Full Version: Dear NBC Execs....
NBC > NBC Extras > NBC Vault > Late Night Vault > Late Night with Conan O'Brien
DeMoss
I had a sweet and sappy dream about Conan last night. While that may sound creepy, I'm really not obsessed - I promise - that's just what happens when you fall asleep with his show playing in the background.

But the dream led me to read up on his career and bio, and I came across the following thread which concerned me: http://www.tvtalkshows.com/board/showthrea...ead.php?t=34337.

This thread was proof that I'm not the only person who feels the same way. For the past few years, although it's been better this year, it has seemed Conan was just going through the motions and the show had lost a lot of its spontaneity. Everything was recycled material.

When he's in a good mood, Conan is brilliant and witty and everyone enjoys watching "him", the man. An example of this was when he did the "dead stare" a few weeks back (when Bruce Willis was a guest, I think) and then would break into a smirk - that was the most sincere emotion I'd seen from him in a while...it was GREAT!

But when Conan gets in a rut or has an off day or maybe there are things going on in his personal life - the show comes off as stale and scripted. So this is my plea to the Execs at NBC to put someone in charge of making sure he is pumped up and excited and happy before each show - we can see the difference here at home. He is my favorite personality on tv - we should all be as lucky as Liza.

Thank you!

i know what u mean, i can usually tell when he's "going through the motions" or his heart isnt in it, but whenever he is really into it, u just know its a great show. the chocolate lucky charms one was one of those, when he first went into high def, i think, and a couple of ones i dont really remember...i dunno they're pretty rare lately. i also miss a lot of the old characters they used to have all the time too, though...like frankenstein, prep H raymond, masurbating bear...idk, that whole gang. they almost never appear anymore. its still a really great show, and i always look forward to those bursts of energy.

Hmm, I don't agree, guess Im not that critical.

Maybe NBC could bring in the Katzenjammer kids Hans and Fritz to 'pump' Conan up.

Hey, family -

First time reader, first time poster. I got motivated to join this board... although it's been ANNOYING with the constant pop-ups asking me to download Flash player! NBC = Tha Man, and evil. Remember when Conan said "NBC-Univerrrsal!" in that evil voice, before pulling the "Walker, Texas Ranger" lever?
NBC, you need to lighten up this website. Not everybody can afford Windows XP. I think Pierre Bernard should do a "Recliner of Rage" regarding cumbersome websites that want you to download stupid applications that slow down your computer.

Anyway, I love-love-LOVE Conan (only in a platonic way... no weird dreams... I'm a lesbian) and I LOVE that he sometimes involves the NBC Pages. Those are entry-level intern-looking kids in navy blue blazers who basically serve as ushers for the show. Several studios have Pages. I was a Page at Paramount Studios a few years ago, and just on a whim today, I started a blog for studio Pages to swap stories and commisserate about the often HIDEOUS nature of their work.

I hope I'm not wasting my time here... I really doubt that anyone here is in touch with NBC execs. But I just wanted to share the address of my blog with the NBC Pages. And I kinda doubt that any of them are reading this.

But can anybody help me out? Here's my blog. It's kinda funny. Not as funny as cactus chef playing "We Didn't Start the Fire" on a flute, but kinda funny.
