I am a fan of the Family Guy animated television show, it's very funny, and I enjoy owning and collecting the DVD releases. The first three seasons were available on DVD - Volume one contained seasons one and two, and volume two contained season three. Excited with the new season now airring on Fox, I was even more excited to learn that the volume 3 dvd collection had just hit store shelves. However, upon closer inspection, I have learned that rather than following the straight-forward format of releasing an entire season of Family Guy on DVD, they have broken the mould just for Volume 3 which only contains half of the episodes from the current season... it is very awkward to own 2 dvds for the first three seasons and then one more with only half a season included within. The empty space is filled with disappointing bonus features that i'd much rather half filled with the missing episodes. This is even more disappointing because the more entertaining episodes are later in the season and have not been included on this dvd set.
My bottom line?
Fox needs to treat their faithful fans with the respect the deserve, not be so money hungry and generate their profits from the sale of entire seasons of the show on DVD, even if we have to wait a little longer for them, rather than selling us incomplete seasons across several DVDs.
