So, what did everyone think of this bit?

It looked like last minute filler material to me.

Totally disagree! There's no way that could have been last minute, what with Bob Costas and all.
I liked it because it was something really different. I liked La Bamba's little rain dance. I didn't like the "rain" effect, but I liked Conan under the tarp and the leaf blower.
It was fun.

Maybe last minute was the wrong way to put it. It just appeared that there was little comedic effort put into it. I just think it was boring, and wasn't funny. And at first I thought the rain effect was static on my TV.

me too! i thought it could have been planned together but because baseball is so hot and contagious right now and because baseball and high ratings go together, it needed to be done at this specific time.

Oh man I laughed so hard when La Bamba did the rain dance! And Conan's hair after it came out from under the tarp was RUINED but then the leaf blower blowed it and it BOUNCED RIGHT BACK. That was funny. I didn't think it was boring.

Despite the fact that I was disappointed in this sketch, the show was still great. Barenaked Ladies were awesome. I grew up listening to those guys, it was cool to see them on Conan.

I completely disagree with Howard Smith. I think this it is going to be a classic. I found it cute and funny like a Chaplin or Marx Brothers bit. The other thing that I think was good about the scene was that it would have kept the audience entertained aswell. Overall your wrong I'm right end of story.

I finally saw this sketch! This is a very rare type of sketch it seems and totally caught me off-guard. I thought it was really creative and interesting. LOL at LaBamba dancing to Hilary Duff. (The Joel in I <3 Hilary shirt image is still plaguing me.) I really liked that image of The View being hit by a tornado. That's another one my mom watches that I can't stand... I also thought the groundskeepers were really hot. MMM INTERNS. (Chuck, are you paying attention? ) And I love Bob Costas forever because he was Conan's first guest when I saw the show live.

I must know what the heck is in Conan's hair! The way it bounced back with the leaf blower was nothing short of miraculous.

The rain effect was really weird. I don't think I've ever seen that before on TV. I love the crappy special effects on Late Night. Does anyone remember during the last audience talents bit the talent of "juggling 10 balls at once".. I think that was the worst "special effect" ever. But that makes me love it more. lol

Also TOTALLY agree with BTP that Conan looked like he could be Mother Teresa's son with the way he was holding that tarp on his head. Thanks, BTP, this completely cracked me up.

I really enjoyed this bit because it was really clever and it came, forgive the baseball cliche, "out of left field." It was different, it was fresh, it was unlike anything I'd seen before and other shows would definitely not be offering up anything like this. This willingness to take chances is why I heart Late Night.

And I would kill to know what Conan uses in his hair. Do you know how valuable knowlege like that is??? If he'd own up, he could make thousands of women happy at once! That's gotta count for something

I havent yet seen this bit but from the sounds of it its very random and odd so I can pretty much guarentee that Im going to love it I'll watch it when I get home. I really need to get out a bit more dont I... NAH!

I need that little rain cloud emotocon stapled to my forhead along with an "I Fail At Life" sign. My Theory professor just shot down my paper idea 2 weeks before its due...I feel like banging my head agaisnt a wall.

I hear ya. I feel like I'm on a freaking Conan high right now since they've been doing new shows nonstop since the beginning of September, and 5 shows a week no less for the majority. The next rerun week is gonna be nasty. :\

If only they could show classic old Conan reruns during those times, that would be so much better than reruns from earlier in the season.

That would be awesome.

Oh God, when they go to reruns...I am going to be depressed for a week straight.

yeah that's gonna make me really suicidal for a week. oh wait.. nevermind...

I keep saying on weeks they're doing reruns they should start at the beginning and just show them in order from the very start. That would be really cool and interesting and most importantly, it would make ME happy!
