I really wanted to see that one because it looked really good, but i thought i shouldnt because i get all weird when people do tourture things, (can you imagine me with blind spot?? Eames!) so i didnt watch it. sleep.gif

Well, You should have. tongue.gif And it wasn't like Eames' scene in 'Blind Spot'. The best scenes were cool! The former WWWE wrestler was a guest star in it, and he carried Stabler and threw him over the window! Also, Liv and the tech guy were in Men's room trying to figure out to catch the company's code. rolleyes.gif

so, keiko, that video that you have in your sig, is that from the SVU on the same night as albatross?

You mean the 'Loophole' episode? No. This video must be from one of Mariska's movies, or old episodes I haven't seen. smile.gif

Well...got home about a 1/2 hour ago from taking the NCLEX boards... I feel pretty good about it and pretty much like more of a zombie now than when I was going in. The test shut off at the minimum 75 questions, which could mean that you've been on the passing curve for a large enough amount of time to prove that you still would be with more than 75 questions OR you've been below the curve for the same, proving that you would still be no matter how many more questions you get. All my classmates that I know of who went before me - shutting off at 75 - cried violently when they got home, convinced that they failed. Knowing this, I don't know if feeling good is a GOOD thing or a bad thing. The soonest I'll know if I passed will be Friday morning, via the pay-per 'unofficial results' online or telephone system. I'll be getting out of the house very, very soon to stop thinking about the whole thing. What has me feeling good though (beyond the relief of being 'set free' at the minimum # of questions) is:

#1 - Kept reminding myself to stay in control of the test while I was taking it: Main point of every question is safety - Period, No reading ahead, No 'ya-but's, No 'finishing sentences' - take in every word; Stop, look away, hold breath, do what's needed to 'shut up' at the start of the mental 'arrooooghh' before the HR spikes...

#2 - There were NO Maternity questions (Thank you, Jesus!!)

#3 - Memorized key concepts actually showed up and repeated themselves (adrenals - think potassium first; infection control - negative pressure for nurse, postive pressure for immunocompromised;, etc.)

and, finally,

#4 - Within the last 10, got the same gift question twice. Performing pre-op assessment with a patient in for surgery for a bowel intussuscption (bowel telescoped down into itself), what would need to be brought immediately to the MD's attention. The correct answer option given both times: the passage of soft, formed brown stool.
- A gift question because, if normal stool is passed that means the bowel corrected itself and surgery isn't needed.

So, all in all, even moreso after typing out my reasons for feeling good about the whole thing, (not going to be even more redundant, here!)

Please, though, those of you who care - no well wishes and such until I know, okay? Though I can't change anything now, and the scoring is what it is whether I know or not at this point - I still don't want to get too ahead of myself.......

Yeah - I know that's weird... sad.gif Anxiety coping is anxiety coping, though - long as the method is a healthy one!

Look, as far as I'm concerned, you got the pin. You are RN. NCLEX has and always will sound to me like you're going for a seat at the Stock Exchange. (Also a good career move.)

Here, have some mood-enhancing phenylalanine, aka a Toblerone. And here's a lychee martini to wash it down. Now we're anxiety-coping a whooooole lot moh bettah, si?

Tried to take pictures of the ducks but the batteries in my camera needed recharging... (was bright and beautiful yesterday morning post-test... 100 or so visting mallards hanging out with the resident group and the 8-brother/sister group of pekings -7 white, 1 daffy duck- sunning themselves in the snow... would have been lovely... have lived there over a year and have yet to take pictures of any of them..) So -instead- the warmth of an attention-starved cat and a couple of grapes and two peanutbutter layered chocolate-covered cookies at mom's house had to suffice 'til I could get to the Naked Fish for the coconut crusted calamari and coconut-orange haddock last night.... Didn't dawn on me until right now that I could have gone to see pregnant, homebound and lonely Tara, but -terrible as it is to say- I think she would have made me even more on edge than I already was/am. Feeling a little less edgy today, but, I really don't want to be at work. If I were home, though; it'd be so much worse. I, apparently, have the sympathy of the lawyer my sister works for who was almost literally crawling up the walls waiting the two days for his bar results so many years ago - second day being worst than the first. Again - today's not so bad, if only I could shut the h'll up from keeping the air around me as full as possible. It's kind of bad when your throat starts to hurt from running your mouth so much. d'AAAAH well!!!!

