does it make ANY sense that they would put two CHILDREN on stage to sing and complain about the maturity of their voices when they have other singing talents like JESSCHELLE along in the competition who already has the voice maturity. it just DOESN'T make any sense. they've done that since week 1 of the semi finals...for example, they allowed the 'dog act' through while a couple of real good acts were left to sit in their seat wondering what just happened? it sickens me that the judges see exactly what is to be performed the day before, then deliberate as whom to allow to perform and yet they still allow the 'freak' acts on stage to showcase and not the deserving talents that have an actual legitimate chance to win this to sit and watch their AGT dream come to an end...it SUX and i'm THISCLSOE to claiming this competition to be a complete FRAUD and prolly FIXED!

my point exactly! judges get their private viewing of the the 15 or so acts a day before the actual taping of the show as seen on TV...after seeing all 15 acts, they deliberate as to the 10 acts who will perform on TV...this is the semi finals folks, you should be RID of the 'freak' shows and bring on the TALENT just like they do on IDOL...they would've never brought William Hung to hollywood...the judges have passed up on some incredible acts, just let them sit in the audience while they allowed the 'dogs' and tonight's 'juggler' in for a shot at the cash...these acts should be TOP NOTCH, not the BS they've been shoving down our throats...

The "dog act" was AWESOME in the first round. This is not even debatable.
J.R. Johns probably did a repeat performance in the private show, at which point Piers probably said something like, "Is that all you do? Dogs doing acrobatics? Running around being clever? You are a one trick pony You need to change your act."
And so he did... and it bombed. But this isn't about the "dog act", this is about JESSCHELLE!

I was reading the other posts and happened to pass by this one. This Jesschelle is the one that was on last night in the pink dress, right? She's pretty I haven't seen her featured ONCE though, and that's a shame because I listened to her voice on that Angels song on her myspace, and ****, she's pretty talented. Does she play the piano, too ?

The recording quality of the track sucks, but you can hear her vocal skill and power. SEE, WHAT THE HECK!!! WHY DIDN'T THEY SHOW HER?

It just feels like the judges are measuring opon their personal favorite acts and not on the true measure of talent in this show; which is quite annoying.

I have never heard about this Jeshelle chick, but they definitly should have let her through instead of the jugglar. WTF. I don't see what's so cool with juggling and what they can do with a million dollars to further there talent?

We've seen enough of them already, we've seen probably 6 or 7 of them.

3 in the first round...Millers, yodeler, and Alexis Jordan....2 last night...and the 8-year old piano player, and the girl group in the second semis.

I totally agree, it just doesn't make sense to introduce acts to America move them forward to the semi-finals, and then they never perform again or get a chance to participate in the voting. Leaving the talent and the talent's fans feeling jipped.

I concur! i dont see how the judges can overlook Jesschelle and put Bianca and Caitlyn on instead. i heard this girl sing at a compeition called Avestar and she is amaaazzinnnggg! she has great stage presence and this girl can sing! and it's not just Jesschelle, i can't believe the judges could pick the juggler over other amazing talents. this show's a jip if you ask me!

This is a great example of how backwards this country is in regards to recognition of the arts. In Europe, the arts are an integral part of daily conversational life, as sports is here. Unfortunately, the arts is merely a means of "entertainment" in America, unlike in Europe, where practically every corner of life is inspired by it. I myself am a Director of Music for 2 Catholic Churches here in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, as well as a member of the music faculty of a local (private) high school. Jesschelle is a member of 1 of my 2 church groups, and was a student of mine at the high school level. She is an accomplished musician who aspires to pursue a music degree with an emphasis in composition, and she has already graduated with a degree in political science. She is also an accomplished pianist, as well as a voice and piano instructor for the Yamaha Music School.

Hmmm, let's see...isn't it only obvious that Jesschelle has, um, experience? I don't know if we can say the same about the competitors, especially in regards to some senior citizen who can speak lyrics in rhythm, as well as someone who can throw a bunch of round objects in the air and catch them at will. Hey Piers, didn't you say that "this is talent show, not a freak show?" If that's the case, then why the **** did those stilt dancers make it through? One of them even fell (hmm, just like the current status of the arts in this country?). Then of course, you have immature, inexperienced little ones who, if they win, don't even know what kind of financial obligations must be garnered with such a large winning. Kid talent has its own place -- definitely not here, but should be limited to the stage at the grade school auditorium.

