She basically thanked everyone for watching and that they will see us again in the Fall.

"Con esto concluimos nuestra primera temporada de Earl. Estamos muy agradecidos con su acompa?amiento y anticipamos verlos el pr?ximo oto?o."
According to one translation program: "This concludes our first season of Earl. We are very grateful for your support and look forward to seeing you next autumn."

Thanks for sharing that info. Kinda cool to have a "secret message" for the fans.

Anyone have any idea where Catalina is from? I love her to death but the country where she's from must be the most outrageous place on earth.

It seems like she's from Mexico.
At the very least the Y2K episode made it look like she crossed the Mexican border.
However, on one of the recent summer reruns (Right Choice Ranch?) Earl says something in the voice over about her spending four days on a raft coming to this country.
I would imagine they're being intentionally ambiguous.

I used to like Catalina, but not so much anymore.

i watched the last show...cat larceny and it is like catalina had been wiped out the show because randy wanted a new gf and never talked about catalina and also joy's problem with the law was never mentionned....
was this week's show a left over show from last year?
Because it did not fit at all into current continuity and also the last two shows while being funny are barely passible as standard of the funny earl shows i am used to....the shows are funny but not funny like last year..i hope the writer or writers are nto already out of steam...
we need shows like y2k and like when earl stole beer from the golf guy...
Y2k was easy one of the top shows of last season..it was very imaginative and full of guest stars.
we need to see more of earl's dad too....

Catalina was one of my favorite characters!
I too have been wondering what happened to her.

joy's problem with the law was never mentionned....
Actually, she mentioned she was facing a life sentence to manipulate Earl into buying here some food at the Crab Shack.
I don't know what is happening with Catalina. There were several episodes at the end of last season when she appeared briefly in one scene. Or in scenes without the rest of the cast. (In the Y2K episode, for example, most of her scenes showed her sneaking into the US. At the very end of the episode, she walked past Earl and Randy-- but that was really brief.)
On the other hand, she was all over last weeks episode when she resumed her dancing (or hopping) career at that topless place.

That's what I was wondering? All of a sudden Randy is going for some cat lady and there was no Catalina.

Catalina is definitely an underused player and I can't understand why. Whenever she's on, she's such an asset to the show. Loved the Jump for Joy episode. I find it hard to believe they can't figure out what to do with her character-something is definitely odd there.

Randy hooked up with the cat lady to make Catalina jealous. He's mad because she has been ignoring him too much. They don't show her so much because she has beds to make and carpets to vacuum. She's the only one besides Darnell that has a job.

I noticed she was missing, but I didn't miss her too much. The more they show her, the less I like her. She seems more and more selfish and greedy.

i love this show and all of the characters. i really really miss nadine velazqez. she hasnt been on the last two episodes. does anyone know why she hasnt been on? i know that the last two shows have kinda been flashbacks to before she was in their town, but it seems like she could have been in the other parts of the show.

I think it's because they're trying to keep people watching to see what will happen with Randy and her marriage...

They could keep us wondering without omitting her from the show, look at Jim and Pam from The Office. One episode is one thing but I thought it was a bit odd that on the last one they went through every major character giving a monologue and saying "My Name Is..." to the librarian doing it without Catalina being in there.

Hey there,
I've always asked myself what Catalina is saying in spanish to Joy. As you all know, there are lots of episodes where that happens. Right now I don't have a certain episode in mind, but it would be great if someone could post translations to episodes where that happens.
thanks

Has anyone else noticed that Catalina seems to have practically shaved her eyebrows? She was so much more beautiful before with her natural heavier eyebrows. It really bothers me everytime I see her! Puh-Lease restore the old eyebrows!!!

I love this show. But seriously, I can't believe they have just ignored the fact that Randy and Catalina are married. On the episode when Joy agrees to help Earl by taking care of Randy and letting him live her and Darnell.....where was Catalina? I have been so surprised by the complete lack of acknowledgement of their marraige.

I think the writers need to watch the previous season DVD's to find and tie up all of the loose ends while they are on strike.
Actually, Catalina hasn't even had a scene with Randy this season, has she?

I know I don't recall anyone even speaking of the marriage or the night they spent together.
I think you're right, they haven't even been in the same scene together.

The marriage story line has pretty much been done now, with earl in prison, most of the action is focused on the prison life and randy working there as well.
If we remember back to the foreign exchange episode where they slept together, she smelt like fish, cheese and onion and Randy clearly stated it was just a green card marriage. Nothing left to say.
Hopefully with Earl being released from prison early she will appear in the later episodes a bit more now!

Yeah, but she said it was the best she'd ever had and she was begging him to come back. They can always play off of that angle--if they remember it!

REVIVAL!!!
Was Catalina always as superstitious as she is in the new episodes?

I think it's been a 50/50 thing. She's only been that way when she talks about mexico and her family really. If they are going to expand her character more, then they should play off that.
