I LOVE Shaun of the Dead!

What I really liked about that movie was that it's not only funny and full of suspense, but it made me cry at some parts.
I'm a dork.
But I really want to see 'Hot Fuzz', I think it looks great.
If you're a dork, I am too. When bad things happen to good moms, i'm easily upset.
Shaun of the Dead is one of my faaaaaaaaaavorite movies! ..quite possibly one of my desert island movies.

My sister bought my daughter a book based on the new Shrek movie. It was full of spoilers!

But it looked really funny.
did u put a label it saying, "SPOILERS AND SPECULATION"?
My niece always gets those 'movie' books and she likes reading them to me...i get that "aw man!" feeling..cuz i wanna watch the movie, too but dont like knowing what happens ahead of time.
oddly enough, that only applies to 'kiddie' movies

...i do enjoy reading books and watching the movie adaptations...but i'm disappointed more often then not. perfect example: MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA.

I heard on the radio the other morning, this lady calls in and gives a review of grindhouse and I think she said the zombie part in the first movie was funny, but after that it got really stupid and the second one wasn't worth watching and she gave the advice to leave after the zombie part.
I'll never see it because it looks really dumb and Tarentino has put out good movies, mainly Kill Bill, but this one stunk I heard. I also heard that Martinez's part of the movie was great.

I agree... I read the book and was really excited for the movie, but it turned out being a disappointment. The same goes for The Devil Wears Prada, Roots, Cold Mountain (not quite as bad), and lots of others. I just think a movie had better stick to the book and be darned good in order for them to make it into a movie. Otherwise, it's not really worth it to me.

She's right. Tarantino's movie is okay, but not as good as the first one. I'm not a Tarantino fan as it is, but this movie seemed very unlike his usual films. If you plan to see it and leave after the first one, you should at least stay for the fake 'upcoming previews', because those are hilarious.

I actually loved both movies, so I would reccomend sticking around for both. The first was hilarious and so much fun to watch, which makes Tarantino's really really slow by comparison. There's a lot more talking in the second, but stick with it and the ending is a huge payoff. Hilarious and violent = so worth it.
But dont see either if you have a weak stomach or are easily offended. Actually, not even easily. Both movies and the 'previews' try pretty hard to be offensive, so you have to be able to appreciate that kind of humor.

Smokin Aces was just fun. I knew it wasn't going to be like a good wow you type of movie. Truth be told I rented it for the ryan reynolds factor. And I was sort of disappointed..he wasn't shirtless at all!! But still a fun movie. Can I say as well Mr. Piven gives off the Don't you know who I am jerk vibe.
Last king of scotland- OMG! It really was one of the best movies I've seen. Now I'm more mad I didn't see it in theaters. Forrest whittakers performance was steller and deserved the oscar. If anyone is on the fence about it, rent it. It's really a brillant movie. And nice surprise is gillian anderson is in it.

Splendor in the Grass: I must admit- this is probably one of the strangest movies I've ever seen. I watched all of it- but didn't really like it. I'm still trying to understand why it won an Oscar for Best Screenplay

For those of you that haven't seen 'Reign Over Me' yet, I highly recommend it. It's a bit long, but Adam Sandler does a fantastic job with his role. The friendship between his character and that of Don Cheadle's is very sweet, and it might even make you a bit teary-eyed.
Also, BJ Novak has a smal role in this. I wasn't aware of it until the opening credits.

Saw Disturbia, Blades of Glory, and Premonition in the last 2 weeks.
I laughed through every one. I don't think I'm going to allow myself into movie theaters anymore, because I annoy everyone around me. I laugh through the romantic/deep scenes.
In "Disturbia", there's a scene where this kid sneaks into a garage and then he notices there's someone else in the garage so he puts his face into the video camera he's holding and starts screaming and making faces. I laughed so hard I started to choke and I had to leave for a little bit.
