I know the poster you are talking about, I noticed it too. Not sure where it's from... the forumla looks like
sun / ((man/woman + booze + love + food + ? - gun)/ thought or speech?) x cube root of money = life?
I can't find anything about it.. It might be something Jim made himself...

I think there's a bullitin board above his desk. I also remember seeing a card of some sort of there from his parents. I don't know if it was a birthday or graduation card. All I could read on it was "SON" in big gold letters.

In the "email surveillance" episode, where they're in jim's bedroom, there's a poster above jim's desk. The poster kind of shows "the ingredients of life" in the form of an equation. I was wondering if anyone has seen this poster and know where I could purchase it. Thanks.

Sorry I can't answer your question...
There have been a lot of people asking about that poster. I'm sure that if enough people asked NBC for it (like the bobblehead) it will become available.

In one of the videos, Pam was at Jim's place,in his bedroom, apparently looking at his yearbook. I must have missed that episode. Which one was it?

It's from E-Mail Surveillance, which is going to be replayed on June 15th.

When Jim takes everyone on "the tour" and Ryan asks about Katy, pay close attention to Pam's face. Very interesting...

Officionada, that's one of my favorite moments when Pam makes that face...
Now, on to Jim's room (okay, that's what she said...) For whatever reason I'm hung up on the fact that Jim has a guitar in his room. Didn't he make a comment (during "take your daughter to work day") about "why would you own a guitar if you couldn't play?" So now I have this image of Jim playing guitar and it's stuck in my head. Which is okay, of course.

Yeah, I think he probably does. I think that details like that are more evidence that he and Pam are cut from the same fabric (artistic/creative types) that we saw juxtaposed against Roy and Katy (jock/cheerleader types) on The Booze Cruise. Just another small detail that makes Jim and Pam perfect for each other.
I, for one, hope we see a lot more of Pam at Jim's place in S3...

I too noticed the guitar. When I first saw the episode, I was kinda hoping she'd grab the guitar and ask him to play something. I wonder if he wrote any songs about Pam.
On the bulletin board, there what a card (I'm guessing either a birthday or graduation card) that said "SON" in big yellow letters. There were other things written on it but I couldn't quite make it out. I don't know, I just thought it was sweet that he had it displayed like that. That kinda shows that Jim's close with his family.

Yeah, but looking back now, that would have been jumping the gun a little. I disagreed with Jim when he said the it was "probably bad timing" for him to tell her. I think the timing was just right. There were two other episodes where Jim was gonna make his move. The Christmas episode and the Booze Cruise episode. For the Christmas episode, Jim got Pam a cute teapot she wanted, filled is with "inside jokes", and a card in which he most likely wrote how he felt. But at the last minute, he decided that he wasn't ready for her to know and he managed to snatch that card away. In the Booze Cruise episode, he and Pam went up on deck and there was a moment where if he had kissed her, she probably would have kissed back. But she got scared and went back down to the party. Moments later at the bar, Jim decided to go for it and was on his way to pull Pam aside and finally tell her how he felt when a very DRUNK Roy grabbed the mic and set the wedding date. Of course Jim, trying to be an honorable guy, couldn't tell her then. Micheal inspired Jim with his "never EVER give up" speech. But as the wedding got closer, Jim realized on casino night that it was either "now or never". Pam kept talking about how happy she was lately and how being around Jim put her in a good mood, making her more able to put two and two together when it came to her and Jim. I think it was the perfect timing. If he told her sooner, it would've most likely ended badly.
Sorry I turned this into an essay. But once I get started on my theories like this, I just keep going. Plus It's Saturday afternoon, I'm 19 years old, very bored, and very talkative. LOL

good points, I think Pam would have kissed him back wherever and whenever he professed his love, keep in mind she almost did, the dundies was a rare episode where Pam let's almost everything out.

True. Very true. She didn't cause she saw the cameras were watching her. Not to mention Angela was sitting just 5 feet away in her car. But I think Jim picked the right time to tell her.

Let's not forget, "The Dundees", was the episode where Roy and Pam had another argument. Pam turned around and went back inside and started drinking. She became uninhibited and showed some of the affection she had for Jim. And Jim had that look on his face,"Oh, baby if you only knew!" Problem is Pam was so tipsy that night, it would probably have been a bad night to let her in on the not so big secret.

