To make a point, must I sit here and list all the hideous things Lucas did to Sami.
EJ was raised a Dimera and as his father told him, he must go after what he wants
no bars hold. EJ was fascinated with Sami from the start....then the obsession as
you call it (I call it the Dimera MO) took over, then given the opportunity EJ found
he not only desired Sami, he loved her. I will not go into the r---- again. It's
pointless with some but what I have observed is a man who little by little fell in
love with someone, did what he felt he had to do to have her, found out that was
not the right approach, sat back and looked at how the Dimeras handled things
versus how the rest of the world handles things, he changed from the Dimera ways
and now is waiting patiently until the woman he loves finally realizes she loves him
with the same passion he loves her. What a glorious moment that will be and when
she says I Love You Too! hopefully the debate will finally end.

Oh, for the love of SOAP, Thank you for nailing this DOWN !!! Well said, sofasu.

EJ loves Sami, and underneath the DiMera name brand, he is his own man, which is a gentle, strong, loving man, and THAT is the man that has come to the surface for Sami....because he LOVES her. EJ has evolved from the DiMera MO into the EJ MO, which is what we have seen from EJ in the last year. I think that is self-respect to the nth degree. He has denied his father's legacy for the woman he loves.

If loving a woman and being determined to win her and keep his family together is pathetic to you, soaper, well, sorry for ya.

Take a good look at his face when he is with Sami, and compare it to when he is with Nicole. You can see the difference. Sami = Love.

This is exactly how I feel. Ej was raised by Stefano to be another Stefano pawn, his love for Sami caused him to question all he was raised to be and believe. Love redeemed him. Thanks!

Quoted for the 3rd time because this summation is THAT GOOD!! biggrin.gif wink.gif

IMO, the hideous crap that Lucas did to Sami in the past (attempted murder x 2, anyone?) was even less understandable, since he was not raised by a monster named Stefano. He was just a spoiled, bratty rich kid who didn't want Sami to have control. No need to waste your time listing it all, though. It will all be justified, and badly.

I have observed a man try one trick after another to keep a cow, and I just cannot figure out why. How can he let her stomp all over him, screeching and mooing? Has he no pride?

Well, I think he does and that after he has seen how Sami is so willing to USE him (you know, since I can't have Lucas I may as well have you), he WILL be like Rhett Butler: over it.

And moving on with Nicole. wub.gif

excellent post. I agree with you 100% Lucas has known for a while that Sami has feelings for EJ and he chose to ignore it. He now sees that their relationship was toxic and he is tired of living that life. He is bowing out and I have to respect him for doing that. He is moving on with Chloe. As for EJ, he is finally on the verge of getting what his heart desires, Sami. That does not make him pathetic, it makes him a man in love. They were finally honest in that stairwell and it was refreshing. Nicole would always be second choice. What woman wants that. To know that your man loves another woman and is only settling for you because he can't have her. I know I wouldn't.

Your last sentence fits Ejami as well. What man would want a woman who openly admits that she loves another man? Didn't she come right out and tell EJ that she could settle for him because Lucas had dumped her? Didn't she tell him that she could make no promises? I don't know any guys or gals who would let themselves be part of that. How could he ever trust her enough that if Lucas looked her way again that she wouldn't deny him and want Lumi? Sami has been written as a twit and needs to be alone for awhile.

Yep. Men don't like anything easy in the romance department, although they do appreciate easy sex when they can't have what they really want (hear that, Nicole?).

When Sami says I love you to Ej then I might belive that she actually has feelings for him. Not!!! I don't buy anything she says right now. Ej [has to pratically beg Sami for any affection...she has thrown in his face for two years she loes Lucas... The only reason she is going for him is bc she feels she has to move on bc she feels Lucas doesn't want her..I don't believe that's true..like others.I believe Sami and Lucas truly love one another..I won't buy this Ejami bit and even if she did say she love dhim it would prolly be in some kind of forced situation..there is a big difference between the l word and feelings Everybody sing with me now I've got feelings....don't ya know I've got feelings..put there by obnoxious gasses sent out by the Dimeras...Feeelinggsss hehehehehe

shoot, all ej had to do to get sami to sleep with him the first time was pick her sorry butt on the side of the road. i wouldn't call that difficult sex by any stretch of the imagination. i don't remember sami ever being an especially difficult "lay" in the past either.

anyway, at least nicole has a history of sexual abuse that somewhat excuses her behavior. you probably don't know this, but women who have experienced sexual abuse are often promiscuous. most especially when they've been abused by a relative, they equate sex with love.

The second half of this is not entirely correct......I have worked with several women who were abused as children by relatives, including fathers...they seem to be withdrown and have alot of trouble in relationships because they relate intimacy with violence. They live miserable, lonely, loveless lives because marriage includes the intimacy in which they cannot accept due to horrific childhood events.

not all abuse victims react the same way. i knew women who had been abused by relatives that slept with a different guy every night. psych classes teach that they do this to minimize the meaning of sex. in other words, if they make sex a meaningless act that they'll do with any old guy, then they think what happened to them as a child won't be that big of a deal. what they really need is therapy, but that's a whole other discussion.

point is, every person reacts differently. clearly nicole's response to the abuse she suffered is to seek love/acceptance through sexual relations. her past as as a promiscuous woman is clearly linked to the horrific sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of her father and the other men he pimped her out to as a young girl. you don't have to be a psychologist to see that.

i'm aware that nicole is a fictional character, but it is disturbing to see so many people throw around the words sl ut, wh0re, tramp etc in reference to her. what happened to her at the hands of her psychotic father is not a joke, nor something to be brushed over lightly. i'm not saying anyone has to like her, but a little sensitivity towards abuse victims would be nice.

My point here was exactly that pertaining to abuse victims...they are unpredictable victims, who unfortunately will spend their lives battling this abuse, especially if it comes at the hands of the people whom you trust most in the world. Thankfully the strong overcome and can lead normal - happy lives, unfortuantely too many never find this fullfillment whitin their lives. This as well is not relating to this character. With that said, ones who choose to be Nicole fans must expect with her past on this show, that she is going to be referred to in such a manner. It appears so personal with so many that these reference are made when in fact the writers chose to portray her in this manner. With this SL her fan base should not take offense as to the route her character was written.

You weren't quoting me but I would like to respond to your post regardless.

EJ can get his pride and spine back but he can't do that while he is begging for scraps from a woman that is openly in love with another man.

What makes EJ different when he is with Nicole is that he doesn't have to check his self-respect at the door in order to be with her.

Are you serious?? OMG NO! I have never ever EVER been forced to have sex with a man that claimed to love me. EVER! I have also NEVER been belittled during sex. And yes, I have been married for 15 years next month, and have been in loving relationships with several men before I was married.

I am 45 years old, and have never been treated so horribly by a man that loved me. One time, and one time only, was I mistreated by a man that I was dating. He attempted to physically hurt me. I ran from him, and never saw him or spoke to him again.

Well Ej has been pretty open with Nicole as well that he loves Sami, and Nicole knows that and still goes after him as well. He even said her name while doing the nasty in the elevator. The situations are almost similar. He may not have to check his self-respect at the door to be with Nicole, but I would recommend monthy check ups at least.
