Both of these girls are very talented, but I think that Bianca has more power behind her voice. Alexis is very pretty, but her performance was not outstanding. It was good,though. Bianca,however, blew me away.

I thought her clothes were age appropiate. If she would have come out dressed like a Britney Spears, people would have critized that. She is 11 years old, she was dressed fine And this is not a modeling contest anyway. And her voice is sooo much better than the other girl. I think she will win.

I was actually being sarcastic, but on the other hand I do agree with Piers as far as her image is concerned. I don't even think Piers was even close to suggesting that she should try to look like Britany Spears.. Dressing apropriately plays a huge role in any preformance. Lets guess that a girl auditions next week that can sing on par with Bianca but is dressed like a star.. When it comes down to the wire, the audience is going to choose the better dresser even if they sing equally well. As they say when you interview for any job, you should dress for sucess. Piers just took a painfully negative aproach to say that because this isn't a job interview, it's an audition.. However if this were a job interview, remember we the audience are the interviewers.

I agree with you but both of these girls have completely different styles and are both going to be super stars. I think the big test would be to have them sing each others song. I love them both but Alexis has my style in music but I believe that Bianca has a cleaner voice which she needs for the style of music she sings, does that make since?

I agree that both of the girls are quite talented; but I find it so ironic that so much is being compared after only one performance. Both of the girls have different styles, it boils down to a matter of preference. In the music industry, they are looking for someone who is going to have staying power and not be a one hit wonder. Alexis will be around for a long time; Bianca does have power, but how many times do you want to hear her screaming Jennifer Holliday's song? It is not time to write the check.

I give the audience more credit than that,to pick what clothes people wear over the talent they have, for the winner. You act as though they are a bunch of morons. And no one sang as well as Bianca(imho)...Give me a break

Yeah, i agree, the audience will decide at the end. I really loved Alexis's
performance and i have a good feeling that her next performances will just get better.
I also liked Bianca's performance, but my favorite is still
Alexis. I thought, she was singing from her heart and that is a important point for me.
I cant wait to hear more from both of them.

Oh, judging talent is about liking or disliking the quality of a performances. Comments like "I hate xxxx" shouldnt be allowed here. Just my 2 cents

My vote is Bianca , and only because I think she could probably sing anything if she can sing jennifer Holiday! and still sound great . The song is soulful and powerful even though it comes from Dreamgirls (A showtune)so I still think that both of the girls are singing same types of music. I think she's great and beautiful.

Sloppydoll, I never said Bianca sang better than anyone. When I said on par, I meant similar singing style. In some ways Alexis's style may be considered similar as I believe she also has a powerful voice as well. There were also many other singers that passed that we hadn't even seen or heard yet. For all we know any of them could blow Alexis or Bianca out of the water.

However I still stand by my words as far as what I said about how the audience will choose in a tie. Choosing the better dressor doesn't make them "idiots" at all.. I'm just saying in a tie breaker, it's likely the better dressor is what's going to tip the scale in their favor over the equally talented singer. It's in human nature to select what looks better to us. You may still disagree with me, but let me ask you this. If you were to buy today's newspaper and you had a choice between a black & white print, and a color print, which would you choose? However no singers style are exactly the same, or equal.. So same question except you are choosing between newspapers from two different towns you don't live in. One prints in color, the other prints in black & white... Content is not exactly the same, but the stories are somewhat similar.. Are you going to choose the black & white print over the color print?

I can't pick one of them yet because I missed Alexis's performance. I did see Bianca's though, and I was wowed.

I think both of these girls are extremely talented. Alexis was amazing for 14, but Bianca is almost "freak of nature" great for eleven! I have never heard an eleven year old belt like that! I kept closing my eyes and hearing a much older, trained professional singing. One of these girls will win this competition.

Even though both of them sung great, I think I would have to choose :mellow: ...... Alexis (I think!) I'm not completely sure yet! I guess I'll just have to see what they sing next!

This post is mostly about Alexis, but I do add my two cents about Bianca.

Be amazed by the Comparison of Alexis to other singers of ?I Have Nothing?, Alexis takes no prisoners!

Clearly I have too much free time as I have spent hours tracking down and listening to every version of ?I Have Nothing? so I can come up with a real opinion.

