Probably the only song i would be ashamed that people knew i had on my ipod is Kelly Clarkson-Since youve been gone.

I would like to state for the record that i did not buy it, a friend gave it to me.

Damnn that catchy song.

Rainer Maria broke up? Dang it.

Who's Rainer Maria?
I could swear that you once made fun of me for admitting that I like them...Or are you just making fun of the fact that they never gained the popularity that reviewers projected they would attain?

If you bother to click on the link, check out "I can get us out of here tonight".

OK, so maybe the title of the song should be "I can get us out of here tonight - or maybe tomorrow morning at the latest".

Classic Halpert - I like Cranberries, and while I am a girl, I don't like just girly music (although the following list of music may prove otherwise).

Here's what I have:

Lots of Bright Eyes, Damien Rice and Sufjan Steven (can't really get enough of any of these!)
Bluegrass/country/folk from Emmylou Harris, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks
Rock and Classic rock from Led Zeppelin, U2, Guns n' Roses, the Beatles, Counting Crows, Pearl Jam and Fleetwood Mac
Classical by Handel, Mozart, Mahler and many others
Random stuff that I like to spin to - Monsoon Wedding soundtrack, ABBA, Shakira

I also listen to pandora.com, which introduces you to new music based on current preferences - check it out, it's free!

Well, yeah, they're girly, but I still like some of their songs. "How" and "Reason" are two of my favorites. I'm not sure why I never bothered to buy anything after their first album.

Oooh that song. Heard it for the first time about 2 years ago and probably 100 times since then. No matter how many times I hear it though, I cant change it. Its addicting and I'm still not sick of it. Seriousley, I would put it on repeat and listen to it like 6 times in a row. Ridic. I think I'm ashamed of having Jesse Mccartney on my ipod as well as BBMak. Oh and pretty much every Nsync song ever made. They remind me of 5th grade haha.

yeah, no kidding. i have the albums - i think robert plant and jimmy page are a little snooty about releasing the rights to apple and others. i heard something one time that they never released any of their music as singles because they wanted the album heard as a whole, so that might have something to do with why there's no led zeppelin on itunes.

Ah, yes, that was from the good old days when the album was considered an art form, and songs chosen for the album were not just about making money. Also, the order of songs on an album was important as well. I have several that I still listen to on vinyl for that very reason.

Thanks for the inspiration, Lerrin!

I agree with everything you just said, except that you were talking about Led Zepplin. I can't stand them.

There are still a few bands now who know how to put together a complete album. The only problem is, you've never heard of them, because they haven't had a hit single.

Holy god, amen to that.

It seems like everyone is a fan, and it drives me nuts. And yes, I've heard of that Screeching Weasel song.

For a solid album, look up The Mars Volta. (This is officially the millionth time I've brought them up)

Just finished putting songs on my new iPod last night (early, EARLY this morning)... here are the things I'd never want ANYONE to know I have on there, so everyone stop reading now! wink.gif

N'sync
Backstreet Boys
Britney Spears
Clay Aiken
Dog Star
(Keanu Reeves's band)
Donny Osmond (Hey, I'm from Utah!)
Justin Timberlake
Lord of the Rings: Return of the King Sdtk
Monster Ballads (can't get enough love ballads from those danm 80's hair bands!)
Newsies Soundtrack
Tori Amos - I absolutely LOVE Tori, and I'm not embarrassed that she's on my iPod, but I AM embarrassed that I have over a day and a half of just her on there.

I have an office mix:

- all the police songs ever played on the office
- The Kanas song playing in Cocktails
- the theme song
- all of the songs that were ever sung by the characters
- then songs that remind me of JAM

depending on what mood I am in.. these sets of songs can me me laugh, cry, shout... really the whole gambit of emotions

some how this embarasses me and I will not let anyone elese listen to the play list it is very funny actually
