How are we suppose to give an honest vote when the camera is on the audience or the judge's for a huge portion of the act?

I was thinking the same thing during Vladimir's act and the lighting was horrible--they are cutting away to the audience too much.

I'm doing both--you, too laugh.gif Plus, I have to write these things as I think of them, then later when I'm trying to answer all the posts I'll forget what I wanted to say!! (as if it is that important!!) biggrin.gif

Great minds must think alike because I just started a thread about this same thing - LOL!

Yes, I totally agree that he got shafted with the cruddy camera work. His is a completely visual performance and needs to be the center of the camera's attention. Singers have the advantage in that they are "getting the point across" even when the camera isn't focused on them.

Yeah it got annoying, I wanted to see the show more than random peoples reactions. We have or own reactions!! :z

This is easily explained. The producers don't think the american public is capable of making an intelligent decision on their own. They show us how certain people are reacting so we KNOW how we should vote. If they like an act they will show judges and audience members being happy and excited so we know that WE should be happy and excited too.

It's kind of like a laugh track. Unfunny shows have laugh tracks so you know which bits are supposed to be funny. They try to trick you into laughing, even when you KNOW what you just saw wasn't funny. And sadly, it has worked since the dawn of TV.

I wondered if I was having a problem with my TV. I couldn't see half of the performances of the contestants!

It is the worst part of this show. I wrote to a professional TV company for the first time last night, and joined these forums just for that reason.

Wow, you might consider why NBC doesn't always do so well on things such as sporting events!

I like Brandi, and she is beautiful, but I do NOT need to see her reaction ALL of the time. It is NOT just a singing show, and this sort of ADHD approach to filming the show isn't working.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who was getting annoyed by the camera constantly on the audience. I really don't care what their reaction is. Not only that, but the audience's reactions generally seems to look too forced and artificial. I would rather see the full act!