I have had a chance to listen to Alexis and compare her rendition of ?I Have Nothing?, to several versions of Whitney Houston?s: the American Idol version by Mcphee: A version by Rosa, she is a Latin singer.

I will post links to all the different versions so you can listen and make up your own mind.

Here is what I think. First off beauty is in the eye of the beholder so what I like and think is good is just what touches me.


As far as the comparing performances goes I found the I tunes version (30 seconds you get for free) by Rosa on the album Operation Triunfo most interesting, also have a link to a video (live, full length) of her singing a very similar version if not the same. She does have a slight accent but it is what she does with the song that is interesting. I think Mcphee sounds very much like Rosa in many ways as far as tone quality, but Rosa has a more powerful mature voice. Mcphee?s interpretation is a bit more like Alexis in some ways, but Mcphee song is long in length and Alexis has a much shorter time to sing. You need to jump to the end of the Mcphee version and cut out the middle to get an idea how they compare. And of course there are the Whitney versions, on Itunes, you can hear the first part of her studio version. But I think her live, full-length version is more telling and a fairer comparison between Alexis and Whitney?s interpretations. Whitney to me has the best voice of the three, but I just don?t like how she sings the song and I have never been a Whitney fan for some reason, oh well.

What is clear to me after listening to Alexis is she does more with the song than the rest do, especially in light of the short time she had to sing. There are little nuances that just make the song come alive for me in a way the other artists just don?t even begin to delve into. Her voice of course to my mind is by far the best followed by Whitney, Rosa and Mcphee. Alexis will develop a more powerful voice and range over time then lookout! Whitney on the other hand will never develop the subtle warmth of sound quality and nuance of emphasis that is Alexis style. As for the other two they are not even close. Just an opinion! Oh and if you want to laugh and then cry, Oy Vey! listen to Sonja Kristina on Itunes. Talk about a different style!

A few examples are during the part ?I wont hold it back again, this passion inside. Can?t run from myself. There?s nowhere to hide?. Everyone picks up the ?nowhere to HIDE? high note, but only Alexis creates a buildup of musical tension and artistic quality in the lead up ?this passion INSIDE, Can?t run from MYSELF? and then brings it home with ?nowhere to HIDE? high note, like the rest.

There is more of course, but lastly the part ?Don?t walk away from me? were Alexis doubles it up and gives it emphasis. None of the other singers does this at all, or nearly as well. Alexis has a throaty break catch during this doubling of ?Don?t walk away from me? part. This is the heart and soul of the song; the woman crying out ?Don?t walk away from me?, and this part of the song deserves special attention, Alexis gives it the attention it should have. Alexis then segue?s into the ?YOU? she ends the song on. This is timed to perfection and is so musical, far better than the other artists.

If you listen to the different versions and think about what I said above you will see what I mean I think.

I am amazed over and over ever time I watch Alexis sing that darn song. There is a quality to her voice that is a magical miracle, the timing of her emphasis is musical genius and if that was not enough when you see her perform she has a magnetic vibe of body language that is so captivating in its purity and joy.

Remember she is only 14, what gets me is the remarkable raw talent and knowing she will improve over time!

Can?t wait to see what the future holds for her! Sure hope she WINS.

PS: And I do think Bianca Ryan is a real great talent, for only 11 she is amazing (when 14 she will be double awesome I am sure!), heck she would be amazing if she was any age!

Really both Bianca and Alexis are great, it is a shame to compare and say I like one better than the other, because I don?t. What I will say is Alexis has a unique voice, and the little acorn she is right now can grow into just as mighty and oak as Bianca?s certainly will. Alexis warm husky timber, natural musical nuance of emphasis and innate voice quality cannot be trained, bought, stolen, borrowed, or derived in any artful way, only a genetic gift then hard work will give it to you. This is a personal thing for my ear preferring Alexis. I prefer Alexis rendition much better that any other I have heard singing her song. Bianca is amazing for 11 and I think will likely win. Alexis will need to come up with a block buster performance to have any chance. Going to be fun to see!

While I believe that both have talent, I preferred Alexis to Bianca. Not too interested in the singing acts, though.

Yeah, in my opinion it is Alexis. I compare several Versions of "i have nothing" and
it becomes really clear that Alexis put a Lot of Soul in to her Version. I just love it.
Bianca is great, but i missed the vibe in her song. She is definately great, but just my 3 cents...
