There were viewers who voted for the acrobatic team "Realis". If the judges had announced their choice before the end of the show, those viewers who voted for Realis would have voted for some other act (their second choice) because Realis had already made the finals as the judge's choice. This resulted in acts other than Realis not getting votes that could have changed the final results. Anyone disagree?

Yes, I disagree. I voted for Realis.

This is the way I understood the judge's comments: They all liked At Last best; but Piers wanted to make sure that not all the finalists were music acts. So they decided to let the voters choose first, so they could choose a non-music act if (when) the vote went for At Last.

My vote for Realis was intended to nudge the judges. If they had picked At Last, I also would have voted for Realis.

I think Hasselhof was cranky over All That not making it through. And I won't be surprised at all if there are wild cards. They're probably going to have to do some tinkering with the rules to avoid a mostly music final.
