a movie, and if so which movie. I thought the guy in it was a hottie. I loved the whole feel of the video, the lady was a beauty too. (I agree with you on the in between version of the two, but each was good in it's own way, the song & remix I mean.) smile.gif
Thankyou sweetie for posting this stuff. It really makes my boring days more interesting.

An interested audience of one - HA HAAAAAAAA!!! But one is more than enough wink.gif (well, two if I count myself...) You know, what's funny is, to me, the voice sounds like that of a male Middle Eastern singer; which would fit the message of the song pretty well. I'm gonna have to look into that now.... The video is from an Asian film director. In looking for his name, I found this iFilm blurb:

Shadow was keen to try something new and different for this video and approached Wong Kar-Wai, one of his favorite filmmakers. It turned out that Kar-Wai was a fan of Shadow's music and was keen to direct for him. The idea was to make a short film revolving around the song's hook line, "Tomorrow never comes until it's too late...." The plot centers around a guy who, upon discovering his girlfriend has betrayed him, tries to destroy all traces of their relationship, eventually realizing that what is done cannot be undone. WKW cast Chang Chen (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) as the lead actor; Danielle Graham, Asia's current leading model, plays his woman. The video was shot by famed cinematographer Christopher Doyle, who has worked on all of WKW's films and has also shot films by directors Gus Van Sant, Barry Levinson and Philip Noyce.

In looking for the video, I saw that it looks like the song was used in the movie Crash; either that or somebody did their own video using movie stills. I wouldn't know either way seeing as I've not had that moment yet where I'll say to myself "You know what, na? Today I feel like we should go and make an effort to get ourselves as severely and inconsolably P'ssed the F-k Off as we can.... Let's go check out Crash!???!!" "....and sh't, while we're at it, isn't it about time that we've seen Roots!!!???!?!!!!" Now, don't get me wrong - These movies do serve an important purpose and should have an audience. It's just that, for the sake of self-preservation, that audience just can't include me...

Quick update... The sample is from a song called Six Days War from a Liverpool band called Colonel Bagshot. (not with a ten-foot pole...) The singer is male, but the sample is pitched up just a tiny bit giving off that Middle Eastern/female tone. Seems they released one album in the year of my birth (1971) then went away. I found a couple of sites with the original song, but I can't get to the links from here!!! mad.gif mad.gif (yes - i am at work today) I emailed what I found to my hotmail account, so, hopefully, I'll be able to get the song up when I get home. From the :29 sample I found on another site; think I might end up liking the original better than both of these....

--------------------

EDIT: Got it. Much more spare and pretty haunting for a song from '71... Six Days War

Wow, now in this version you can really tell it's a guy. I can't believe the new versions were really still this guy. The things they do with technology. Hey, I did hear a ladies voice together with the man's at the end. How did you figure all this stuff out?
Thanks so much for all that info. You really know your way around the net. I saw the crash version as well, and I did see the movie, but I can't, for the life of me remember if the song was in it, I don't think so, but I'm probably wrong. The crash/you tube just came up when I was listening to the your linked one, and somewhere there I saw Wong Kar-Wai's name, but I didn't know who he was and didn't know the link between Shadow and him. It's really interesting that they'd do that colaboration. As soon as you said Crouching Tiger, I knew then where I saw my hotie. He really is a cutie. I'm gonna have to remember to do a search for more movies with him. Plus how did you know the model thing? Well, thanks again Naydi. Oh, I only count as half a fan, cause I'm broken and crazy. laugh.gif Oooh, maybe we can count all my personalities. laugh.gif
Oh, and I love the giant kitty, aaaaawwwwweeeee.

My tomorrow better look like my Saunders NCLEX prep book will be in the friggin lobby or one of the EIGHT locked mailboxes available to the postman, who suddenly decided that the area just looked "too unsafe" to leave a package in on Friday!!! It was cute, while I was in class 8 hours a day, and therefore not just sitting around on my a** waiting on someone else, for me to say "Oh, I'll start studying when my extra NCLEX book shows up". Having wasted three days for no good d'mn reason isn't so cute! mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

Oh man does that song hit the spot tonight. What did the Post guy do, leave one of those I can't deliver posties, or something? Did he even try ringing the doorbell? That really is horrible to need so bad to study and not have your d'rn book. I'm so sorry for ya sweets. I know the anger you're feeling only too well.

