EJ loves Sami, and underneath the DiMera name brand, he is his own man, which is a gentle, strong, loving man, and THAT is the man that has come to the surface for Sami....because he LOVES her. EJ has evolved from the DiMera MO into the EJ MO, which is what we have seen from EJ in the last year. I think that is self-respect to the nth degree. He has denied his father's legacy for the woman he loves.

If loving a woman and being determined to win her and keep his family together is pathetic to you, soaper, well, sorry for ya.

Take a good look at his face when he is with Sami, and compare it to when he is with Nicole. You can see the difference. Sami = Love.

IMO, the hideous crap that Lucas did to Sami in the past (attempted murder x 2, anyone?) was even less understandable, since he was not raised by a monster named Stefano. He was just a spoiled, bratty rich kid who didn't want Sami to have control. No need to waste your time listing it all, though. It will all be justified, and badly.

We get it! He raped her. It's not something that you can easily forget. But let me point out something to you since you insist on bringing up the rape over and over and over again. Let me point out the fact that Ejami's chemistry is so powerful that there is a huge fanbase of women that is more than willing to over look the rape inorder to see this couple come together. Of course rape is vile. I recently read the results of a survey that said most women would rather be brutally murdered than raped and have to deal with the aftermath.

I know it's been said before, but I feel the need to say it again. This is after all only a Soap Opera. If we wanted to apply the rules of real life to s/l, then every single adult on this soap deserves to be sent to prison without the possibility of parole. Even Sami stated that she is technically a rapist, but I still wish her character the best. Is it sick of me. Absolutely! But I just shrug my shoulders and tell myself it only a soap.

Bottom line, I AM NOT willing to overlook it and I am not alone.
Soaps are fiction but IMO what is hurting the ratings is the cavalier manner in which TPTB are willing to degrade the audience for plot driven drivel.

I want a soap that is compelling and yet doesn't insult my intelligence and that remark has to do with more than just the potential SL of a victim falling for her rapist and goes toward the bigger picture. Example: I hate it when people come back from the dead too.

EJ sure did a 180 but I'm hoping that EJ wakes up soon. The idea of him settling for emotional scraps from a woman that is in love with someone else is really a turn off.

Heck, I'm a John fan, I sure didn't like all he did to John, but I do believe in redemption, it is my favorite type of love story. That's where I disagree with the OP. Sami loves Lucas but she is in love with EJ. Lucas knows this, and it's why he left. EJ knows this, and also knows this is why Lucas left. Pretty much the whole town of Salem knows it. Once Sami figures out it's OK to be completely honest (the *I love you* part), it's full steam ahead for those 2.

That's fine...and I think its good that you're willing to be open-minded about his character changing, etc. However I don't feel as though he's rolling over and getting walked on - I'll be the first to admit he's waited a long time for Sami to come around (so have I! )...but deep down he's known in his heart that she had feelings for him and he was not willing to give up on her (I for one, love him for that). And now that he has received affirmation (her jealous fits over Nicole, their love-making, admitting she can't fight her feelings for him any longer) and now, the fact that Lucas is out of the picture (at least for now) why would he walk away from the love of his life?? Also, yes, Sami loves Lucas (I don't deny that) but I truly believe that EJ is the one she is in love with. But we all have our own opinions on that...we just have to wait and see who tptb want her with in the end! I'm personally routing for an EJAMI happily-ish ever after ending!!!

Well get your giggle now,,cause when the Ejami train comes through the station hold onto your hat!!Ej has been waiting for Sami to admit her feelings,she stated QUITE plainly Friday,that she PUSHED the feelings ASIDE!!She had them when ole Lucas returned and she had them when the white lies came out,,and when Lucas tries to take the baby I hope Sami FINALLY realizes that Lucas has been trying to take her kids since Will was 5!!ANd she realizes that its WAY over.Go EJAMI!!
