Hi. I'm Muffy and I'm a recent message board addict. Here are some of my symptoms:
My baby's feeding times are my favorite part of the day because I can chat on the board while he gets his bottle.
I'm getting to know what time zone everyone must be in by the time they stop posting on the boards (west coast nights are very lonely around here!)
What are your symptoms?

Yikes, I have to admit, when my husband was out of town for a week, I spent a few VERY late nights on the board.

At least this message board doesnt have a pyramid scheme.

Only ilovepam's scheme to become Assistant to the fan moderator, then moderator, and finally MODERATOR OF THE WORLD!!!! (Then you could hire a receptionist)

Just thought of another- I'm driving in the car with my family and actually start laughing when I remember something I read on here the other day, and when someone asks me why I'm laughing, I'm too embarrassed to reply, "Diapers said....."

Was it your dream as a little girl to become a receptionist?
Muffyduffy, I am usually up late (3AM or 4AM, EST), but tonight I am too tired. And yes, I also suffer from this MB-itis! I wonder if my health insurance will cover treatment?

Good to hear others are obsessed with this show too! Glad to know I'm not alone!

Fine, you'all can be receptionists. I want to be the Assistant (to the) Moderator! He'll be like Mozart and I'll be like... Mozart's friend....
I only sleep 4-5 hours a night anyway so I am here a lot when it is quiet...that's why you'll log on in the morning and see me on a bunch o' posts. (Plus, I am still trying to raise $ for the Pennsylvania flood relief - I am 1/2 way to my goal date of July 31 - $.10 for every post as of noon 7/31 - I need to go post some more Haikus I think

)

Nice to know I'm not the only late nighter! I was just checking in one more time before going to bed. I'll look forward to reading more symptoms of MB-itis tomorrow (my list is growing by the minute!)

You should also have a "fun-raiser" for all the people who were affected by the footage.

I spent my time in my class this morning writing Office Haikus instead of listening.

I don't think I have develped full blown MBitis. I still do not post every chance I get... but I do read every chance I get... even the really old posts!
Should I seek Medical Attention?

I too am suffering from MBitis...
One symptom: I posted a question right before I left for Mexico for the weekend (I had a wedding to shoot), and when I was down there I was wondering if anyone answered me and what they said... wow...

Hi, my name's iampam, and i'm an officeboardsaholic. I check the boards as often as possible, I often think of what others on the boards would think of new theories I come up with. I think about Jim and Pam constantly. The first step is admitting you have a problem. I have a very serious problem. Is there a 12 step program or anything? How do I get help?!
muffyduffy
Jul 18 2006, 12:40 AM
Maybe if they realised how serious our addiction was, they would speed the webisodes along, for our health's sake. Or they could give us a ton of new outtakes and deleted scenes to obsess over, I could live with that.

I get frustrated at comercials and can't sit still. The show has taken over my life. My whole night was arrange around it. And then I get emotionally invovled. I almost cried for happiness when Jim listened to his 7 messages from Pam... it was so cute.
PS I know I am obsessed, hence posting on this page.

I seriously need help! I too suffer from the message board epidemic. I was on vacation last week, with no access to the internet. I had withdrawls. It took a couple of days to get used to the fact that I would not be able to converse with any of you for a week! On top of that, I left my Q&A Trivia chain with a really hard question and I was dying to see if Dilanon could answer it! (By the way, kudos to Dilanon for getting the answer!) I also spend a good portion of my day planning out topic posts. I spend time preparing questions for the Q&A Trivia Chain, Who Am I, and subjects for A to Z in the Office. I am currently working on a new topic post. It will include observations from both seasons with analysis leading to the third season opener. Yikes, I'm scaring myself! For all those West Coasters, I'm right there with you into the morning hours! Do you think this epidemic is as bad as spontaneous dental hydropolosion?

Jul 21 2006, 01:12 AM
I didn't realise how bad I had it until I woke up to my baby making little whimpers in his sleep at 3am, and really had to fight with myself not to get up and check the boards. I swear I have a life, a really busy life...really.

Symtoms:
taken up Haiku reading and writing
redacting first haiku out of embarressment since its not up to "Office" standards
fighting the urge to reply to all Roy_Anderson posts
holding in high esteem people I've never met just because they are huge Office fans and give good post
trying to hide my addiction by pretending not to know so much about the Office when I watch it with my husband (that's hard to do)

I just joined, so it's hard to diagnose myself with MB-itis here just yet (although I suffer greatly at a number of other forums). I'm an office addict though, and I've been wanting to sign up here for a while. I didn't until today because I'm lazy.