What ever happened to recognizing artists who are true to their endeavors, rather than those who just do it halfway just to gain popularity? What ever happened to the true meaning of the arts, rather than elevating someone based on just looks, humor, or personality? What about skills? Hard work? True talent? Any idiot can speak poetry in motion, and there's too many jugglers in this world (any idiot can learn that skill too).

Jesschelle is a shining example of someone who has skills, works hard, and has true talent -- I should know, considering I worked with her for 3 of her 4 years at the high school. She is completely and truly passionate about what she does and what she hopes to accomplish. If this kind of talent isn't recognized, then maybe this show should be renamed "America's Got Idiots."

I still am in shock that talented Jesschelle was not chosen last night in the semi-finals. I'm sorry that is ridiculous!!! Its stupid that they would pick little girls with little voices and tell them they aren't mature enough when they have superstar in her prime sitting in the audience. What's even more pathetic is that they put dumb acts like that bird guy or the creepy juggling guy on stage. That is an insult, really. I've know Jesschelle since high school and even back then this girl blew me away. I used to sit and watch her practice her solos. She was my idol!!! I wanted to sing just like her. Now I have the privlege of singing with her every sunday at church. When this girl is performing she is giving you everything...body, mind and soul. Jesschelle is an accomplished singer/pianist/voice teacher/composer/arranger....the list goes on...she has it all.

yea seriously... Jesschelle is pretty dame awesome, which is more than i can say for those little kids who still have to mature or jugglers who just throw crap into the air or senior citizens trying to be young again when they know they're gonna croak soon!!! why didn't they put Jesschelle on or showcase any of the other talents for that matter? NBC wants us to vote for the ultimate winner, but it seems that the contestants we'll vote for to win the $1 million are people NBC wants to win, or perhaps they just want that Bianca freak to win. This Bianca hype is overly suspicious and all the "talents" they've featured so far are already established in vegas or something. it's ridiculous!!! the show is rigged!!!

i agree this show does seem fixed. but then again, you have to remember that it is a show. think about it for a moment. why would they even have this show on in the first place? to make money! and who is making the money? well, nbc obviously, but besides that, the producers! remember that the final decision about who makes it through to the next round is not left to the judges, but the producers. And when you think about that, you must remember that they will do what is best for the show and to make more money, not what is best for the contestants. that is why they have the ridiculous acts that pass. it is very similar to American Idol.

about jesschelle, i checked her myspace and she's cute. last wednesday was the most coverage of her and i think it was very marginal at best. its unfortunate that we don't get to see the other acts that didn't make it on the show. i think america should be able to see all acts on the website, not just the ones that made it on tv.

oh and that rappin granny was hard to understand. its a good thing i watched it in captions. and one thing i noticed was that the captions misspelled jesschelle's name, they had it as "Gishelle". [edited - moderator]

i'm having a hard time understanding this show. why is it that some acts get exposure RIGHT FROM THE START (as in the audition shows), and then CONTINUE to receive exposure through commercial announcements and even more exposure on the semi-finals shows. acts, like jesschelle, received no exposure in the audition shows, and therefore wasn't even given a chance to win over the hearts of America.

i think the producers of this show have already picked their favorites, which makes me lose all respect for this show. talents that have gone through in the semi-finals (taylor ware, at last, and bianca ryan) were ALL featured on the audition shows, and then have been voted to the finals by america. coincidence? i think not.

america should be able to see a showcase of all the talent, not the producer's favorites. hopefully you all will be able to see jesschelle in the wildcard round and vote her through because she truly is a talented act.

Wow...I must say she is not only beautiful but I did go to her website at Myspace and listened to her song. Sounds to me that she doesn't need AGT but you are absolutely right to ask why she was passed up by the judges.

Wasn't able to find out her age at Myspace (I hate their webshell designs). But she must be in her early 20s. Why, if some of you people claim to know her, has she not auditioned for American Idol? I would think her chances would be a whole lot better there anyways. Even if she only made it into the top 12 she would get a lot of exposure.

I am not going to say that show was rigged, because I don't know that to be fact. But, I think from the very beginning they knew who they wanted to win this event. It is not hard to see through the fog and realize that the majority of the acts that were put through to the semi-finals was highly questionable.

