Well, everyone has different tastes in different subjects so it's ok not to be big on The Simpsons movie. I, however, have been looking forward to it ever since I heard about it. I'll probably catch it next week, when the crowds aren't as insane.

I like this Simpsons so I 'may' be into the movie. I'm just really confused - Is it exactly like the tv show just longer? In that case, I'm not interested. But if there is something special about the movie, I'll check it out.

Like the Flintstones - The movie changed from a cartoon to live action, that was the difference. Is there any differences with the Simpsons?

You definitely should. It comes with two vintage postcards for every film. One has Cary Grant & his leading lady & the other is off the movie poster. Instead of it being 5 DVD cases, it has 5 discs, like season two of the Office. It has extra features & there's quotes on the inside from all 5 movies. Plus, when you open it there are 5 different Cary Grant faces & who doesn't want that wub.gif. I paid $67 with tax & if you were to buy those 5 films seperately, you'd pay well over $100.00.

I saw the collection that you have & I'm looking into getting it.

I just looked up the one you have on amazon.com. It's around $50- so I may get it on my next purchase. The 5 disks instead of cases is so much better. I've noticed they've just started doing that recently with the older movie boxed sets- like the Myrna Loy and William Powell Collection tongue.gif I pre-ordered mine the other day. It's suppose to come on August 9th. I can't wait!!

Wow, you got a better deal than me. I ordered mine off chapters.ca with my giftcard.

Speaking of those two, I seriously need to get the Thin Man series boxset. I love those two together & Mr & Mrs Charles. In fact, there's tons of other classic films that I need to add to my DVD collection. The ones I have consist of:

1. An Affair To Remember

3. Bringing Up Baby
4. Breakfast At Tiffany’s
5. Charade
6. Dark Passage
7. Funny Face
8. Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

The Simpsons Movie.

What am I missing here? Isn't this just a 90 minute version of what we see on TV all the time? I do like the Simpsons, I just don't understand how the movie is different from the show (other then length).

There's a scene at the beginning of the movie where Homer says exactly the same thing.

The good people over at Paramount have just released this photo of Johnny Depp in the upcoming movie ‘Sweeney Todd.’

Check out the Westminster Clock Tower looming in the distance and the blood seeping between the cracks of the wooden floorboards.

Johnny stars in the title role as a London man unjustly sent to prison who vows revenge. When he returns to reopen his barber shop, Sweeney Todd becomes the Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

The film is due out in December

Tomorrow I'm going to the simpsons

I saw pics of karen allen and harrison ford in the Indy Jones 4 movie. They are both so much older. It feels weird. I hope the movie doesn't suck

Hubby and I went to watch it (Rescue Dawn) last night and it was a really good movie smile.gif. There are some parts when it could've been better, but you just have to remember that it's based off of a true story of a real man's life, so I'm sure they tried to keep it accurate. Anyway, it was good and I recommend it smile.gif.

It's not the most historically accurate movie... so if you're concerned about that, you'll have to remember that it's just a movie. Other than that, it has some great action, great lines, and lots of cool effects. My hubby and I loved it, so I think you'll enjoy it smile.gif. As for Mrs RC, she might not like the gruesome parts and the "oracle" girl/nudity. The nudity was the only thing that I didn't really care for. There are some pretty bloody parts, but I didn't mind that at all. I dunno... she might like it, but if not, you'll have a really good movie to watch by yourself smile.gif. Enjoy!

I *love* that film. It made me so proud to be part Spartan! Normally I don't watch films like 300 but I'll watch anything that features my ancestors kicking some @ss!

The last film I watched was the 1937 classic, "Double Wedding" featuring William Powell & Myrna Loy, best known from the popular series, "The Thin Man". Anyway, I adored the film *so* much wub.gif. My favourite line was when Charles said, "I love you!" & Margit, totally stunned, replies, "I beg your pardon?". The way it's said was so sweet & the fact that the line was repeated was hilarious. Seriously, that movie was really good. The stylized fighting was so fun to watch. A good plot-line too.
I love the parts with the Queen, cause she is trying to defend herself and her husband. Women will like this movie, because of the heroine-quality in the Queen.
The battle scenes were fantastic and a visual marvel. Did I already say that? Well, its worth saying it again.
Can't wait to see it again. And again. And maybe another time. biggrin.gif

Ooh, nice choices! "My Favourite Wife" is a classic. One of my favourite scenes was when Cary Grant's character was trying to get away from his bride so he could be with his wife. "I need change!" "I need cigarettes!" Priceless rolling.gif.

The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer is a classic too. One of my favourite scenes was when they were doing all these races at the picnic grounds. One memorable scene went:

Richard Nugent: Man with the power.
Susan Turner: What power?
Richard Nugent: Power of hoodoo.

I own both those movies. I love them. My Favorite Wife is one of my favorites- I'd never seen it before I bought a Cary Grant box set. I bought the box set with both of those movies- it's got 3 other good ones also. I think you'd really like Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House. It's hilarious laugh.gif I think I saw it for the first time when I was about 7 and immediately liked it. Here's the link to that box set

Ooh! I might just have to get that. The more movies I see with Cary Grant, the more I love him (as an actor smile.gif). I remember seeing Father Goose when I was little and it was immediately one of my favorites. I'm excited to see the Bobby-Soxer movie smile.gif. Thanks for the link!

I'm going to take the kids to see Stardust when it comes out. It will probably suck but I do like Michelle Pfeiffer and Bobby De Niro blush.gif

spoiler synopis:

A young man named Tristran (Charlie Cox) tries to win the heart of Victoria (Sienna Miller), the beautiful but cold object of his desire, by going on a quest to retrieve a fallen star. His journey takes him to a mysterious and forbidden land beyond the walls of his village. On his odyssey, Tristran finds the star, which has transformed into a striking girl named Yvaine (Claire Danes). However, Tristran is not the only one seeking the star. Lord Stormhold's (Peter O'Toole) three living sons not to mention the ghosts of their four dead brothers all need the star as they vie for the throne. Tristran must also overcome the evil witch, Lamia (Michelle Pfeiffer), who needs the star to make her young again. As Tristran battles to survive these threats, encountering a pirate named Captain Shakespeare (Robert De Niro) and a shady trader named Ferdy the Fence (Ricky Gervais) along the way, his quest changes. He must now win the heart of the star for himself as he discovers the meaning of true love

Yeah, Stardust looks okay.
I like Claire Danes, so maybe I will check it out.