Just checked online (can't dial the 1-900 number from here); nothing yet....

I am not Crazy, I just went back and discovered the post I was
responding to was in Oct of last year!!!! Back on page 3 or 4.

Sorry for not having the hang of it yet!!!

Congratulation Naydi!! Your post of having Passed is yet to come.
___________________________________________________

So many things I'd like to comment one, hope I have time on
my lunch hour. I loved X-Files I have every episode on tape, and the
spin off (sorta) Millennium. All kinda creepy makes ya wonder sort of stuff
Who played Frank? Can't recall his name right now, but hed be an
excellent villain for LOCI. American Gothic ohhh I did have it bad
for Gary Cole.. Lucas Buck was it? The Buck stops here...Someones at
the door.. Love the kid too was he in Slingblade? The guy who
played the Dr, hasn't he been in LOCI?

Another matter I am cramming this into my lunch as I am having a
terrible time posting at home. When I click on reply I get the box
(ooh the box) but no curser its driving me crazy (not a far drive).

Also What is the name of the episode this year with the amazing Bill Irwin in
it? Liza is in it too but Bill I have been a fan of since he was a clown in the Pickle Family Circus, yes I am in California (SF).

I have so much more to express I haven't even had time to express
my great admiration for VDO and the wonderful character I (we) have
come to love Bobby Goren!!!!

Thanks for letting me vent...uh oh co-workers are filtering back in.

BTW at home I have an iMac is that the problem?
Luv,
Devca

i gotta IMac too, dont think thats the problam, but other than that, i am no help. sorry.

ok, so i had this brilliant idea yesterday. I think that a majority of the CI fans are somewhat OCD. i think this because a lot of people have said that they are OCD on this board.Sso i want to make a poll thing and see how many people on this board (who are most likely people who love CI) are OCD. So, can someone tell me how to do that please?? thank you!

Bottom of the screen, click on 'new topic'. When you fill in the topic title, don't forget to do OT (so we know it's off topic). once you filled in the title, click on 'manage poll' underneath that. It's fairly straight forward from there on. type in the choices - Yes or No...and in the comment box, whatever you want to say.

Hope that helped.

Congratulations Naydi!
biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Get down with your bad self! Isn't it odd, to try to distill good nursing into question and answer form, when anyone who has ever been either a patient (me) or an RN (you) knows that that ain't where nursing is at anyway? Good for you, and See? Sometimes when you put in all the hard work and worry, it does pay off! So, now your heart rate can return to normal...You can feel more like yourself, and less like being stuck in limbo, waiting. Never doubted you myself.

Yeeeeay!!! I've now moved from shocked almost, dare I say, anti-climatic realization that the journey is over into YEAH - The Journey's Over; Give Me My D'mn Job!!!!! tongue.gif

Since posting the news, however, a discovery was had during a phone call to my second cousin, Rene, to let her know that I'm officially an RN now. I don't have any kind of close relationship with her, but she's family and she's a nurse (her Joey brother, too) and that fact was pretty inspirational for me. What has also been inspirational for me was learning what I did about her other brother, Markie, around the time of his death on Pat's Peak in NH. He went after life and lived it to the fullest; so much so that there had to be, at minimum, 400 people at his funeral on the mountain. His life inspired me so much that I've kept the program from his service, with his photo, arms spread eagle doing a jump on the single, two-foot ski that he'd invented, here at my desk.

Well, in talking with Rene, I learned that today is the anniversary of his death...

I'v been an RN for #*## years- I graduated just as the earth was cooling LOL. Congradulations!! I remember the wait to know about boards-it took weeks to get the results then. Now you guys know a lot faster. Saves on anxiety medications. What kind of nursing do you plan to do?
Always happy to hear about a new member of the group.

That program for Mark Parris is devastatingly beautiful. You've seized life with both hands, and you're headed up the mountain, too, Naydi. You'll conquer it.

Rowe,
Sorry, for the topic, i really had no idea it would get that reaction. I figured since some people had been say they were obsesive about somethings, i was just thinking that it... nvm it doesnt matter, just sorry. I wasnt trying to be disrespectful at all. I guess i should have thought about that. sorry for my mistake.
