In case anyone's wondering: Yes, I am quite relieved -nay- viscerally euphoric to have survived the Great Lite-Brite Blitzing of 2007.

Seriously, though, what in the h'll were these people thinking putting them up, #1; and, why was there no review of the remaining pieces after the first or second was bomb squad interventionary blast, #2? Not that there couldn't be decoy, decoy, decoy, decoy, Real Bomb for all they knew. To think it all could have been avoided with the use of a 'Turner Broadcasting' sticker. erm erm erm....

hey, jord!

Worse things could happen than someone blowing up Boston...with you and Robert Parker being elsewhere at the time, of course. tongue.gif

This is true... Sad thing is, Boston having the low self-esteem that it does; you know there's more than a little pride in the media for having had the nation's attention. You know, for something OTHER than Massport giving away planes...

We missed ya, girl! Welcome back.

Yep, lots of chat since you last posted. You'll see LOCI cast Michael Goren, we found out what the next couple of episodes will be and when they'll be aired, yours truly decided to ham it up and put a VDO website together (in progress), Naydi jumped on the public speaking junket, cvl and vurt started cool new topics, bwalter waxed poetic about the Australian CI promo...well - you get the drift. Have fun reading!

Lots huh.gif Thanks for the welcome. I knew about the casting for MG (that's like one of the last things I read before I left), but um, I don't know who the actor is.... blink.gif

No wonder you've been so tired, girl - you've been moonlighting! Placing illuminated middle fingers in ten major US cities must have worn you out tremendously. Hey, wait a minute, Chicago's on that list! So why didn't I get a visit while you were (oxymoron alert) defacing the City of Chicago?

Wait a minute...the hospital is using you to take minutes? After all you went through to get your RN, and all the applause and the big invitation/welcome to the Young Black Professional Whatevers, they're using you as a lousy secretary?

No wonder you've got The Jeffersons stuck in your head.

Hi Naydi!
When are you taking your tests/boards, or whatever they're called? or did you take them already? I thought I heard you say something about Friday. So I thought that you were taking them today, but it doesn't seem so.
How about an update?
Thanks Sweets,
Vurtgirl

Edit: What's with the stretched screen? Is it just my screen, or is everyone's screen stretched way out on this topic?

Hi Naydi!

Aaah, you see, Massachusetts is one of the only states in the union that does NOT allow Graduate Nurses to practice. The BORN voted to delete the license category in the early 90's after some boy somewhere in this great nation started doing something to somebody while working as a Grad Nurse. Can't remember if it was someone local who was stealing from patients or if it had to do with a graduate nurse in Jersey or somewhere like ti who decided to take up killing people while he was practicing in a nursing home. Either way, I'm stuck as an Office Manager until at least a couple of weeks after I pass the NCLEX on 2/21; depending on how fast the wheels of HR get greased in my favor. So alas, here I sit, still trapped in the Harry Potter Labyrinth of the Seven Wicked Trials of the High Order of Empiral Masters of the Benevolent Massachusetts Nurse.

it's based somewhere in Salem, i think...

-------------------

BUT - Since I've last spoken to you good people; I've received conversational confirmation that, yeah, got me mentor - for life, even - very important to have, I'm told. Another instant mom. Least this time, the relationship dynamic is out there up front, rather than my having formed a friendship with an older woman who then, up and decides she's gonna start acting like my mother.(it's quite annoying... yeah, yeah - everyone comes to know the real one sucks... but never exactly asked anybody else to step up! one was named Nadine - that was fun for a minute... anywho) What's the worst that can happen? You know, beyond having somebody trying to be involved in every aspect of your business. She seems to have common sense about boundaries, though... An Army Woman. (that's right, Cv!) Found that out at the symposium. I told her when she called me all friendly-like on Friday that I wasn't surprised to hear about the Army (you know, given the "Erm Herm, here we go" move into mentoring position). She said "Really!?!? I've been trying to scale it back!" I, of course, didn't tell her why I wasn't surprised; t'was pretty funny... Served 7 years. Jumped out of planes while serving as a field RN in Desert Storm. Got a bronze star as part of the crew that saved the life of their MD in the field, after he lost his leg going -as she told it- beyond his silliness of having gotten off the truck instead of just p'ssing over the side, by kicking a stick on the ground his way back to it. The woman is no joke. Not one to depend on people (as if I could dry.gif ); but it would be nice to know I have someone to talk with about all this sh't, after having done so much on my own for so long. Got to say right now, that this being pulled along into things I wouldn't otherwise experience is pretty d'mn nice, no matter how comfortable or uncomfortable..

Speaking of which - turns out this shindig on Friday is actually an awards dinner. Soooo, ended up spending about 5 hours in Filene's Basement yesterday, sister in tow, trying on about 20 different dresses during 3 or 4 trips to the dressing room. Never been so sick of dressing and undressing in d'mn life! (even more than that time having to make up the rent believing Cvl on that lame-a** horse... yeah, i'm still mad mad.gif ) So, having spent the 5 hours, I, of course, came home with a nice, surplice top red and white dress that I wasn't look for, a turquoise print sheer back-tie kersheif blouse with camisole, and the dress for Friday. A dress that I returned this morning for the Kenneth Cole, that I should have come home with in the first frigging place. Anybody have a Filene's Basement near them? No? Then I'm so sorry. The red dress: $24.99, the Kenneth: $35, originally marked as $118. Gotta love the Basement....
ciao!

Still can't believe you'd put money down on a tip from me about a horse called "Gullible".

Sounds like you got yourself a decent mentor, though. Just the right kind of person to kick your a- I mean, help keep you on the right track. biggrin.gif
