Okay - guilty confession time: Since I purchased it the other day, I have watched The Holiday four times.
For some reason, the romance of this movie totally grabs me - and I am even delighted with Cameron Diaz (an actor I normally find fairly repellent). Jude Law is another thing altogether - I have never liked him in a role before (I found him kind of creepy and unctious), but there is something about him in this role that I just love. He has transcended into the Cary Grant-esque performance, and that is the highest compliement I can pay.
I bought that today at He||mart! And going to watch it in a little while and tune out the kinder

i despise Diaz as well but I am a sucka for Bad Boy Jude

Nah, it's on in the background while I'm at the computer. Hugh Grant just came on, so it's OK for the moment.
I saw it when it first came out, not since. Maybe not ever again.

I do that too. Ever notice though that the stuidos had lots of contract players. Weird little thing when I was watching Laura, the credits listed a make up artist-Guy Pearce. How strange. that the exact same name of two different people would both be actors from different generations.
A good comedy is the LONG LONG TRAILER. It's lucille ball and I think henry fonda? Haven't seen it in a while. but I know a fonda is in it.

Yeah- during the 30's, 40's and 50's, many studios "lent out" a lot of there actors to other studios for certain movies too.

I saw it in the theaters cause there wasn't anything else out..I hadn't realized I said this out loud- "fergie! I don't want to be stuck on no boat with no da.mn fergie, let it sink" I didn't know she was the lounge act, but it got alot of laughs.

Hey, bw, I have one that you may not have seen... did you ever catch "Desk Set" with Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracey? It was considered kind of risque at its time... now all the so-called sexy stuff is just totally funny and charming.
Because I have a broken brain (113 hours of work since last Thursday - ugh!), I'm about to pop in my old-favorite "Charade" and fade away. Even if I'm asleep in the first five minutes of it, it is bound to give my sleep a positive background (and if I end up dreaming of Cary Grant, so much the better!).

Oh yeah- I love Desk Set. I actually find it kinda tame compared to some of the scenes in Women of the Year with the both of them. I actually couldn't believe a few of the scenes in that movie being made in 1942 and all. Not that it was anything like today's movies- but still. It was a great movie too. But yes- I do like Desk Set

My husband is watching Talladega Nights right now. We never get to the theater so we usually have to wait for Netflix -- I am enjoying the cameos (guest stars from The Office)-- Dave Koechner and the guy that plays the building manager. Other than that, I am having trouble even listening to it -- those kids talking so much trash is killing me.

Review: Reign Over Me
What a wonderful movie just plain and simple as that.
This movie really did have everything and the cast did a wonderful job. Who says Sandler can't act? They are lame if they still say that after this movie. Don Cheadle was just perfect his acting was really perfect to say the least.
I'll just put it like this if you liked the trailer then you won't be disappointed. In fact it was even better than I ever dreamed it could be.
This is not a 9-11 movie so do not let that scare you off it's just part of the backstory of Sandler's character.
You care about the people in the film and feel that they are real and that is what makes a good film.
I am not really sure what to rate this film I really don't I feel that I would not be able to do it justice if I were to just put a number on it.
So Verdict: 10 out of 10
A wonderful story with a perfect mix of everything.
OFFICE RELATED: BJ Ryan played a part and wow he may have played the biggest jerk I have ever seen in a movie. I would have used a stronger word but it would block it out I am sure. P.S. He was a lawyer with no heart. Good thing he was put in place.
