When it comes to Tori, there's no such thing as "filler"... I'm adding this to my list of things you'll have to learn.
I saw someone (probably you) talking about her on the music thread. I'll definitely give her a try. But once someone told me that Bjork was like Tori, so I listened to her .... and wanted to pull my ears off. blink.gif

Don't worry, I won't take offense if you don't like it. smile.gif

Yep, I'm afraid that I'm an undomesticated bachelor at the moment. I'm pretty bad about refilling ice cube trays, throwing my dirty clothes in the hamper, replacing empty toilet paper rolls etc. Maybe you should make this list of yours into a topic. laugh.gif

Fun to find a person with similar tastes.

John Legend is one of the greatest. His voice... wub.gif
I am jealous of you, lol, tell me how he is in concert!

I like Robin Thicke's CD. "Complicated" is my favorite on the CD. What about you?

My favorite song on the CD is "Teach You A Lesson"..its so seductive..i love it! wink.gif

I've actually seen JLegend twice..he's GREAT in concert!!! He puts on a good show. He sounds just like he does on his CDs..which for me is always a plus when seeing artists live. I don't like getting disappointed at live shows...he DID NOT disappoint! =)

I'm already a step ahead of you.

Ice cube trays - replace current fridge with one that has an automatic icecube maker (or start using the one that's already in there!)
Dirty laundry on the floor - carry around bottle of Fabreeze. Dirty laundry suddenly becomes clean. And it's already out of the closet, ready for use!
Toilet paper rolls - switch to the double rolls, thus reducing the need to replace it by 50%.

CrushOnJim - I'll let you know what I think! If you couldn't already tell, I like a very wide variety of music. So chances are I'll like her.

part of being picked on means that you now hold the torch to pick on other people..circle of life laugh.gif

She Wants Revenge is currently the album I listen to the most. I love every song on it! The Cure, The Smiths, The Smithereens, I've got them all. Golden oldies now though... smile.gif

You're right Darth Schrute, some of those have aged a bit. I saw the Smithereens in concert when I was in college, and that was in '90 or '91. I always thought Pat DiNizio was hot.

ohmy.gif The Cure, The Smiths and Duran Duran should NOT be on a list of guilty pleasures!!! I LOVE the Cure!

I figured I had better try to justify some of these cuz I was sure I would be teased (at least about Duran2 tongue.gif ). The Cure have always been one of my favorite bands. Did you ever see them live? That would have been a great show! None of my friends were really into them, some couldn't stand their music at all. I just told them they had no taste wink.gif .

Sharladawn, have you ever listened to Charlotte Martin? She is a newer artist, but has some similarities to Tori Amos. Some Tori fans love her music, others don't.
You should check her out. On Your Shore and the newest album Stromata are good ones to start with.

Just put her On your Shore CD on hold at the library. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm so glad to see a bunch of people on here who like 80s music (and not of the hair-band variety)! This makes me feel slightly less ashamed of the more than 2,000 songs of this variety that I've loaded to my iPod... some of these are arguably as inane as all get-out, but others (such as anything by Joy Division) are still masterful.

My more "unique" music strays from this quite a bit though - I have a real weird affection for super-twangy Cajun music. Has anyone ever heard of "Kermit Venable and the BeauBassin Band" or Wayne Toups? I swear, no matter where I am, I blast some of this, and it's Mardi Gras!

Then, when this doesn't cut it, Louis Armstrong (anything he ever did) and Nat King Cole are never out of place. I just adore that beautiful, soulful music - heck, I love the movies, the clothes, everything from that era!

How cool - another fan! JD's time was too short - I like the stuff the other band members did in New Order, but some of that creepy dark magic was gone when Ian Curtis killed himself.

For some reason, I have a random mix of Joy Division and Ween (Pure Guava) that I always like to play together. Something about the weird voices maybe (or maybe I just need the humor as a relief after a couple of dark tunes). If you're feeling eclectic, that might be a combo you would like...

Hey, OH - the work gods were appeased with a VERY late, very fast drive to FedEx... because I made it, I'm giving myself a work-free night (well, a work-free couple of hours before I lapse into a coma).

Thanks for noticing - I'm touched! smile.gif
