Yes, that has now become a instant classic in my family. All night long we were like, "Answer the question, Fran". You had to see her face when she read the card out loud. Then she was telling him that she wanted lobster. But we were eating raviolis and Jay was like, "It has to be something at this table, Fran". laugh.gif Then she caught on!
rolling.gif That kid is amazing! How did he learn to write so well???

At first I thought your mom was Fran Drescher, but I know she doesn't have any kids. laugh.gif

Now i'm off to go watch F1 racing while making my mom a card and breakfast....I am so lucky we drove to PA yesterday. Now she'll definantly sleep in and I have time to do something for her. I feel like a bad daughter. I don't have anything prepared!

No, here's the bad daughter story. Ok, this week we also had my dad's birthday and my parent's anniversary, so we celebrated all of them today. I bought ALL the cards, the ones my parents give to each other, as well as the ones from my siblings and I. I thought I remembered buying 2 Mother's Day cards last year, so I didn't buy a new one. Unfortunately, that must have been 2 years ago, and I used the extra card last year, so I didn't have a card for her. sad.gif

My mom saves all of her cards because she likes to look through them occasionally, so I looked in her card box, took out last year's Mother's Day card and stuck it in an envelope and gave it to her.

Oh, and the envelope I used? From my dad's birthday card from last year, I crossed off Dad and wrote Mom.

Anyway, we got her got 2 dozen pink roses, my sister and I made a spaghetti dinner, a Lowe's gift card, and I got an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen, because that's the cake my dad always wants.

That's not being a bad daughter--that's being an overworked, super caring daughter. And seriously, your brother and sister can't get off their a$$es and buy their own cards?

I've actually been thinking that for a long time, and I'm glad I said it.

My Aunt Angela is the bestest because she buys me toys for me. She is kind to me. She is friendly to me. But the mostest thing is she loves me. You are loving flowers. You smell like flowers on you. I love you and you love me. Do you? Finish the sentence on this line. Yes I love you, too.

This is a card for great aunt's day. It's on Sunday--there are hearts and flowers and they are pink and purple and at the back of the book is a poem for Aunt Angela day. Love Jay

wub.gif
Yes, I cried a little when he gave it to me.

Wedd... how wonderfully sweet. I'm teary-eyed, too.

I've been told by Supergirl that she and her daddy are going to the library at 4pm. This was accompanied by much winking on the part of her daddy. wink.gif

Oh, and she told me I could take a nap while they're gone. laugh.gif

laugh.gif that's a gift in itself!

Pre Mother's Day present for you guys. I made cupcakes again.
Some close ups:

thanks Hottest! I think anyone capable of making these should automatically be admitted to whatever school she wants. wink.gif

My cards were awesome. A funny one from my son, and a hilarious, hand-made totally original Office-themed card from my daughter. wub.gif

Hottest, those cupcakes are gorgeous - you really have talent at this (and I wish you lived close-by... I now realize that my day will not be complete without cupcakes)!

Wedd, those cards Jay made are just wonderful - I'm not surprised anymore at how intelligent he is, but he is (or can be!) so sweet and aware of what you do for him!

I got a little bit of original writing with my mother's day presents this year:

1. A set of paper flowers with chores written on them (that the girl will do for me when I "redeem" them), with reasons why she felt I needed these:
- Clean the guest room (So grandma won't call mama a slob).
- Do the dishes (So we won't get sick and die from germs).
- Set the table (Because the family needs to practice good manners).

2. I also received a very large stick that she'd peeled the bark off of and colored with crayons. Why did I get a large stick? "So mama can hit the mean neighbor dog, and so her old knees don't hurt when she walks."

(For the record, I have never hit, and have no intention of hitting, the mean neighbor dog.)

Ha! They took my very sad and dirty MDX out and had it washed, vacuumed, and waxed. It needed it VERY badly. happy.gif They also came home with a balloon, and some roses. The next morning I got some very nice Mothers Day cards. Someone also did all the dishes, carried up all the laundry, and then took his girls out to dinner. wub.gif wub.gif

Yeah, I just decided with a friend that we will open a cafe with attached bakery. It will also sell pastries and chocolates. Still considering ice cream.

Free WiFi.

I got this for my mom:

She called me yesterday and said she really likes it. I got her both the canvas and the stand, but she says she'll probably just hang it on the wall tongue.gif. Oh well... at least she likes it smile.gif.

^^^ AND my daughter had a week (+) of listening to the MIL-from-Heck complain about everything she saw here at the house (I now have a pretty good idea about some of the areas the woman was targeting). Poor little girl, she's trying to save me from myself!

MB, I really like the present that your family did for you - and I'll bet your daughter was completely charged up about giving this to you. Little kids are so earnest (and so happy to accept all the comendations, no matter how large or small their share of the present) - it's a hoot!

And Snooks, that present for your mom is lovely - it was probably a tough Mother's Day for her, having you so far away.

Happy Mothers day!

My sister and I woke up early, & I didnt forget a card or anything this year, due to F1 tongue.gif
We made her Scrambled eggs, with all her favorites, and for my sister, I made Strawberry Milkshakes. I ended up making for everyone, and we all had a nice big breakfast, with the two mommies in the house and children happy.gif
