This is the first time I watched this show, and I was really amazed by the lack of talent. This girl was way out of her league. I understand she was 11, but she was terrible. She was screaming the whole time, and way out of tune. The judges got up and acted like it was the best thing ever. My ears were hurting, from the screeching. That girl stripping? I mean that is talent? WOW.
I know they are young, and we don't want to hurt their feelings, but they have to face rejection sooner or later.
Am I the only one that hated this? I mean it was torture to my ears.

Are you serious? That was the best performance I've ever seen by an 11 year old child! They should stop the competition and write her the check!
Horatio
Jun 28 2006, 09:10 PM
Really? I thought she was pretty good---not as great as the judges made it seem---but definitely better than most kids Ive heard in competitions locally. She sings with vibrato without effort....thats a sign of singing talent.

That would not have made it to Hollywood on American Idol. It was not good, I just rewinded in on TiVO. She was bad, and I have surround sound, so maybe it sounded worse I don't know. I don't like most 11 year olds singing, so I can't answer that. This season of American Idol, my favorites were Chris and Elliott, if that helps you guys at all.

Are you kidding? She was fantastic. By far the better performer. She has stage presence and a wonderful voice. Compare her to the other little girl who sang the Whitney Houston song. She was better.
The woman on the harp has a beautiful voice as well (she sang "arms of an angel"). I would like to see her again.

Jun 28 2006, 09:19 PM
I loved the 11 year old put can you check one thing with your tivo, lip syncing shouldn't be allowed. Maybe I'm wrong but most if not all singers have to move the muscles in thier mouth when belting out notes like that. My family noticed the same thing?
debthemom
Jun 28 2006, 09:24 PM
If you are talking about Bianca Ryan, the last singer.
It'a all her! Believe you me. I know her personally. Been there when she sung at the studio. It's all her. She's got talent.
mike22
Jun 28 2006, 09:24 PM
She wasn't lip synching. She WAS screeching though. Maybe people like screaming, but I don't. I don't like it at all. She is trying to be a diva, but she isn't. She is 11, maybe in 10-15 years she can be better, but she isn't that good now. At the end she made my ears pop, I thought the glass next to me was going to break.
I wish her luck, but she isn't anywhere near what they made her out to be, at least not at this stage of her life.
mike22
Jun 28 2006, 09:27 PM
She seems like a sweet girl, but she is not a diva. Maybe if she sang some songs more for her age, she would be better. I wish her luck, but she will have a very hard time if she continues to sing songs meant for people 5 times her age.

I know what I like, and that isn't it. You can call me deaf all you want, but I bet music producers feel the same way. I wonder what Simon would say if he was the judge. I can assure you it wouldn't be that good. She seems like a nice girl, but she is singing like 5 leagues over where she should be. She was screaming, this was not belting, this was screaming. You could hear her voice straining when she was finishing. She didn't really sing much, it was all screaming. If she sings better, I will gladly take back what I said. I'm not deaf, maybe I have different taste than you, but I'm not deaf.

This show the talent pool is terrible. She isn't good. You can say what you want. She is oversinging the whole time. It isn't my tv. I have a HDTV with Dolby Digital surround. I'm sure they will put it on youtube soon enough, I'll listen then. American Idol I hear really talent. Here I hear wannabes.

Ok, while I understand that this may not be your genre of music it seriously would take someone with no sense of what talent is to not recognise that this little girl has it. And she has it major. Until we see you get up on that stage and do justice to that Jennifer Holliday power ballad you honestly do not have room to talk. And to say you "hated" her, you really shouldn't talk at all. What exactly was your purpose for coming on here and bashing an 11 year old girl so harshly? Did it make you feel like a big man? Yeah, you should really be proud of your self. *note sarcasm*
This girl has more talent in her little finger than most of the so-called pop divas combined *cough* Britney *cough*. She is going to go far, very far. And in 30 years when Miss Bianca is considered a legend, where will you be?

So far, I haven't found anything on the internet to get a record deal for her. She lives in Las Vegas. Thanks

I can't belive you thought she was bad. My Daughter auditioned in Atlanta for this show with that same song and she is 9.
They choose these type of songs to show their power and range and yes it's more impressive coming from someone so young.
She sings it totally different then my daugher and I have to admit I was hoping it would not be as good, but it was just very different from her. I wonder if you would think she is screamig in her video. Check it out!

