i have never had anything against brandi in the past... i had one of her cd's... but wow... my opinion has completely changed about the woman. first of all the kids that were singing... was there anypoint in saying those things to them. no. america heard them and we are going to make our decision about what we heard. there is no point in talking down to children like that... the youngest one was three years old! we know brandi WAS a singer so she may know some things but if she feels that she is giving advice to young children by saying unneeded hurtful things and that makes her feel like the "more experienced" professional then she is wrong... this show is giving her a really bad name.. well maybe it isnt the show... maybe it is just her.

First of all. DO NOT blame brandy. Brandy was being very honest. It is not healthy to lie to children, built up false hope just to have it destroy. Any child performer whether its a child actor, singer, or whatever goes through that and worst. The blame needs to be directed at NBC. You cannot absolutely, CAN NOT, place adults and children together in the same act and judge them as equals. THats not brandys fault. Thats all NBC. The way they set up the show. They could have done a section for children and then a section for adults. It was that simple but NBC decided to just put everyone in one box. What is she supposed to do?

Brandy wasn't out of line in the least. She was truthful, she didn't say things to just hurt them. In fact she gave them constructive criticism on how they could become better. Its a competition with judges, they are going to be judged. If any of them aren't able to handle that then the mother shouldn't of let them be there in the first place.
Not a single judge was out of line with them. I will say I don't think they should've been in the ten to perform tonight, and from the snipet we saw of how the judge's came to that decision, Brandy was against them being on tonight.

Totally agree with both of you, I felt she gave them constructive criticism which if they choose to use it could help them in the future to go further. They need some serious coaching and imo should not have been brought back tonight.

Richhope I agree with you. She did and said the right thing. She wasn't mean at all. David keeps his nose pretty clean and hasn't said anything derogatory thus far. Nobody has been as nasty with their comments as the other judge that is referred to as Piers "insufferable twit" Morgan. That's what Tom Shales wrote in his column (http://www.tvweek.com/article.cms?articleId=30210 ) and I have to agree. He tore the child acts apart last week, downgraded them and even made the twelve year old Miller boy cry when he told him to get rid of his brother. Now that's outright cruel. He jumped on Bianca's appearance, her hair, her dress and her shoes. That little girl was properly dressed for an eleven year old. What's he want to look like, a trashy singer? She isn't old enough. Sugar and Spice are just adorable in many ways and with more practice and experience they can prevail. Brandy is right.
It goes like the old clich?'s "You can't please all of the people all of the time. You can only please some of the people some of the time." That's how this program and many others go. Roll with the punches. Keep smiling. It will all come to an end with one winner and that could be any one of them. Cheer on your favorites and have a good time if you enjoy this show. If not then have a good Summer.

I pretty much agree with everyone, but I feel the need to point out that every suggestion Brandy made is unlikely to happen. Singing and Dancing lessons? Come on now, they can't afford matching shoes and they live in a hotel - how the heck are they supposed to afford singing AND dancing lessons for SIX kids? And even if someone ponyed up the cash for it, I doubt their mom can afford the gas money to get them there the 2 or 3 times a week they will need.
Frankly I'm not sure how they got to hollywood. Does NBC pay for transportation and lodging?

I doubt that NBC would do that. But you're right, how can they afford the lessons, unless she takes them under her wing and helps them. I'm wondering if the judges are doing this on purpose and switching up the good cop bad cop act?

Brandy's "welfare" comment at the beginning of the show offended [quote][indent]me. I didn't know what she was addressing until she made the comments about the Sugar and Spice act. Brandy needs to remember her humble unpolished beginnings. Her voice has never been velvety, nor has her hair been anything more than synthetic braids or weave. She had the nerve to mention that Sugar and Spice needed more polishing. Brandy also needs to remember that if "America's Got Talent," were not employing her now, she might be jobless and eventually a "welfare" candidate along with her precious child from that farce of a marriage of hers. America's Got Talent needs to select a better, more qualified judge than 15 minutes of fame Brandy with her little to no talent brother RAY JAY?

I think Brandi made all the bad comments about the teenage girl group because she's jealous. Frankly, I never have liked her vioce and don't understand why they picked her as a judge anyway. As for their clothes, yeah maybe their to young but these days thats how teenagers dress. I see girls younger than them in the mall, grocery store or wherever wearing more revealing clothes than that. Brandy's just mad becuase if she put it on no one would tell her she was sexy.

Yeah it is NBC's fault for hiring BRANDY.... and it isn't right to lie to kids you are right but like they will ever be able to get lessons! that is not lieing? false hope? get over her already and admit she is ruining her rep with this show! and your welfare comments...do you actually know for a fact if they are on welfare? do you know where these kids live? do you know anything about that famly for a fact?????????????????? Why don't you stop with the stereotyping............

While Piers was a little harsh on Bianca, I do agree that she wasn't dressed very well. She actually is almost 12, my daughter is the same age as her, and wouldn't be caught dead in an outfit like that. There are tons of cute age appropriate outfits out there and her's looked like it was very outdated.

Brandy is jealous of all the girls. Who would have guessed that a young, beautiful and successful entertainer would be so jealous and so public about it. It was not just N'versity look how she responded to the Snow White striper and the harp player. She has put down almost all the women. Message to Brandy you are embarrassing yourself.

I agreed with Brandy mostly. The only thing I don't agree about is N'Versity's clothes. I know 13 year olds who dress like they did, its not that uncommon to find 16 and 17 year olds dressed like that. 30 year olds, last time I checked, don't dress that way. And then the whole audience was agreeing with brandy, yuck! It was like her entire posse squezzed into that room that night.

She like two little girls initially. Didn't like one of the the second time around and a yodeller (no competition). Additionally, I think I stated my point. What's your point?

Yep, you got me. As a middle-aged woman with no singing ability and a profession I love, I am jealous of Brandy. Which must mean that you have a crush on her and feel that she depends on you to defend her.

My boyfried and I watch the show together and we both thought that Brandy was being mean to the women. When we heard the 3 girls sing we thought that they were as good and the boy group. I have sung in choirs and I don't think they could make such great harmony if they had not spent alot of time practicing. Brandy said that they sounded like they just threw something together. I have only seen two of the shows but Brandy told the harp lady that she was boring. I do not like harp music but I would not have called it boring.