Those scenes where Michael was practically begging Jim for an invite are pure torture. I would have caved if I was in Jim's shoes. That was a good choice for the writers to have Jim take pity on Michael and sing at the end. It was just too cruel to watch him duet solo.
I just love the scene in Jim's bedroom - I wish it was twice as long. His smile is incredible (must be those nice teeth).

weezeemule, I just saw email surveilance for the first time too, and I too felt bad for Michael, which is a first lol. I mean, he has it coming to him with all the rediculous stuff he does but it was sad that neither his improv. class or the office wanted him at their parties

But other than that, this episode was great, I loved how Jim joined in with the singing, and you could see that Pam was thinking aww what a great guy about Jim

I almost forgot, the part where Michael whispers something to his improv. classmate and then we find out he said that he had a gun but you just can't see it, so great!

Michael in the improv class reminded me much more of David Brent (BBC version) than of the normal Michael Scott. The US version has definitely made the boss more likable in general so that scene really stood out to me in the way it makes you cringe while watching it, even with multiple viewings.
pamalamadingdong
Jun 16 2006, 10:19 AM
^^^Wow, I haven't seen the BBC version other than maybe one episode, but if our US version makes the boss more likeable, I cannnot even imagine the boss in the BBC version, because Michael is just so...I can't even put it into words lol.

Jun 16 2006, 10:43 AM
I've watched the entire BBC version and I totally agree that Michael is much more likeable than David Brent. I feel sympathy (as well as nausea) for Michael in many scenes, but I had no such feelings for David Brent. The guy is just so difficult to be around. Kudos to great acting, anybody that can get a viewer to dislike them so much is a credit to the profession. I seriously wanted to shoot myself during some of David Brent's shenanigans (spelling?). He's more insulting and irritating that Michael running Diversity Day! Michael has some endearing qualities, I think he genuinely cares about his employees, but his social skills are just questionable. David only seems to care about his employees to further his unflinching need for attention.

We had an office FAC, and my boss, who is much older and doesn't drink, got really offended that we didn't invite her. Then her daughter who also works here (hello nepotism!) showed up at the bar and yelled at us. Pathetic creatures. We even have a Dwight, but she's a she that weighs about 400 lbs.

Now you can sing along.
Islands In The Stream
Preformed by Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton
Written by a couple of Gibbs
Baby when I met you there was peace unknown
I set out to get you with a fine tooth comb
I was soft inside
There was something going on
You do something to me that I can't explain
Hold me closer and I feel no pain
Every beat of my heart
We got something going on
Tender love is blind, it requires a dedication
All this love we feel, needs no conversation
We can ride it together, uh huh
Making love with each other, uh huh
Islands in the stream, that is what we are
No one in between, how can we be wrong
Sail away with me, to another world
And we rely on each other, uh huh
From one lover to another, uh huh
I can't live without you if the love was gone
Everything is nothing if you got no one
And you did walk in the night
Slowly losing sight of the real thing
But that won't happen to us, and we got no doubt
Too deep in love and we got no way out
And the message is clear
This could be the year for the real thing
No more will you cry, baby, I will hurt you never
We start and end as one, in love forever
We can ride it together, uh huh
Making love with each other, uh huh
Islands in the stream, that is what we are
No one in between, how can we be wrong
Sail away with me to another world
And we rely on each other, uh huh
From one lover to another, uh huh
Sail away, oh come sail away with me
Islands in the stream, that is what we are
No one in between, how can we be wrong
Sail away with me, to another world
And we rely on each other, uh huh
From one lover to another, uh huh
Islands in the stream, that is what we are
No one in between, how can we be wrong
Sail away with me, to another world
And we rely on each other, uh huh

I loved this episode too. In fact here are some specific things I loved.
- Pam getting the camera crew in on spying on Dwangela -- esp. when they run up to her desk and she says 'what?' and when she says 'so if you guys see anything -- "
- scene of Michael punching Ryan w/ the doll. Can't stop laghing as I type this...
- Jim's talking head scene and the look he gives when he says his room mate doesn't think Dewight is real.
- "I think Stanly just caughed" and the look after...like he was checking to see if Stanly needed something.
- The way Dwight looks when Michael turns to him as everyone is leaving the office to go to Jim's party, collar up looking sinister - oh god I love this show!
- Michael giving up his "guns"
- Did anyone notice Toby sitting on Jim's floor plaing Xbox while Michael is doing kareoke?
EXCELLENT EPISODE!

I never noticed Toby playing xbox. I think that's really funny because Toby's not the kind of guy you would imagine playing video games. My favorite quote of this episode is when Michael is in improv and he tells the woman at imaginary gunpoint to talk, and when she talks he yells at her to shut up.
