Fechin' I love the show and been wanting to go see the movie. None of my friends want to see it so I'll have to go alone. sad.gif They all like dramas. I'm going to have to go see that horror movie about the dummies that come to life and kill people. I saw a preview last nite, and I just froze. I'm so spooked by dolls that come to life. It looks dumb but I need a good scare.

Possessed dolls is my big (irrational) fear. I hate them. Was that the one called "Dead Silence?" I didn't even see a preview for it, but I was on rottentomatoes.com looking up stuff on "Zodiac" and a nonsense ad for it came up on the side. Creepy! The eyes of the doll moved when my mouse went over it- and I had to leave the site. Yeah, I will not be going to see that movie.

Don't think I'll be going to see that either. The whole dolls coming alive thing tends to creep me out blink.gif

Netflix movies that came today: The Thin Man (can't wait to watch this biggrin.gif ) and Days of Heaven

Rush Hour 3 out this summer.

I was looking at a few reviews and such, and people have said it's really bad. So, that should be a consolation price- for all of us. wink.gif

I was going to post the trailer, but I really don't want to see it, so...we all get reprieved!

I was going through the pages and you made jump in my chair. Glad you took it down. Jackie chan still do his own stunts? Getting a bit older now to be doing all that stuff.
Going_Mach_5
I think that is why his movies since 2000 are not as good. I like him in Rush Hour, but most the other movies he has made since he stopped doing a lot of stunts and fighting scenes are not as good as the mid-nineties movies like Mr. Nice Guy and Rumble in the Bronx.

I just saw a preview for it on TV. I'm not going to watch the full trailer, but it does look pretty stupid.

Still hate possessed dolls though.

I am guessing that you didn't like the first two.

I also dislike possessed dolls, Chucky in particular.

The only chucky movie I've ever been able to watch was Bride of Chucky. And, well, that was just a joke. The originals? Nope. As soon as he starts talking, I'm gone!

Did you ever see the x-files episode with the possessed doll? Written by Stephen King? It was OK. I can watch that, but it still gives me the heebie jeebies.

I was so scared of Chucky when I was little, my cousin had a doll that looked the dolls in the movie and everytime I came to their house she would try to scare me with it,

Never watched the x-files but I recently saw some of Puppet Master a couple of weeks ago, not really that scary more stupid.

I'm with you, I was scared of him when I was little, too. The commercials got me.

Was the doll a My Buddy?? That's classic.

That is rumored to be the inspiration of the movies.

I never saw Puppet Master. Have you seen Asylum? One of the characters builds these little evil robot people. That was kinda scary, too- If I remember right. (I know I've seen that movie, I remember the robots, but I can't tell you anything else about it! Except that guy from Star Wars was in it. LOL)

Yes! Kid Sister! My parents wouldn't get me one. But, I can still sing the commercial. Is that pathetic? Should I have kept that too myself. My parents did get me Cricket though. The doll version of Teddy Rukspin.

I didn't recognize him at first, then I looked at his profile.

Is Teddy Rukspin the bear that would talk, me and my friend found a teddy bear that was a phone I think it was Teddy Rukspin.

the seed of chucky, the boy doll, I swear it's the same voice as the guy who did pinky from pinky and the brain. The x-files one king wrote was called Chinga. thats a bad bad word.

I did something this week that I don't think I've ever done. I bought the DVD of a movie that I haven't seen yet. Everyone on here is always raving about BBC Pride & Prejudice, so when I saw the DVD on Target.com for $20, I bought it. I think I'm gonna watch it tomorrow. I really loved the book, so I'm expecting good things from the miniseries, too. Besides, 6 hours of P&P for $20? Sounds like a good deal to me.

So I'm watching P&P today, as promised, and it's very good! I was really surprised to see Lucy Davis (Dawn Tinsley) in it!! I hadn't heard anyone mention on here that she was in it. I think this is definitive proof that we are supposed to compare The Office and Jane Austen novels. Perhaps that old thread should be resurrected...not by me, though. I'm going to take a shower and get back to my P&P.

I just bought Stranger than Fiction which came with Big Fish also got Little Miss Sunshine for only 13 bucks biggrin.gif.

