Ok this isn't meant to be some heated debate but Ihave noticed for some reason it seems like the characters people have the most problems withare the ones with money. Why is there so much hate towards Katharine? I don't think she acted entitled in fact without Rachel's persuasion she was going to try and hide her feelings for martin. I see alot of hate towards Fancy and Gwen as well. These are just some examples. Katharine and Fancy haven't done anything wrong and Gwen hasn't done anything worse than Theresa(yes a debate but lets not turn the thread into that) Its just overall the wealthy characters are mocked and posters say things like poor little rich girl, having money is the first thing that they get berated for. Just want to hear people's thoughts, I am curious b/c this is a trend I have noticed.

People are rooting for Pilar because they feel sorry for her. Undoubtedly, it must be amazingly traumatizing to lose your husband without word for years on end. She ended up having to raise and support her family by herself until the children were old enough to help out a bit. Who wouldn't feel sorry for her. (Personally, I think Martin should stay with Katherine)

She was stupid enough not to see through her "spoiled by grampy's" eyes to praise and help Alistair when everyone told her what horrible things he has done to each of them.

I see your point. I think maybe it's because people with money USUALLY act a little different than people who don't have much. Never really thought about it, but you are right. As far as Fancy goes, I like her but she whines the same thing over and over. " OH, Noah, Why won't you tell me the truth." Sheridan does the same thing. As for Katherine. She never acted entitled to me. but I do wish she would keep her feeling to herself. As for Gwen. Not even gonna go there. LOL

In my opinion, that is ridiculous it has nothing to do with the money.
Fancy is a whiner and so is Sheridan to the point that it is so freakin annoying!
Katherine is a witch for what she said to Pilar on her wedding day and should be run over with a truck!
Gwen is an evil, spiteful and manipulitive liar.
It is the personality, not the almighty dollar.

I don't think it's the money either, i think it has more to do with the things the people do. for one i don't like Jessica and shes not rich. so its just really peoples additudes i go by.

Gwen Rules, we agree on one thing, sometimes people are bitter because of money. But I doubt that it's money that drives most people to hate these people, they all are rich but so what? They have the same hardships as everyone else, the thing that sets them apart is their checkbooks. I think that Fancy and Sheridan whine way too much but it has nothing to do with their money, it's common knowledge

Oh believe me chasing I would love nothing more than for Sheridan to get a good smach for her whining(for years now) and for someone to say shut up! I said earlier I wasn't naming names I just noticed that when a character with money is disliked a dig about them having money is made. When someone dislikes a poor person on the show they don't say "get a job hobo"(I know no one is that poor)but if they are rich you'll hear "poor little rich girl" or "you know you have money when". I can see valid reasons why characters are disliked (sheridan for whining) but I was only inquiring why their wealth has to be brought up if that isn't the reason people dislike them.

I didn't read anyone's post, but maybe because rich people think they are "IT". They think their better than everyone. They think they could get away with everything cause $ talks. Well maybe their are some nice people ou there.

I think it is many things. Some of it is jealousy, some of it is envy, and some of it is just that some *some* rich people act like they are the top of the world and we are the dirt they sweep off of their floors. Then you have really helpfull, friendly rich people who make their mark in the world by helping with their money.
