I thought this was a great movie! Although I haven't been able to find anyone else who enjoyed it as much as I did. My friend tells me it was too fast paced.
I really like watching foreign movies, most of it is more entertaining than some of the stuff we put out. Anyone else a big foreign movie watcher?
Glad to hear someone saw and liked 'Brick' -the fast language was so good. There's another one just out that looks good, called 'The Lookout.' I also like foreign movies. One of my all time favorites is a Dutch film (Eng subtitles) 'Flight of the Rainbirds.' It's hilarious and serious too (similiar premise as '40 yr Old Virgin'). It came out about 1992. Other good foreign movies:
'Fanny and Alexander' (based on Ingmar Bergman's childhood - no wonder he made movies like 'Hour of the Wolf'...poor kid). Irish film about the boy who wanted to dance ballet 'Billy....?'

Espeacially because Adam Sandler looks exactly like BOB DYLAN!!
Also,
I finally saw 300!!
And was utterly speechless for a whole day after seeing it.
Glorious, it was Glorious.
Gerard Butler is my new favorite man.

The Lookout looks very interesting! I'll add that to my must see list. I'll also have to check out Flight of the Rainbirds and Fanny and Alexander but its very hard to find foreign movies around where I live. I've seen Billy Elliot, great film. I also have a lot of films to recommend but its just too many.

I thought it was great.
Not too gory, because the way it was filmed was stylized. The bllod squirting was beautiful., to say the least.

Well I guess I don't consider blood squirting beautiful no matter what the angle

.
I thought the narration during the movie was about as exciting and a 7th grade science video.
I just did not like it I mean I can see why people like it. It just was not a movie for me I did not think anything was that great about it.
Plus if I heard them scream Sparta one more time I was about to kill someone with a sword

Rocky balboa- I sorta liked it. I'm a sucker for a rocky movie though.
Turistas- oh my god-it's poo on a dvd. horrible horrible movie
P&P(jane austen) the new one- haven't watched it yet
We're not married- marylin monroe, ginger rogers, mitzi gaynor- saw alittle last nite and it's funny. Ginger rogers is really very funny, she dishes it out like a man. Going to finish that one later today
I have to go and change the tv-mad max is on and I think thats one stupid movie

I just got back from seeing GRINDHOUSE. It was freakin' awesome!!
The 1st movie, Planet Terror was insane; non-stop action, blood and guts - I laughed so hard I was crying. The 2nd, Death Proof was slow at first, but by the end, the entire audience were yelling, laughing and clapping.
That was one of the most fun movie experiences I've had in a long time. Two thumbs up from me (and a leg, an eyeball and some flying body parts)!

No, honestly I can't. Also, if the phrase " Frankly, my dear, I don't give a d@mn" seems to appear in my posts quite often, ignore it. Hopefully it will pass soon.

there is a ton of great history behind that movie. Can you imagine if selznick couldn't use the word d@mn cause of the censors.
Most people know this, but when rhett and scarlette are leaving atlanta and that huge building is on fire..that building was the gates in the orginal king kong. they burned it. I love that bit. And scarlettes wedding dress when she married charles, was viven leighs real mothers wedding dress.

Alrighty, I stayed up late last nite and watched P&P. First impression, it looks like a mini series that wants to look like a film thats a flim that wants to look like a BBC miniseries on film. You following me. It was very controlled the directing, way too rigid. And I don't know how anyone else feels, but I didn't believe for a second that those two actors had any real chemisty. The story is so wonderful and it can be done so much better I think. I loved the look of the film but it never really captured me. I prefer the mini series. Perhaps emma thompson should have had a crack at the screen play.
