"Rhapsody in Blue" by George Gershwin. Anyway, it's been used in the United Airlines' commercials for many years.

I'm definitely voting for Natasha.

I think I just fainted!!! I agree with Duckman!!!! laugh.gif Ducky, don't believe it will ever happen again. I did think that she did a great job. Hope you were serious.

It was not Rhapsody in Blue, sorry.

It was Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor. Vanessa Mae did a cover of the song and thats how I know its not Rhapsody in Blue, even though thats an awesome piece. Here is a MIDI of Tocatta and Fugue - You should understand that its the same piece she played.

The name of the song is "Toccata& Fugue in D Minor" by Bach . The orignal score is 9:21 mins long.

Natasha Le played 1:30 mins of the song. She is quite talented for an Eight year old as this piece is

is quite difficult. Good luck to Natasha, your a winner in my book.

I'm sorry, but I just don't see the talent in this girl. Sure, she's cute and she has quick fingers for an 8 year old, but the one thing that really bothered me was her lying on national TV. She made mistakes - several of them - and I've picked up most of them. I've been playing piano for many years; I've played this song countless times, and I believe that I'm adequately skilled enough to know when a mistake is made. Besides, many 8 year old girls are very talented piano players and if you watched interview shows, you'd find a couple more piano youngsters who play piano well enough to avoid mistakes and then be honest enough to admit them.

Yes, Cala, there are probably plenty of other children who can play that song and avoid mistakes, but they weren't on the show, Natasha Le had the guts to get up there and perform beautifully. She's a child, and she may not have been lying, she may have honestly felt she didn't make any mistakes. I have played for many years, yet, I am not on that stage, she is. Give her props for going there.

Actually, most musicians would probably be afraid to admit any mistakes on National television, and she probably didn't want to feel like an idiot. (It wouldn't matter since the judges probably weren't used to hearing the song... and could clarify those mistakes).... at least she didn't stop and continued.... that take's guts when performing to a wide audience.

and BTW: She played the song in double time... so technically you heard 3 minutes... or approximately that. Or she had an arranged version; I'm used to hearing it and playing much slower and mysterious like rather than fast and.... fast.
