Which dance scene is better? Michael Scott's "motivational dance contest" from the booze cruise...

Or David Brent's office dance from the BBC version of the show, seen here:

Tough call. I would say David Brent has the more original dance moves, but I give Michael Scott the advantage because he pulls it all together with his hillarious commentary ("Dancing is a primal art form used to express oneself through movements of the body"). Let me know what you think

I've never seen David Brent's dance(at work, can't watch right now), but I die everytime I see or think about Michael's Booze Cruise Dance. The commentary, plus the summation (Sometimes, you just have to be the boss of dancing) clinches my vote for Michael.

David Brent's dance was crazy! What was it - a fusion of MC Hammer and Flash Dance? It was so horrifyingly funny! I vote David Brent.

David Brent hands down!
i always skip through michael's dance. lol its more annoying to me than funny.

But Ricky's dance was funny with his crazy moves.

Its really close, but I would have to go with David. Not to say michael's wasn't pure genius.

My husband and I have an agreement not to compare the two shows, as it's now become an apples-to-oranges thing. Steve Carell and Ricky Gervais are both just geniuses. The scene with David Brent dancing was obviously more awkward/squirm-worthy since it took place in the office with no music at all; Michael Scott was at least dancing on an actual dance floor, but his motivational commentary made it hilarious.
So -- I crack up at both scenes for different reasons -- I guess this is a no-vote reply.

i'd actually have to go with michael scotts for exactly that reason. The commentary's delivery was simply the funniest part of that episode.

I would have to watch's michaels again to compare the two but this one from the BBC is a riot!! Probably more so because it's in an office and there is no real music - just office workers humming and then once they see about 20 seconds of him dancing they all stop humming and it's just the boss dancing to his own humming. Then they all awkwardly clap afterwards because they have to. LOL I need to re-rent the BBC's version again. I forgot how funny it was!!
