Here is some of the stuff on my ipod that I'm slightly embarassed to have:
-both High School Musical soundtracks (and yes I know every single word)
-NSync (including their Christmas album haha)
-Backstreet Boys
-O Town (these last three kind of go together)

I don't know that I have anything to be really embarrassed over. I have lots of 90's hair metal (Skid Row, Warrant) and the like, but I'm not embarrassed by it (although my husband thinks I should be! PS--I'm 33).

I do have I Want it That Way (Backstreet) and Oops I Did it Again (Britney), but here is my theory. You don't have to like the collective work of a band/artist, but you can like a song here and there. I will not go see Britney in concert, but that song is darn catchy!

I've actually been thinking that for a long time, and I'm glad I said it.

As close as it gets to guilty pleasures for me is William Shatner and I have them on my iPod as a joke so does that really count? I have Def Leppard but only 3 of their good songs. Oh, I have a Britney Spears, Toxic on my iPod too but that is the only song of hers I will lesten too though.

I'm not sure if I have guilty pleasures.

I see Sharpshruter and BlueTurfBronco had added their playlists. The question for the two of you is though, which of those songs if any are you embarrased to have on your iPods. Which ones would your friends and family tease you over?

My friends tease me over the 80's pop on my iPod - Banarama, Duran Duran, Cyndi Lauper, etc. My family think the inclusion of Willie Nelson is a bit strange.

Well, here it goes (pops knuckles)

Wow, so many of your songs would be on my essentials list as well. Actually, I'd say 75% of them would be. I'd have to give some thought to mine, as well as what's on my mp3 player...post tomorrow, I guess.

This isn't on my ipod, but my dentists. And how, you may be wondering, do I know what's on my dentists ipod? Well, I was at his office today getting 2 cavities filled. They have started offering ipods to the patients during the drilling and such, it was actually pretty cool. Anyway, there was a playlist titled "Randy's Playlist" which included, "My Hump" and some Air Supply songs, among others. Mind you, my dentist is in his early 30's. I'm sorry, but a man having Air Supply on his playlist? Not acceptable.

I'm very embarrassed to say, but I do have a Hannah Montana song on my ipod blush.gif BUT in my defense, it's one of my work-out songs.

RC, I fully support your love of 80s music (I have these that you listed and a whole lot more - in fact, there are nearly 2,000 songs in my 80s folder alone - all of it along the New Wave and Punk varieties).

And I have a sizeable catalog of Willie Nelson music as well. His version of "Blue Skies" is one of my all-time favorites!

Now, as I was hiking through the abyssmal weather, my iPod (on "shuffle") played a couple of songs in row that were pretty incongruous, but that all pleased me nevertheless:

"With a Little Luck" (Paul McCartney and Wings)
"Cobrastyle" (The Teddybears)
"Brand New Colony" (The Postal Service)
"Mastermind" (Daniel Ash)
"They'll Soon Discover" (The Shins)
"Baker Street" (Jerry Rafferty)
"Show Show" (The National)
"Love Cats" (The Cure)

(Yeah, it is kind of an embarrassing list...)

I don't have an Ipod but I do have iTunes and I have to say that the weirdest song I have on there is "Do the Bartman"

--------------------

We're very lucky in the band in that we have two visionaries - David and Nigel. They're like poets, like Shelley and Byron. They're two distinct types of visionaries; it's like fire and ice, basically. I feel my role in the band is to be somewhere in the middle of that, kind of like lukewarm water.
