I just got back from seeing Transformers.
Wow.
It was incredibly entertaining and I enjoyed it.
Shia LaBeouf was just as amazing as I knew he would be. Shaping up to be a great actor!
Although, the talking Transformers kind of made me laugh, even though they weren't supposed to. I don't like that they talked, was kinda corny. But, I understand that they talked in the show, so it's nice that they kept it the same.
Very funny at parts. Good lines. Shia's parents were HILARIOUS.
Good summer fun.

I loved License to Wed. Sometimes movies are just supposed to fun and lighthearted and LTW fit the bill in this regard. My sister and I went together so we could swoon over John K together and we did so lovingly! I laughed a lot although many in the theater did not. It's a very specific kind of humor and not everyone gets it and I can live with that. It's one of those movies that you can sit back and simply enjoy. They don't make a lot of light movies anymore that I'd feel comfortable watching with my grandparents. This is a movie I'd take them to and not worry about whether they are offended or horrified! Whatever happened to good-clean-fun movies besides Disney!?
I saw Transformers this morning and YUCK! I was really excited to see this movie and I was terribly disappointed. I saw several trailers earlier in the summer and it looked like it was going to be a great action flick. The first half of the movie was pretty good but then it all fell apart. The story ( I use this word loosely) never came together and there were too many annoying and pointless characters. Most of the battles were so fast paced I couldn't tell what was going on or figure out how it fit into the story. By the end I gave up trying to sort through the confusion. I found myself sitting through an action sequence not caring who won. There were a lot of cool effects but the camera shots were so rushed it was hard to see anything. If you're going to focus on special effects instead of a story, at least give the audience a chance to see them!

I cannot wait to see the Simpsons movie. I haven't been that thrilled with the last few seasons, so I'm hoping the movie makes up for them a little. The older ones are just classic. I'm also interested to see the box office for the movie. Opening weekend of 40+ maybe? Hard to tell yet.

That's exactly how Family Guy is. Miscellaneous topics strung together = a punchline. It's like manatees are choosing random topics written on balls in a giant tank. I agree that The Simpsons hasn't been the greatest over the past couple years, but it's still better than most things on TV, and it's still worth watching, IMHO.

Also, I did manage to see Transformers...and it was honestly much better than I was expecting. The action was great...the special effects incredible...and it was a legitimately funny movie with lots of decent acting. I was ticked that Optimus Prime didn't have his laser-bazooka from the TV show (yup..I remember watching it as a kid), but that's only one of a few relatively small complaints

Definitely a great summer popcorn flick.

I'm with JAM4EVA on this one. Personally, I like South Park the best out of the three, but Family Guy is right behind it. The Simpsons, in my opinion was groundbreaking for about 4 seasons, and then it lost it. I'm not saying the show is bad, but for me it just got stale.

Hugh Jackman is amazing, he made me cry about 12 times just looking at him while he is crying. Great performance by that man!
However, I was confused during the movie, but then after it was abruptly over, i thought about it and watched the theatrical trailer and understood it much better.

That surprised me, too. I'm absolutley thrilled that people still want to see a light goofy comedy these days! More proof that critics don't always know what they're talking about.
I went to see it again today and to my delight it had been moved to a larger screen with more seats available. I guess the theater was surprised, too!

I watched Transformers on the 4th and it was AWESOME! It probably helps that I love GM/Pepsi and they were big sponsors of the movie (gotta love the product placement), but I really enjoyed this movie. Before we saw it, whenever the previews came on tv, my husband would get all dorky and say "oh man, we have to go see that!"... I'd call him a dork and that was that... but we went and I had to put my foot in my mouth, because I loved this movie. It's in my all-time top 5 now and we're definitely going to buy it when it comes out on dvd

. Oh, and I think I drooled a little when the new camaro came on the screen.... just had to add that

To all people who saw Transformers and or other recent movies:
About the previews:
The very first one in Transformers- produced by J.J. Abrams, comes out january of next year-
It showed a going away party of some sort and then some sort of earthquake then things blowing up and suddenly the head of the statue of liberty lands in front of the partiers, it was shot really documentary-like with real looking footage like someone was taping the whole thing on thier camcorder...
Ring any bells to anyone?
I really want to find out more about it and the title!

i did see Sicko and everytime michael moore does a documentary there are alot of challenges that his facts and figures are wrong, and that he manipulates things and changes the context of it, and in some cases that may be true but what always hits me the hardest are the personal stories of people and this one has alot of those and if you walk out with dry eyes then you're stronger then me.
