Full Version: Drop the Million dollar prize
NBC > Reality > America's Got Talent

Wouldn't it be great to have an ongoing talent show on NBC these days without the hype of winning a million dollars.
I would love to host a show of Ed Sullivan caliber without having it be a cattle call for judging otherwise very talented individuals.

The act Kevin Johnson, the ventriloquist, Veronique Chavalier, with her White Rabbit, Betty Victor, who sings God Bless America, and all the other acts performing are soooo talented.

Too bad they make it a contest instead of a piece of ongoing family-valued television programming.

I agree with you, it would be good to see a show each week that just showcases people's talents and helps them to be seen. Good idea.

laugh.gif Family valued tv programming? I wish! Unfortunately, all that sells today is the drama and angst of a stab-you-in-the-back, win-at-all costs competition.

I, too, would love to see these acts in a different format - just showing what they've got without the on-air criticism. But I think our opinion is in the minority. Too bad.

I agree. I guess there are still a few of us out there who don't need the drama and back-stabbing of reality TV, just the nice family show showcasing talent.