As for AGT, the whole point is to get viewers hooked, ummm they still have ratings right? So much of this show is wasted time, including all the time that's spend on the *judges* and their questionable picks!

Lets put things into perspective. You've already got American Idol which gives singers a way to get into the business if they've got what it takes (image, voice, show, that "natural talent"). So think about it, this is AMERICA'S GOT TALENT. NOT American Idol as some of you may wish for it to be. What does that mean? That means, at best, they're going to try to pick someone who doesn't sing. This is showcasing America's best talents (while them may seem like quacks, they still are talents... according to.. **** i don't know). But think about it, if you're trying to get out there with a singing act, why NOT go on a show like American Idol. At least you know you're competing against people doing the same thing. Finally, I do agree that this show is complete crap judging from the "talents" being passed on. Especially that rapping granny. What a travesty.

America's Got Talent, where Talent is defined as "A marked ability, as for artistic accomplishment", includes the magicians, the jugglers, the acrobats, and the singers alike - THEY ALL HAVE TALENTS, DIFFERENT TALENTS, AND THAT'S WHAT THIS SHOW CLAIMED THEY WERE LOOKING FOR!!! I see what you're saying that singers have American Idol, but just because they have AI does not mean the singers who did make it into AGT should be excluded from performing.

Talent does NOT exclude singers. On the contrary, it seems as if singing is what America really wants. Where do I come off saying that? Well, just look at the acts AMERICA has voted through so far, Taylor Ware, At Last, and Bianca Ryan. And if we really want to show that America's Got Talent, you yourself have said that the other talents come off "like quacks". This show would be a disgrace for America without the singers because of the "quacks" you say are on this show. Have you even heard Jesschelle sing?? Many people, including myself, have put a link to a recording of her singing, listen to it. I know that there are other shows showcasing singing, however, who are we to deprive America of what it really wants, and by the looks of it, looks like America wants singers!!

I think America wants singers because that's what they're used to. They don't know how many hours and years go into perfecting another talent. Look at Karaoke - it's mainstream now. Everyone thinks they can judge singing. Hardly anyone knows anything about other entertainment.

Jesschelle has spent MANY YEARS perfecting her singing talent. Most people who sing "Karaoke" are pretty horrible at it. That's why it's a favorite drunk pasttime. Singing is also a talent when, it is someone's talent, they spend many hours and years to perfect. You cannot compare karaoke with real singing talent as Jesschelle has.

Never said its not a talent. I simply said that this show is looking at the general definition for talent. Let's not get off track. Sure they want singers, but they want everyone. So, don't be offended when people don't make it to the next round because someone else's talent was considered better. You're entitled to your own opinion, but please, be civilized about it.

You misunderstood me. I am not comparing karaoke (which I absolutely hate) to anyone's real vocal talent. I am just saying that the majority of Americans have seen karaoke, and therefore feel that they are qualified to judge anyone who sings. That's why they are voting for the singers on this show instead of other acts.

You're right. I hear it all the time. Parents second guessing teachers and making statements like, "I went to school. I know what I'm talking about." Most of us, myself included, can't really judge talent on ability. We can only judge it by what we like.

I was Jess's music prof, and I just wanted to support her fans's enthusiasm for her talents. She is every bit as lovely inside as out, and was an A student. But more than that, she is a great composer, which begs the question: other than the crappy band tonight, have we heard any original music on this show?

I hope she finds an alternate outlet for her prodigious talents, because this venue has squandered them. I'm glad someone posted her myspace link. I can assure you that she has more to offer than the little you've heard, and her own songs are quite sophisticated.

I had not heard of her until someone posted her link here on the boards, missed when she was on the show, apparently. She is very good, and for whatever reason she is not on the show, we are all missing some amazing talent. Sad to see many who have gone on to perform, and not see her on there. I agree with the others, though, with her voice she will make it, and won't need AGT to do it. She is one I would definitely buy her CD.

as for everyone who have posted on this particular board, thanks for all the support you've shown for Jesschelle!! she truly is AMAZING, and hopefully next time she will be given better hospitality and a better chance than AGT has shown her. She has a wonderful talent and it's a shame America didn't get to see it through this show.

You won't see a lot of new topics on Jesschelle because she never got the opportunity to perform on tv. After checking out the links that were posted I am totally amazed she wasn't chosen. But like I said earlier, she should jump on the bandwagon for the next American Idol auditions.