My day sucked too. (Not so bad as yours, but I feel the need to rag.) Last night it decided to rain a sheet of ice to cover my car in, then sprinkle a couple inches of snow on top, so that the one day I have to move from one place to another, with a bunch of stuff, I had to scrape and dig my way into my car. It took me an entire hour just to get into the trunk to put my stuff in, it was frozen shut. My back feels like someone took a bat to it. I didn't even have anyone to help me, now I'm just whining, I'll stop.

Thanks for song Naydi. I loved it. Is there a video that goes along with it by chance?

Warming to Day of Suckiness theme here....This afternnoon, withdrew $600 from the ATM to buy bits and pieces, then went to a fab Oz beach down the road, had great swim (if you don't count turning a Pacific Ocean blue in the water) , came home feeling like a picture-postcard Bronzed Aussie (feeling is not the same as looking, btw.) Went over to the store to make purchases. Aha. No cash. None. Nada. Zip. All gone. Le monnaie, c'est disparu. Back to beach, combing same. Can only assume some yobbo will be shouting the drinks at the pub tonight. Only hope that the loot went to some needy soul, not one of the holidaying BMW crowd. There had better be some d$mn good after-the-fact karma in all this ...

And the song did scare the beejeesus out of me. I was, ya know, expecting John Lennon, and POW! Now I just don't feel poor, I feel old and poor. mad.gif

Edit: Oh look. I just broke the French coffee press. Will have to boil ground beans in a pot tonight, and sievethrough a colander. To borrow from 'Art" (Season1): "This day grows ever more delightful".

Downtime is not good. Gives you time to actually think about things that you had artfully "gotten over" while you were busy. God, 2006 sucked.... Did I REALLY need to see what happened to all of the Carusoes? On my f-g Birthday, no less!!?!?! Good. Okay. While I was f-g around, they were embarking on their long road toward killing themselves and each other. Great. Nice to know. All that sh't you looked back on thinking it was fun; well - not gonna do that anymore, are ya? Have fun trying figure out how none of it was your fault. Yeah. Fine. Something in there about only being responsible for yourself and not being put on this earth to try to save everyone you know but F-K, Man.... Couldn't the sh't have been just a 1/2" more subtle!!!!???!?!!! mad.gif

D'mn.

Now that's a lousy day!!! I've got to ask one question, though. I know you'll want to slap me because part of the pain has got to be wrapped up in asking yourself this very question: Why, pray tell, did you bring $600 to the beach? What happened, there? I'm reminded of a certain acquaintence's recent move to run a certain red light... All I can figure - either somebody really did need that money (though, had they actively stolen it rather than it falling out - any idea around it being a 'gift' is pretty much dead) or somebody needed to be allowed that chance to place the final nail in their karmic coffin and you were to be the day's conduit. Either way, I'm sure it'll come back to you some way, somehow...

Oh, cr'p! Now I don't feel so bad at all about my stuff. That s'cks so bad. I am so sorry for ya. I can tell you, that I really do think that you'll get it back some day, in some way. I have lost money, and then years later, I found like three times the amount I lost, actually more. Although, I stuck around and waited for someone to show up looking at the ground for their money. They never came back, and I waited a long time, hours and hours, plus I kept going back to see if they put up any signs. I would've given it back to them in a second if they did, but no wallet, no ID, just cash, a bunch of hundreds rolled up. Ok, well, I don't know if this is helping. blink.gif I just don't want you to feel bad. Just think about how many times all of us have spent money on unneeded things, or that it could have been alot worse. Don't think of the loss, think of it differently. Negative feelings will only make you depressed, it won't bring back your mony, sweets, so just forget it. Health and happiness is so much more important. I would give everything I had just to be able to walk the way I use to (it wouldn't add up to much, but you get my point.) laugh.gif
Hope you feel happier by the time your read this, you bronzed Aussie,

Where did you have the money? In your pocket, wallet, purse? Shoe? Maybe make a lil sign over there and post it up somewhere, cause if it was found by mistake and not stollen, then they may be good people that would return it if they knew how to contact you. Just an idea. Take care bwalter.
