Last night we watched Thank You for Not Smoking.

. . . . so well written, and Aaron Eckart was amazing. And the Packman was in it, (he nailed it, so well cast), as well as a (very) small part for Melora Hardin.

I got 2 new Netflix movies today: Napoleon Dynamite and For Me and My Gal. I watched Napoleon Dynamite this afternoon- I hadn't seen that movie for a year or 2 and I forgot how funny it was laugh.gif I'm going to watch the other movie tonight.

I LOVE this movie!! Tom absolutely hates it, and cannot understand what I find so funny about it. He just doesn't get me sometimes. Plus, I bought this pen that has like six sayings from the movie, so when I pay the bills, I always click it and start hysterically laughing and he just shakes his head at me.

"Are you drinking 1% milk because you think you're fat? Becuase you're not, you know. You could be drinking whole if you wanted." rolling.gif rolling.gif rolling.gif !!! I crack up everything I hear that line and then Tom calls me an idiot, which makes me laugh even more!!

Sorry, I just felt like talking about this movie before I went home for the day!!

Wedd listen to RC. I saw The Castle years and years ago, it's a gem! It was recently reviewed again on ebert and roper. If you haven't seen Muriels Wedding yet pick that one up as well. That's a total feel good movie and Toni colette has never been better

Yesterday I purchased two DVD's, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes & My Man Godfrey. I actually never watche My Man Godfrey. It was supposed to be on TCM a while ago but instead of airing it, they showed Run Silent, Run Deep. I looked at the synopsis & quotes over on imdb & I figured it's be good. Plus, I only paid $11.99 so even if I dislike it, it won't be that big of a loss. Anyway, I gotta finish Casnova Brown & Only Two Can Play before I watch My Man Godfrey.

4 days till the Simpsons film. Woo hoo!!!!

You will love My Man Godfrey. It's one of my favorite movies!! I actually just bought it for my birthday off amazon.com. Carol Lambard is wonderful and I think it's really funny how she made this movie with William Powell after they were divorced. It's a really great movie though!

^ You're right, I absolutely loved it! I had no idea that the two leads shared a romantic history until you said it. I kinda figured that there was something going on, judging by the way she looked at him. I've never seen anyone get lovestruck so quick. My favourite scene was when he stuck her in the shower & then turned on the water to wake her up rolling.gif. It was priceless seeing her jump around, gleefully shouting, "He loves me, he loves me!" repeatedly. The ending was adorable. He didn't even see it coming laugh.gif. I felt really bad for Carlo though. What was his relationship to the family? That left me confused but otherwise, I enjoyed it so much that the 93 minutes flew by so quickly!

Okay,

So I finally got a chance to take a look at Knocked Up? Did anyone else find this movie...not funny? I thought it sucked...except for Paul Rudd (who I just think is a good actor) and the cameos from various Office cast members.

I can count the amount of times I chuckled and basically just turned it off towards the end, since I had zero interest in seeing the outcome of everything.

We watched Equilibrium last night with Christian Bale. It was definitely an interesting movie - I think it's considered to be a sci-fi thriller. I just saw tis excellent film called Nine Lives by Rodrigo Garcia. He's such a fantastic director! The movie moves through the lives of nine women, some of the stories intertwine with each other and other characters reapear in diffrent stories. Every story is a one-shot, and it's incredible. If you like film, and apreciate great cinamatographie, or you don't know what to rent one night, you should rent it. The Simpsons Movie.

What am I missing here? Isn't this just a 90 minute version of what we see on TV all the time? I do like the Simpsons, I just don't understand how the movie is different from the show (other then length).
prettyinpink86
Well, everyone has different tastes in different subjects so it's ok not to be big on The Simpsons movie. I, however, have been looking forward to it ever since I heard about it. I'll probably catch it next week, when the crowds aren't as insane.

Yesterday I watched "Only Angels Have Wings" with Cary Grant & Jean Arthur. It was the first film I watched off my Cary Grant 5 DVD collection. Anyway, I liked it & it reminded me of "To Have & Have Not". My favourite line was "I'm hard to get, Geoff. All you have to do is ask me." which was delivered(sp?) by Bonnie Lee, who was played by Jean Arthur. My favourite scene was when Geoff was talking to Judy & he opens the door. All of a sudden, & outta nowhere Bonnie fell right in the room laugh.gif. She was either eavesdropping or about the open the door at the same time. And the ending was cute, with the double sided coin. I just wish there was a bit more romance & less plane flying but I guess that was the intention of the film. Oh, and the scene where Bonnie begged Geoff to stay broke my heart. Who knew she'd actually pull a gun.

Tonight it'll be "The Talk Of The Town", another Cary Grant & Jean Arthur film. I hope it's a better love story.
