Note to all our posters:
This thread has been created as a place to discuss the character of Mike Logan and how Christopher Noth brings him to life onscreen. Thank you to Chris_Noth_Fan for creating this topic. I am a big Chris Noth fan. Just wondering if anyone else out there is?? Loved him in LO and now in LOCI. I also loved him in Sex in the City as Mr. Big. Always liked Chris Noth. Loved him the original series and pretty much stopped watching that show about half a season after he left. Benjamin Bratt was all right but Logan was better, IMO.
Glad to see him back and am incredibly grateful that he's there so we can still see Vincent D'Onofrio on CI. I know without that arrangement, VDO would have been gone. And of course Noth is definitely nice to look at. Saw him in some movie or mini-series about Caeser. Nice legs on that man. ;-) -------------------- "Reality is just a collective hunch." Lily Tomlin

It would almost impossible NOT to like Chris Noth. He's such an exceptionally natural performer. He brings realism to his parts (and that was no mean feat with Mr Big, when you think about the marginal nature of the character.) I'm no droolfan, but I just really like watching him on screen.
In L&O Flagship , I always thought that Wolf was inspired in confirming him for the Logan role: Noth is good looking, but not so good looking that he is Everyman-from-Hollywood - he had, in his youth, a slightly 'common' cast to him, a blue-collar look. Maybe it was the nose. But that imperfection made him perfect for Mikey. He looked like so many young men from the working-class Catholic neighborhoods of New York in the '50s. And he nailed the part. AND the man is a Yalie, isn't he? LOL! Blue-chip, not blue-collar. As Logan Mark II, he nails it again, god love him, not losing what has gone before in the character, but developing it. Now, I still don't think the character (not the actor) fits the 'criminal intent' mode, but I'm beginning to buy him as MCS, no problems. My only complaint (and this is addressed to the Make-Up department, who hang on my every word) is the saturation bootblack dye on his hair and eyebrows. Lighten up, people, you're making him look like Victor Mature. -------------------- Lady BWalter Smythe-Plantagenet, Venusian sponge diver

I really like Chris North as well. I was never a huge 'Sex in the City' fan, not cause of him, but he's great in CI.
The one thing I have noticed, especially in the last episode, is that they are giving him way too many funny one liners to say. So many that it has gone beyond the subtle humor worked within the drama, as Eames does in the G/E episodes, to the point of making him look almost unproffesional and silly. I don't blame him, I blame the writing. I just hope that they slow down a lil on that cause it's actually getting annoying to watch. I've been very supportive of the L/W episodes, well except for the last one, in hopes that VDO sticks around having split the season, also, of course, because I like them so far. Much more than the L/B ones. I just try to see them as a seperate L&O than CI, never comparing them to the original CI G/E team. Ok, where am I going with this? Oh yeah, I just hope the writing goes back to being top quality so that we can enjoy all the potential great qualities that this character has to offer. Vurtgirl -------------------- |

Vurtgirl here here and I think both teams make this show I mean the shear fact that noth was willing to come on and reprise his old roll so that d'onofrio would stay is excellent . -------------------- NS

That is very true, Not Saying, I think that was very cool of him. That's another reason why I think they should do more justice towards his character. I haven't given up though. I have liked the L/W eps so far. It's just this last 'Weeping Willow' that kinda surprised me, in not so good a way. Vurtgirl:) -------------------- |

I know that most of you are die-hard D'onofrio fans, but I think the show works much better with Noth. Before it was as if he always saved the day. He does have a partner, NBC. I'm sure she could have contributed something. They portrayed him as a genius/savior. I never really liked that. Another thing was that his (character's, I mean) social skills were very much lacking. It almost seemed as if he had mild case of Asperger's Disorder, from a clinical standpoint. Noth seems much more human, which always adds to character depth. He's also very easy on the eyes. I liked his other partner much better than the current one.

I LOVE the Logan character - He always has been and continues to be my favorite character in the Law and Order universe. I really enjoyed him on the Mothership and I also think he is GREAT on CI - I will happily admit that its his return that has made CI a must watch program for me.
I do watch all the episodes BUT the L/W ones are the epies that I really look forward to. Have enjoyed Noth in pretty much everything I have seen him in. I would really like to see that Megan Mullally interview does anybody know if there is a video of it anywhere around - such as at youtube or something? It would be greatly appreciated |

You do get some background about Logan in bits and pieces like they used to do with Goren. From what I've gathered Logan seemed to have almost as bad a childhood as Goren did. It's sounding like to be a detective on Major Case you have to have a crappy childhood or something. LOL I do love Chris Noth the actor, though. Enjoyed the original L&O mainly for him and Jerry Orbach as well but once Logan left, I got bored with the show for some reason. And nobody flame me but while I love watching VDO and he is my favorite actor, Noth is the one who I get all weak in the knees over. LOL He's one gorgeous man and I never even had to watch even one episode of Sex In The City to discover that. LOL I just wish they'd let Logan go naturally gray like they are with Goren. Being 47 years old, I find that to be much more attractive. LOL -------------------- "Reality is just a collective hunch." Lily Tomlin

*waves hands*
I'm too young for S&TC, lol (only 19), and that's not my type o' show anyway, but I've seen him in reruns on the L&O "Flagship" *chuckles* and he's GREAT! I too think his persona isn't an exact match for LOCI, but it's nice to watch him. I didn't like him on CI at first, lol. S'far as looks, he's no Vincent. -------------------- Signature picture removed, IT IS TOO BIG, please reduce significantly
