Hi everyone. I'm new to the message board. I've never actually seen the televison show before - due in part to the fact that I don't have a television set, but my co-workers seem to think that the show is ingenius. I'm sure that I would agree if I ever decide to purchase a television and sign on with a cable company. I'm wondering if I could pick up your television station with rabbit ears. I should really look into that. Anyhow, my co-workers were just telling me about 'hotel hockey', what a great idea! Take care everyone! Oh, by the way, I'm a visitor from Brasil and I really love America.

I can't describe how funny this show is! I don't know if you could pick it up. I thought nobody didn't have a TV.

Thank you Greg Garcia, Mark Buckland and cast for giving us a fresh, original, genuinely funny show in the vast meanspirited wasteland that television has become. Clever, offbeat -- there's always something that catches me by surprise and has me laughing out loud (Like Randy's "Ricola" call in the water tower last night). And how can you argue with a premise that has a character changing his ways to try to live a better life? I love it! Earl's wardrobe is also a blast from the past -- I remember that layered look style from the 70s....keep up the good work, all -- long may the series run!

Oh well yes that is true and that is what I thought as well when I came to California. In Brasil of course television shows are very popular to watch but not everybody has a television set.

You're right - My Name is Earl is by far one of the best series I've seen in years. It's on TV in my country too (Sweden) - two episodes shown so far - and I can't wait for the next! Awesome!!!

While I never really appreciated the intense wonder of Seinfeld, I can really enjoy the phenomenon that is Earl. I too could watch this show every day and I can't wait to get the seasons on DVD, but why the change to Thursdays?

I loved Seinfeld! I didn't care too much for the main character, but the rest of the cast made the show SUPER! What I was trying to say (Seinfeld vs. Earl) is that I hope that it stays around in syndication for just as long. I don't know why the change to Thursdays, dosen't really matter to me, I'll watch Earl, no matter what night it is on. I have all the episodes recorded on DVD, but I'll still buy the DVD set if it becomes available. I'm Addicted2Earl...lol

Hi
I watched "my name is earl" for the first time this week after seeing the photo of jamie pressly in FHM magazine. However, I was deeply disapponted with the trashy part she plays. This show is extremely mediocre and the first sign that imagination is seriously shallow is when they resort to the overplayed white girl-black dude scenario. The show loses all integrity and I refuse to watch. Its very insulting.

You don't like this show, but its ok to go on the show's website and give out about it!!!!
This is a great show, and loved by people all over the world (I'm from Ireland).
In my opinion, you should get a life and stop watching tv shows because you seen an actress in the show in a porn mag.

I couldn't have said it better Finneces. As long as the internet is available there will be "trolls" going to message boards devoted to a particuliar thing, and then start negative threads just to get the real fan all fired up. This board is pretty dead most of the time, but we still don't need that crap.
He/she can see pics of Jamie pressley in a mag, but slam her for A ROLE she plays in a TV Show??
My Name is Earl is a brilliant show, 1 less person watching won't make much of a difference. Good thing they have their magazines to look at....lol

I think your missing the point. This show is very Ironic (or sarcastic) if you will about certain ways of american life which is not often seen in america (as it is not often understood as it is in england where I live, or scotland even but not so much in wales or ireland). In my opinion it is very well written and does not suffer from the commitee system of writing used in most sitcoms in america much to their detriment. It is very much in the vein of many british comedies that have used sarcasm succesfully for many years (which is why it is quite succesfull over hear as much of our comedy seems to be very leftfield). I am not trying to be arsey or anything but I can see where the writer is coming from in that the main characters are not slick (or even they don`t come across as slimy) average people.
By the way FHM is about a million miles away from porn. It is however the most sucesfull export of the British "LadMags". However Loaded is the biggest in Britain (though it has gone majorlly downhill since the original writers sold it to a big publisher). I have been to Ireland and seen the stuff that is sold in newsagents over there. You cannot even get the Daily Sport (a newspaper that shows a lot of women with naked breasts!!!) So please don`t call FHM porn as it is just a run of the mill ladsmag!!!

Hi, kaylee!
Isn't it nice to have an ORIGINAL show for once, rather than a copycat of some so-called "reality show"? Heck, I think Earl is more "reality", we all probably know somebody that is like at least one of the characters on the show.

Had my first taste of Earl with the double episode last week. By the time the second episode came on I was hooked! My girlfriend and I can't stop repeating the sequence when the girl goes "We can go to the Farmers Market!", to which Earl replies, "The Who's What?". This will be etched in my comedic memory forever! Hence, the Display Name!
I just feel bad that I missed so much up until now.
And up until I read his bio I had no idea that Jason Lee was the friend in Vanilla Sky. He is great.

Firstly, I apologise, if I insulted anyone who buys FHM. But I am a fan of My Name is Earl and felt I had to defend it.
We do however get all the 'lads mags', daily sport etc. in Ireland. Pictures of scantily clad women are porn (even if it is soft porn) and I never said there was anything wrong with that!
Good Karma to all!

OH BOY! Here we go again!!
If ya don't like it, don't watch it!! I don't like "The Office" either, so when Earl is over, I change the channel.
Simple as that!!
West Wing was a good show...but it put it's time in...just like That 70's Show, it is indeed time to retire.

I love watching this show. I have been a Jason Lee fan since his Kevin Smith movie days. Those movies are a must see for JL fans. As others have said, if you don't like Earl, don't watch. As for The Office, I used to watched the original on BBC America. It was very funny. When it was made for an American audience, the first few episodes did nothing for me. However, that show has grown on me.

Hi all,
I was knocked out by the bee bee gun episode and the season finale. Ordered ny Earl truckers cap and for some reason it came next day air. I don't think I ordered it that way but it was good cuz I had it on for the bee bee gun episode. I just wish my Dwight Shrute Bobble Heads would come as quickly!

dont like it? dont watch it!
simple as. as for the office, can't believe they re-made it for an american audience!! if you dont get the humour, tough! why do american TV execs always do that?? Red Dwarf similarly re-made for an american audience! do you guys need subtle comedy spelling out for the masses?? they never re-made the "Pythons" yet they created a cult following over there! bizarre! cue americanist abuse!

OK... this is the first time I've every gotten enthusiastic enough about a TV show to post a message on a forum. This show is brilliant!!! The "Made a Lady Think I Was God" show was true to the charm of the show. The list is the heart of the show, please don't stray from it! Roseanne was Great! Gosh...the subteleties are what make the show - from Mr. Turtle to the guy with the electronic voicebox. This is the ONLY TV show I record on a regular basis! I only wish more people got it! Ya'll must spend a fortune clearing music copyrights. It would be cool to see the one-legged girl again - but Earl making it up with her is more like a series closer. Keep true to the heart of the show...play the intro. part where Earl says..."I'm just trying to be a better person, my name is Earl." Making up for past bad karma has heart...anyone (with heart) can resonate with that. I LOVE your show.
Best wishes,
-Brian

Sorry, but My Name is Earl can't possibly be "the best show on television," The Office already has that title. And that's the law according to the rules.
