I wonder if we're gonna see, "that was too controversial," blah blah... Indeed, the crowd was very sensitive. Conan has come back better than ever, writers or not. It seems like we're getting more into Conan, and that crazy guy Jim Kramer, playing music with the band, great stuff.

I'm a huge fan of Conan O'Brien, but was completely disgusted with his guest Bill Maher on the Jan 4th show.

I have no problem with the liberal celebrities expressing their political views. I feel they have every right to look as foolish as they want. I may not agree with them, but I can tolerate it.

But Mr. Maher seems to comes onto the show with an obvious agenda to bash Christianity. I don't consider myself an uptight Christian at all. I laugh at all kinds of things and love most of Conan's humor. But when Mr. Maher expressed the views he did tonight, I thought crossed the line. Once again I understand he has every right to express those views, but I have just as much right to turn off the program.

I will continue to watch Conan, but I will never watch the show again when I know Mr. Maher is scheduled as a guest.

I am so disgusted with anti-hillbilly remarks. I was listening to Conan's show while trying to go to sleep and Maher's comment about Fred Thompson being 'more retarded' than hillbillies made me sit straight up in bed. I am extremely proud of my Appalachian roots; it utterly infuriates me to hear 'celebrities' make comments that stereotype people based merely on ethnographic qualifications (a la Don Imus ... have we learned nothing here, people?). I'm not sure what other revelations this self-presumed omniscient 'comedian' made b/c I immediately changed the channel, but it couldn't have been anything worth hearing. His comment was so derogatory on so many levels and it is a real shame that people feel that they have to stoop to such a low level to make themselves feel superior. I know that hosts can't control what their guests have to say and I know that we all have freedom of speech, but there is a process called editing. I usually enjoy Conan's show, but sadly now I probably won't be watching it for quite a while ...

as a big fan of conan's, i can see that the producers have hit an all time low by booking a F-lister like bill maher. maybe if were lucky, some of those politically correct muslim extremist that have declared jihad on a God hating country such as America's liberal talk show host will buy up some of that discounted NBC airtime and be-head maher on late night so we can get more laughs than he got from tonights audience. Conan's facial expressions spoke volumes and I'm sure bill's made his last apperance on that show. but with the strike and all, I guess he has to book whoever no one else will. glad he is sticking to his guns to make the show less intertaining to show how important the writers are and need to acheive the contract listing for so he can continue on the roll he had before the strike.. Great job Conan for booking anti-American, God hating liberals during the eleciton time.. thanks for the continued support to the conservative groups you engage with.

Yeah, you have every right to turn it off, but I didn't find anything offended. These are jokes... And as for other stuff, not only did I agree, but Conan did as well. It was more serious than silly. But I guess with a name like liberals_suckhillary, there's an agenda, if it was the other way around you'd have no problem. Hypocrisy...

I wouldn't say the show was too controverial. I just thought Mr. Mahers comments about Christianity were offensive. I know lots of people enjoy taking shots at people of faith, and I'm willing to stand up and defend what I believe. For some reason, it seems like it's almost acceptable to take these shots at Christians.

I respect other peoples points of view, but I believe there is a line that doesn't need to be crossed. If NBC and Conan choose to have Mr. Maher on their show again, I for one will not be watching. You can make fun of my beliefs and the stand I'm taking, but I will always stand up for my faith.

no, i wouldn't have a problem.. name isn't because of being an independant and not a liberal supporter, its because of the enormous amount of contributions that she is recieving from China.. so i thought if the shoes fit, wear them, so the name fit my thought being as this turned into a anti-Christian, anti-American bunch of propaganda that wasn't recieved well.. more educated and informed people like you and I understand this I am sure.

Dear Conan,

Lose the writers. Your show is better than ever....au naturale!!!
Your beard? I like you better without it but you are still looking good!!!

Bill Mayer? How did he get a show of his own. He has no basis for his bashing Christianity.
I would love to hear what he has to say about Islam or the Jewish religions.

Conan, please leave Jesus alone. It's just in poor taste. You have enough character to pick on. I don't want to stop watching but will if that continues.

Thank you for this opportunity to contact you. Happy New Year!!!!

I'm just greatly amused by how narrow minded Maher is. Pot? Kettle.

It is indeed possible to enjoy both Conan AND Leno. :)

I can't believe what Bill Maher said. I used to think he was entertaining, but he just doesn't give a crap anymore.

My brother and I noticed that Conan looked somewhat uncomfortable during the interview, and as a Catholic, I would too. I thought what Bill Maher said was offensive and I will not be watching Conan again if he has Bill Maher on (that episode in which he appears).

Conan - you have every right to be upset and we were slackjawed with disbelief as well. eff Bill Maher. Thanks for Cramer after that to lighten the mood.

NBC: Take note of what these people are saying.

if this ole boy is so outspoken on his religous views, how come we never hear him down grading Jihad?? I will tell you why. Because they would cut his head off and put it on Youtube. He don't bash Jews because he works for them, and he knows Christians will only protest peacefully. I think that would really be NBC MUST SEE TV if we could get him on his show and speak so much vile about those terrorist that would take him out. That should be a pay-per-view event!

I have loved Conan and his show from the very first episode. Late Night is one of my favorite shows and I have always given a lot of respect and credit to Conan for his unique wit. However, tonight I felt betrayed. Conan allowed that bigot Bill Maher to rant hatefully against Christians and did absolutely nothing to stop or even mitigate it. Conan sat there like a coward while Maher insulted what would have to be a large section of Late Night's viewers. I am just as outraged at Conan's apathetic response as I am to Bill Mahar's unprovoked hate-speech. I may have watched my last episode Late Night tonight.

Bill Maher was terrible. I'm pretty sick of celebrities making a point to bash Christianity, or anything for that matter. There was nothing that came out of Bill's mouth that was positive about anything. Conan never asked him about his beliefs... So let just leave it alone, okay? All Bill Maher showed was how uneducated he was about Christianity. The only funny part about that show was Conan and Jim Cramer yelling back and forth. Jim Cramer should be on more often! But let's forget about asking Bill Maher back on the show again.

The person who books Conan's show has to book whoever is willing to cross the WGA picket line, and alot of the show's "first choice" guests have chosen to stand in solidarity with the writers and thus stay off the show.

As for Bill Maher, he is entitled to his opinion and I admire him for not being afraid to firmly state what he believes, even though it might offend some (or a lot) of people. There's no reason to feel personally threatened by anything he said. He's been stating those very same opinions on his own show for years now. I didn't think there'd be any reason for Conan, NBC, or the general public to be surprised by any of it.

Well, like some said, Conan went on, said he believed in evolution, etc.. What I'm saying is Conan knows what Bill Maher is going to talk about, so maybe he agrees with him, but since he's in a tough position where he can't always speak his mind, sometimes agreeing, nodding, is all he can do.