Speaking of Will Ferrell, I finally relented and bought Talladega Nights. I still haven't watched it, though. I was trying to fight it as I live in Talladega county and I loathe all those racing fans (they're everywhere around here). Problem is, I have always been a fan of Will Farrell and John C. Reilley. Has anyone seen it? Should I watch it or pass it along to a redneck relative?
Going_Mach_5
I loved it, my whole family saw it and loved it. It has similar humor to Anchorman, I think you should watch it.
Bailey08
Talladega Nights is good, when you know what you're getting. It's a Will Ferrell movie.

I thought the movie has some great dialogue. I was impressed with the script and the delivery at some points.
Going_Mach_5
The scene with the knife in Will's leg is my favorite, I started crying it was so funny.
lunakitty
Thanks, you guys! I had pretty much decided to give it a chance, anyway. One of my extremely judgemental friends said that it was "sh!t in your pants funny"! I guess I'll have to make sure I have my adult diaper on before I watch it! tongue.gif
Fechin
Talladega Nights was ok just living in the south and not being from here its just a bit of an overload when I can see this stuff in real life LOL

Meaning I can see the "real" Talladega Nights by going outside.

aka rednecks and stupid Nascar etc etc etc etc etc

I live in North Carolina and most of my neighbours are from the north, where in Georgia is this at?
Fechin
My point was is that I was watching a movie that was funny but at times it just reminded me too much of where I was living and I already get enough of that on a day to day thing.

It does not have to be only in GA it can be anywhere in the south.

and I'm not insulting all of the south just most of it tongue.gif jk
Going_Mach_5
I know what you mean, I have been to a couple of Nascar races and seen some crazy people. Generally around where I live there aren't that many people that have been born and raised here like me, alot of my good friends are from somewhere up north. I don't know if that is how it is in GA, but that seems to be the tend for NC.

i just watched Dr Strangelove in my history class. I really like the parts that i could hear (alot of obnoxious people talking through the whole thing) i was just wondering if you guys thought it would be worth it to see it again all the way through?

Dr Strangelove is DEFINETLY worth watching again! What a great movie. A comedy classic.
Going_Mach_5
YES.

Peter Sellers is hilarious in it, the whole movie is great really. Did you see the part at the end with guy riding the atomic bomb?
WhitestSneakers
^^yes i did see that part!

thanks for the feedback, now i know what to rent this weekend. smile.gif
Going_Mach_5
If you haven't seen the orignal Pink Panther movies with Peter Sellers you should check those out.

I saw Zodiac today! It was good - but it was long. The story was interesting and the actors were great. I'm a huge fan of Mark Ruffalo and thought he was awesome playing David Toschi - the cop who was obsessed with the case. Thumbs up from me!
Fechin
I want to see that movie so bad but I dunno when I'll be able too see it!

Thanks for the review smile.gif

Not sure what thread this really belongs in, so I'll take a chance that this works.
We are going to be in the Scranton area on Sunday to look at a puppy. Has anyone ever figured out IF there really was a Dunder Mifflin, what area of Scranton it would be it? I may try to get a picture of me standing in front of a "Welcome to Scranton" while wearing my D-M shirt! laugh.gif

You should definitely watch this again. I watched it in a film class I took junior year. I thought it was very funny but a lot of people in my class didn't really "get it". Once again I guess it has to do with my weird sense of humor.
rocker creed
One of the funniest things about Strangelove is watching Slim Pickens act.

Slim wasn't told it was a comedy and his scenes didn't contain anything funny. So he plays the role straight. But his straight role comes across as very funny in the movie.
Going_Mach_5
My favorite part is Peter Sellers as Dr. Strangelove, he is a comic genius.

Yeah, I heard a good review, the only real criticism was that the movie was 2 hrs. and 40 minutes long. Usually that would make me think twice, but I've got to see this one.

I was just at Target, (danger! danger!), and bought a stack of movies. I'm really having a bad reaction to all this kid's programming for my 4-year old. I need some grown-up material, so I got Babel, Syriana, Unforgiven, Seven, Rear Window, and S1 of Arrested Development. And my kid's at the babysitter's . . . . . smile.gif
