Three rounds doth not make a talent show. American Idol is successful because you actually have time to get to know the contestants as people. American Idol eliminates two contestants in the first round, meanwhile America's Got Talent eliminates all but two in the first round.

Oh yeah, and the judges pick half of them. You can't just spoonfeed us the results, edit them to make them look more appealing and then expect us to give half a crap when you finally let us vote once our options are down to a single digit. I thought Last Comic Standing was horrible letting the producers pre-pick one out of ten contestants. But using the first challenge to eliminate four out of five?
