OMG yes it did!!!
I saw the 8 o clock showing and I have been dying to talk about it!! I loved it so much!!
Agree that the 1st one was better, but this one was better than the second.
And that ending, I am in love with the ending... one of them being just how hot William was!! and Elizabeth was nto to bad looking herself!!

I also saw Pirates 3 tonight. It was okay, but I think it could grow on me. Unlike the second movie that I have only seen twice and do not care to ever see again. The first was an exception. I really enjoyed the first movie (mostly because of Jack Sparrow's ingenious conniving) and the third returned more to the feel of the first. I do not think the third is a must see, but it was worth the money.
I know others did not like Spiderman 3, but it is still the best movie I have seen this summer.
Just a side note. I was at Disneyland last Thursday night through Friday morning. I saw the last touches being put on the stage where Pirates would appear. It was interesting to see all the little details being added for the premiere that would happen only hours later. It was almost as entertaining as the rides.

The last movie in theaters I saw was 28 WEEKS LATER. The last movie on DVD I saw was STRANGER THAN FICTION. My impressions ...
28 WEEKS LATER was a very good movie. No movie stars, but a really good story and really good acting for a horror flick. The parallels to the Iraq War were disturbing: Another country trying to rebuild is occupied by the American military, who tries to help but just inadvertently makes things worse, and the problem spreads to neighboring countries. The actual horror shots are few but some are VERY gory. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes smart horror.
STRANGER THAN FICTION was surprising in that I had no idea Will Ferrell could be so normal. I'm used to his off-the-wall comedic persona, but this subdued version was refreshing. The story was original too. And gets you thinking about how you're living your own life: drowning in minute details or doing what you want.
It's a good DVD rental.
Oh, and I saw SPIDER-MAN 3. Having read the comics when I was younger, I can honestly say they should have gone in a different direction with the premise. I'm glad they resolved the Peter/MJ and Peter/Harry storylines, but Venom could have been saved for the next trilogy. H#ll, the black suit could have been the next 3 movies. And now SPIDER-MAN 4's already been green-lit for 2009? Too much, too soon, fellas.

I liked Stranger Than Fiction a lot. I haven't seen Spider-Man or Pirates yet--I am kind of dreading it because I cannot sit in a movie theatre for three hours! I do not understand the obsession with making 150+ minute movies. Most movies that are this long can afford to lose about 30+ minutes easily.

Yeah- it's the "watch now" button. They don't have a whole lot of movies- but the ones in the "classics" section are pretty good ones

I ended up watching Fried Green Tomatoes the other night- its included on the "drama" list.

Let's talk about a REAL movie! Star Wars!
Today 30 years ago the world changed forever...A movie STAR WARS came out in theaters...on this very day 30 years ago? Was it really that long ago? Or was it really that not long ago? Star Wars you are part of my definition in life you made me think outside the box and open up my imagination. Along with many many other things so it's with this I say THANK YOU George Lucas for this vision of yours as NOTHING will ever come close to this saga in any of our lifetimes on how it affected our lives and culture.

I love Coupling. But, I also love Friends. Coupling was the UK's version of Friends, but it was different enough that the US needed a version of Coupling. HA!
They have similarities and they have big differences. Coupling focused more strictly on relationships and sex, Friends branched out more. And obviously what they could talk about was a lot different because of regulations. The sex talk was much more
open on Coupling.
I recommend it!
I love Star Wars.

Why is Scrooged on in May on HBOFE? I dont know but i'm a fan of this scene:
Lady Censor: I will not allow this costume on the air.
Frank Cross: Why not?
Lady Censor: Well, specifically: you can see her nipples.
Frank Cross: I want to see her nipples!
Lady Censor: But, this is a Christmas show!
Frank Cross: Well, Charles Dickens would've wanted to see her nipples, then.

Today I watched "An Affair To Remember" & holy crap, I totally forgot what a romantic heart breaking film it is. I was bawling at the end, especially when Deborah Kerr's character said:
Terry McKay: [voice shaking, ready to cry] If you can paint I can walk- anything can happen, right?
This is easily one of the greatest romantic films to have ever been made. The chemistry between the two leads is amazing & that's one reason why the film is such a classic master piece. I laughed & I cried. Who ever thought that their could be a love story as grand as this one. Love it, love it, love it.

Fun, yet horribly contrived and irritably cliche.
AND Bryce Dallas Howard, whom I actually have major respect for as an actor (she's really great) played such a horrible bit part. I couldn't believe she accepted that, but whatever.

Can someone get the bleach out please? I just spent about an hour watching one of the worst movies ever made (#11 on IMDB.com's worst movies) The bleach would have been less painful than the movie. Thankfully I saw the MST3K version- but even that wasn't hilarious. I think everyone on that show was caught up in the horrendous movie that is
Manos: The Hands of Fate. It was only a 70 minute movie (I fast forwarded some of it

Has anyone seen the new comedy movie KNOCKED UP that opened this weekend?
First off, it was pretty good! Very funny in spots, good ensemble cast, likeable characters...
But the most fun was seeing THREE Office cast members in cameo roles! BJ (Ryan) played one of several gynecologists the pregnant lead character was trying out till she found just the right doctor. She's in the stirrups and he's asking if she's single even though her boyfriend is sitting right there with her!
Craig (Darryl) played a bouncer at a club who had some funny lines!
And Steve played himself. The pregnant character's job in the movie was as an on-air interviewer for E! Entertainment Television. They showed her talking to Steve on the red carpet briefly. He was funny too, as always!
So...nice surprises!
On a related note, the star of KNOCKED UP (Katherine Heigl) is actually in Rhode Island, where I live, filming a new movie called 27 DRESSES this month. A friend of mine is working on the movie set and I stopped by to visit her today. They were filming outside at a local park. Unfortunately, just as I arrived a terrible thunder and lightning storm with heavy rains started so everything had been packed into trucks. Didn't spot any stars...
My friend told me, though, that Melora Hardin also has a small part in this movie and was in town for two days filming her part!
Stapler
Jun 1 2007, 09:29 PM
Yup, just verified Melora's role in 27 DRESSES in Variety:
Melora Hardin ("The Office") and Judy Greer ("The TV Set") have joined the cast of Spyglass Entertainment's "27 Dresses." Anne Fletcher directs the romantic comedy about Jane (Katherine Heigl), a compulsive bridesmaid, and Kevin (James Marsden), a reporter who profiles her. Greer will play Jane's best friend; Hardin will play Kevin's editor.
Hardin will next be seen in "Drive-Thru" and "The Comebacks" and will make her directorial debut on "Once Tomorrow, Now Yesterday." Greer has "The Grand" and ABC's "Miss/Guided" upcoming.
