Does your husband tolerate Yanni being played in the house? If so you should probably hang on to him because that is true love. No. But he did endure taking me to see him in concert. Now that's love. -------------------- |

...just anything but country. I used to say that too, until Lisa Marr and Neko Case came along. Sorry, these are both bootleg clips, and not of the highest quality, but you get the idea. Just tune in to Neko to hear what she has to say about boys who wear girls pants. Also, you really can't go wrong with a little Conway Twitty in your collection. (How do I dedicate that one to Officionada without making it look like we're having an affair? Oh, that'll do nicely) -------------------- I do not think that is funny

What's an iPod?
No! Just kidding! I know what they are, but I really don't have one. I got a computer after all my friends, was a cell-phone holdout for a long time, and just got around to buying a DVR (so I could record The Office, of course!)...so I'm sure an iPod is in my future eventually. -------------------- I did not violate an Indian burial ground. -Toby Flenderson

I don't have an ipod so Ill go by Windows Media, and Im going by bands rather then songs. and I don't listen to the same stuff as most of the people on here either....but anyways here are SOME of the bands.
Sevendust Silverchair Rage Against the Machine Nonpoint Ill Nino Metallica Flaw Five.Bolt.Main Shinedown Sinch Living Coulour Seether Chevelle 10 Years Fear Factory Breaking Benjamin Filter Audioslave Audiovent 12 Stones Offspring Pantera Tool Megadeth Mudvayne Incubus Ra Stereomud Soundevice Spineshank Stone Sour Slipknot SOAD Tantric Trust Company Staind Drowning Me That's some of them and some rap... but good rap, not "just add a beat to it and say shake your *** and it will sell" rap that's been coming out. |

I <3 the shins, talkaboutstank (haha). did you know they have a new album coming out in a week or two?? my favorite shins songs are "gone for good" or "those to come."
I have over 6000 songs. . .so I won't even attempt to list bands. but has anyone here heard of Madeline Adams? I got her CD, Kicking and Screaming, last summer and I haven't stopped listening to it since. Her website is http://www.madelinesongs.com/ and you can get some of her songs she played in the Bike Barn if you search google (try "uncle's got a sweetheart"). she's so excellent. maybe a little country, a lot folksy, extremely poetic and also very fun. in a month she had surpassed all others (even death cab and jimmy eat world) in my most-played list. ~Holly |

wow, that's a lot of songs. I had a roommate who was big on Tori Amos, but I haven't listened to a lot of her stuff. Death Cab is my #1 favorite band, flaws and all. I saw them live a few weeks ago in Phoenix and they just. . .were beyond amazing. They played Company Calls Epilogue, which is probably my favorite DCFC song, and in the middle was a 7 minute musical interlude. gah! amazing! Oh man, is anyone in to Brand New? Their new album, "The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me" just came out a few weeks ago and it. . .I can't even describe it. It is one of the most impressive albums I've ever heard. All of their stuff is magnificent and heart breaking. Other awesome bands I love: *Modest Mouse *Bright Eyes (sometimes) *Postal Service *Arcade Fire *Alkaline Trio *Social Distortion *The Decemberists I'll think of more later. now it's back to work |

has anyone ever heard of the shins? they're really good How weird that you should ask this. I just started listening to them the other day- I can't believe I never did before. They're so good! I'm thinking about buying all of their cd's one at a time (in order of course) Plus I don't have the money to buy all of them at one time -------------------- |

The Shins are brilliant. They have a new album coming out in, like, just a few minutes. They're also on tour right now. Tickets for Milwaukee go on sale tomorrow.
Gone for Good is one of my favorites too. I just finally learned how to play it. It's simple, but effective. There's a clip of them playing it live in the studio on youtube. I'd link it, but there's a swear word in it, and I don't want to be a bad influence. -------------------- I do not think that is funny

I thought their new album didn't come out until January 23rd or something? I know you can already download it on iTunes though. Somebody leaked it over a month ago. Bands are smart to allow downloading of pre-sales. Lucero did that with their last one. Not only did they let me download it the second my credit card went through, they also mailed it immediately, so I had the actual CD in my hand two weeks before the release date. It doesn't hurt them, I appreciate the gesture, and now I'm telling you how awesome Lucero is. Win-win-win. If you bother to click on the link, check out "I can get us out of here tonight". Gareth's favorite band, Rainer Maria, also did something like that for "Long Knives Drawn". He'll be crushed to know that they broke up last month. -------------------- I do not think that is funny

Speaking of The Shins, I have totally rediscovered Chutes. Maybe it's because I have been listening to Inverted every day for 3 months.
Rainer Maria broke up? Dang it. Who's Rainer Maria? -------------------- ![]() |
