Full Version: LEE Nat'l Denim Day
NBC > Primetime > The Office > Funtivities
steph15
October 6th is LEE National Denim Day. On Officetally you can watch a PSA from the "Office" cast saying that they will wear denim to work for breast cancer. Here's my question: What will they do about the show? I mean, how will they write it into the episode? Maybe it will be casual Friday in the office. Any ideas?
jenns1217
Michael will probably make it a causal day-even if it isn't Friday. Its just an excuse to wear his jeans, that he looks so good in. hahaha.

It would work assuming none of the women wear Mom Jeans.

Would Meredith's lovely denim peasant skirt count?
Dwight: overalls?
Somehow I see Creed in a denim vest and bell-bottoms.

Back in 197-, my mom bought a pair of Jordache jeans. She made the mistake of asking my brother and I if she looked like a cowgirl. He was the one that said, "No, you look like a girl-cow", not me.

I'm due for some new jeans. I lost my baby-weight and all of my jeans fall ghetto-style. For the first time in forever, I'm thinking about not getting Levis. I always tought, "Levi Strauss of San Francisco, awesome", but my last two pairs were made in Colombia and someplace called Lesotho. As American as baseball and apple pie, my tuchus.

I see Dwight arriving in jeans and denim jacket and finishing the outfit with a denim bucket hat.
Roy_Anderson
i think that they will only actually shoot them wearing jeans for one day, the rest will be the normal buisness attire. Just one fourth of the shots will have them in jeans and they wont address it in the show.

That's all I wore during my four years of high school... sans hat. Man, I was lame. The worst evidence of that is my sophomore yearbook picture, in which I'm wearing my jean jacket, complete with Iron Maiden and Megadeth patches. Why didn't the photographer just wave me by and call out, "Next!"?

I'll bet your brother's funeral was the saddest ever.

I'm betting that it will be a casual Friday scene. After what we saw last season (with Michael in his jeans, I can't remember the episode), I think it will be funny, and I'd love to see what the whole office looks like casual.
TV_Nerd
Yeah I can see Micheal making up an excuse to wear his jeans. I'd like to see Jim in some more casual clothes too. Gotta love those sweaters. biggrin.gif

I have a sleeveless denim jacket compete with patches, buttons, and studs. I think it makes me look pretty cool. In fact, when I was walking to work the other day someone screamed what I thought was a compliment. It did kinda sound like they were screaming "fffaaaaaaa..." but I'd prefer to think it was something nice. I really wish people would slow their car down when they yell stuff at me, it's hard to tell what they are trying to say.

Come to think of it, it was a guy screaming "dude cut your hair" that made me get my shoulder-length hair trimmed.

I had an acid washed denim jumpsuit that I wore - complete with red turtleneck, red stretchy belt, keds, red AND white socks (2 pair) and big red hoop earrings...

Oh, and I pegged the legs...

And that's a bit 'o the 80's that should NEVER come back....

I bet Merideth has mom jeans. I'd like to see Stanley in jeans - not really his style...
office4me
My history teacher last year taught the whole class how to peg jeans and said he would give anyone who wore their jeans pegged for the entire next day extra credit. The style appauled the whole class. Obviously none of us took him up on that extra credit oppurtunity.

That fraction doesn't make any sense.

Neither do pegged jeans. Didn't stop anyone in the 80s. -wince-

Question: what, exactly, are pegged jeans? I may have missed something in the 80s.

You didn't miss anything. You escaped it.

I found this definition online:

Pegged jeans are jeans taken in until they are excessively tapered. Done right, it's just possible to get one's foot through the bottom. If you gain weight, you'll have to throw them out.

Although pegging jeans is traditionally a DIY project, it is now possible to buy jeans already pegged in the mall.

I still don't really know what that means.

So, they are the opposite of Bell Bottoms?

Please warn me next time. I'm going to have 80's nightmares now. I'm still trying to figure out if leg warmers actually work.

Yes, they do. But don't wear them over your jeans. That's just stupid.

I'll assume you have the pictures to prove it.
MelloJello_resorbed
oh wow, I forgot about leg warmers, my sister had them and she could carry them off, even over jeans. I, on the otherhand, looked like I had edema. But yeah, they actually worked. I wore them when I shoveled snow, along with my Michelin-Man orange down coat. Trim obviously does not describe anything in my fashion past.
muffyduffy
It's best to simply laugh at old styles, but never admit that you actually participated in them. I will never admit how many inches my bangs rose above my forehead, although I'm sure they were spotted by a space shuttle in orbit.

I was so happy when the poodle bangs finally fell. Even at the height of their popularity, I knew they were wrong.

It's okay. Just imagine how the 16-22 year-olds are going to have to explain the whole baggy pants thing to their kids. "Having the cuff of your pants curl under your ankle was considered cool at the time." I feel sorry for all of the children that will have to see pictures of their mom that were taken during her ***** phase.

More like 21-30 year olds. Baggy pants are a dead fashion. Kids today wear either girl jeans (guys) or sweat pants with 'juicy' on the *** (girls)
jamalot
Okay, every time I see "Juicy" in block letters on the buttocks of sweat pants I just want to lose it. Even now, I am fighting the urge to use my caps lock.

Back -- somewhat -- onto topic: I'm guessing that Kelly's jeans will have all kinds of embroidery or other embellishment on the "seat" portion. I just can't see her in Levi's.

I shopped for jeans last night. I think I may have stumbled across a pair of these peg-legged jeans. I tried them on. It wasn't pretty. I felt kind like Kramer when he had on those tight jeans that caused him to walk around like Frankenstein.

Don't wanna see any of our girls in the office wear these.

Okay, a lot of these styles, I admit, are a bit before my time(1991 & on). Except the poodle bangs. From about kindergarten to fifth grade, my mom curled my bangs in a big poof on my forehead. The best year, judging from my school picture, was in 3rd grade. I have really long hair and during the course of the day it got tangled. Anyway, I now realize that my picture looks like I have a mullet. Yeah, that's not good. Oh and FYI, I grew out my bangs about 3 years ago, so no more poof.
