I figured it out, folks! The secret formula they used to create AGT! 4 parts Gong Show, equal parts Star Search and American Idol, a pinch of Family Feud (the big buzzing X's), filter all originality, pour it all into a recycling bin and voila... you have the current state of creativity in popular culture. Drink up!

Right on the Money! If I had stock in the companies sponsoring this show I'd sell it.

The "power structure" that creates these kinds of shows are so convinced they know exactly how to manipulate and make all of us fat, pathetic, lazy Americans just belly up to the trough and slurp up this waste--glad to see we still have some standards. But then again I wouldn't be suprised if they found a way to convince us that it is a hit!

This show is nothing more than a promotional build up for talent that Simon Cowell has been getting ready to possibly sign and this way with all the fakes, etc getting through they can ensure that one of their chosen finalists will win and launch their new album, brand, etc. This is the new lows that our pop culture has slipped into and we are all to blame!! Stop watching these glorified commericials--I know I am going to.

Only Rappin' Granny is going to get a franchise from this and maybe um, The Godzilla guy - The Asian guys will be looking for cover songs (that TAKES vision!!) and the Whitney wanna-be well, she will end up like Whitney.

Any and all action on the shows board (yup, even this entry's click on the counter) along with all of the viewer votes will only serve to convice them they're right. If you don't like a show and want to discourage more of the same, don't participate in any of it's methods of reaching out to viewers and encourage others to do the same.