I know Bianca from when she was 6 years old, and even back then she was way better than many kids her age. We went to the same vocal teacher, and we sang in many of the same competitions. She ALWAYS came out a winner. You're obviously tone deaf if you're not hearing something that everyone else is. She's also one of the nicest, down-to-earth little girls, and from what we've seen so far, she deserves to win. GO BIANCA!!!!!!!!

I tip my hat and aplaud Smark's daughter! There's no way I can compare her profomance to Bianca's because they both sing that song so different as you said. I think she gave a preformance well worth my adimiration.
I'd also like to note that I do not have a surround system, but I do have one of the cleanest sounding sound systems anyone could ever own. I'm using a Crown CE1000 amplifier with a pair of Bose bookshelfs which sounds extremely nice! Please believe me though when I say that I've heard every painful pitch problem on Idol I really mean it. However I didn't hear any such pitch problem, nor did it sound to me as though she was screaming. As far as I'm concerned, she sung that song to perfection, and that's why she got the audience & judge reaction she did.

The original poster of this thread is what is commonly known as a "Troll". They post absurdly negative comments about a popular person, such as Bianca, because they know so many people love her, and that their negative comments will inspire reaction from her fans.
The best way to deal with a troll, is to completely ignore their posts. I know it is difficult, but if you ignore them they will go away, because you won't be giving them what they want. If you continue to respond to them, they will keep on doing it. There is no other way to stop them, except by refusing to "feed" them; arguing with them is totally futile.

Maybe if you're head wasn't planted someplace tight, your ears wouldn't be tortured. I have been a musician all my life and suffered through many talentless shows. Whether or not you like this style of music, to not see that this girl has talent and a voice that is almost hard to believe is coming from an 11 year old, puts you in a category with Pete Best deciding to leave the Beatles or every team passing Joe Montana up in the draft 3 times. Keep your day job Mike, you're no talent scout.

OK. I do not like this guys tone either. But I have to admit, he does bring out some good points. Bianca has great potential; however, she was screechy at times and definitely had some major pitch problems. Then again she is only 11. The judges did get a bit carried away. She was good not great and she probably will not win it all. In 3 to 4 years from now, this kid will be someone to reckon with.

I so think she is great too, really, but I just dont' want to see another singer win this...put her on Idol next season and let's see someone that can do something else or at least write and play instruments too. As a former classically trained musician, I'm a little tired of the glorified karaoke contest. It takes a lot more than a great voice to hold my attention. My faves are:
1. The 12 yo harmonica kid and his brother
2. The quick change artists
3. Contortionist girl
4. The cloggers
5. Bianca
6. juggling duo
in that order....again, think she's great, but I want to see something else win.

Check that kid out on youtube....NBC must have really screwed with the sound cause I'll admit the sound guy was all over the place with them.... cause I've heard that kid sing a couple of blues songs at a show once and he can totally sing and carry an audience. I know that song wasn't really their style...TV shows have to approve stuff last minute and they probably had to switch or something. Anyway...found this with him singing acapella without benefit of enhancements or anything.

I wasn't a fan of hers because of her song choice. They kept showing her singing the words "You're going to love me" in their advertisements for the show and I took that as a challenge. "Oh, I'm ging to love you? We'll just see about that!"

I agree 100% Probably friends or family . They try to manipulate the vote but America will not fall for that old trick .! We are tooo Smart. The more they put the girls down because they think singing as a child is not talent is crazy Do you remember being 11 - 15 yrs old and being on stage and making it on a television show? NOT It takes talent. I would have been terrified, but i see such confidence in them.

Anyone who hasn't ever heard a good child singer, will usually say theyre amazing! Not really amazing, just God's Given Gift they were blessed with! That's All! And theyre starting out early!!! So they tell my 13 yr old daughter who's never had any singing lessons in her life who's won all 5 contests she entered since Sept 05 to June 18th, 2006. The 5th recent contest she won 1st place in the New Carrollton Idol! And she was the only white contestant in the competition out of 14. But I agree, the girl singing "And I'm telling you...." wasn't that great! She was pitchy...and needs lessons to better herself! And shouldn't have gotten a standing ovation by any means. She didn't really exert herself or do anything really extraordinary by any means that I could see! The yoodler was a better performer and was more darling in appearance. And appearance is everything! And you either got it or you don't. And I didnt see that the the girl singing "And Im telling you..." had it! Or could ever have it! That cuteness just wasn't there! Sorry! And the Clothes changing artists were the best performance and then the girl shooting the bow & arrow with her feet were next!!!!
