Just curious what "normal" people thought about the stilt performance. Being a former Cirque du Soleil performer I was a bit impressed. I imagine that was quite a difficult act (ignoring the fact that the girl wiped out). It was very Cirque "like" and I imagine that they won't be too happy that the main performer mentioned the word Cirque ater his performance.
Anyhow, what do you think? Lame? Medium? Neat, but weird?

I like it, it was arty and i thought that the girl doing the fire spinning was way hot, but all could think of after that girl wiped was ouch.

I voted for them too! I thought they were awesome and even though that girl fell, she got back up. Hey, ice skaters fall all the time and they still seem to win the gold medal. I would like to see them move on. I didn't like anybody else today except for them and those basketball players. I would seriously hurt myself trying to do that.

I agree. I wonder if things would have been different for them if she didn't fall. And then whats his face (the mean brit judge) said that it was basically all her fault for falling. That blows.

They usually don't win the gold when they fall though (unless everyone falls).
I liked them anyway, but found the fall was distracting. Not so much because I though she screwed up, but I was wondering the whole time if she was ok. It pretty much caused me to miss the performance.
I agree 100% with what the guy said about having to sit for 3 hours before the performance.

Sorry. This "normal" person thought it was kinda creepy.
But as the mother of a performer, I totally agree with what a rotten deal it is to make them sit for three hours and then perform!
Made me feel a bit guilty to have voted for the acrodunk guys. What if they'd had to sit?

I've been a professional stiltwalker for over 10 years, and these guys did the most amazing performance i've ever seen on pole stilts! (the only thing that's come close to that is the Second Storey Guys who perform on BigFoot stilts, which are very high tech and have full foot plates on the bottom for better balance)
It really irritated me to hear Piers say that they shouldn't be passed through because one of them fell... What they were doing was incredibly difficult and required a level of skill not seen in most other acts.
Falling is an ever present risk when you do stilt performance, and the general public usually has no clue as to how the performance surface can affect a show. ....a few drips of sweat or water on the stage might have caused her fall.
And as for the guy who said he wanted to see her break her nose...I can't say i'm surprised at your attitude, but it's callous nonetheless.
The most common injury in the stilters I know is broken arms ('cause we automatically put our hands out to catch ourselves if we fall...it's hard to train yourself not to do that) Falling can seriously injure a stilter... Kudos to her for getting right back up and finishing the routine.

Thanks for the reply stiltdancer,
I am glad to know that was an impressive act
By your standards too.

I really liked that act. They weren't my favorite of the night, but if I'm ever in an area where they are doing a performance, I'd probably buy a ticket.

If anyone got jipped more than anyone else last night, it was Stilt World. If Team Acrodunk had to remain seated for almost two hours as well, I think they would have screwed up too.
I certainly liked them more than the rapping granny. Tonight is going to be
very depressing -- of all nine remaining acts, I think only two of them would have been less deserving.
