Mrs RC picked up 300, Hot Fuzz and The Last Mimzy last night.

Unfortunetly movie night was cancelled due to misbehaving children.

"It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" was on last night. That movie kills me.

Oh, and I caught Ingmar Bergman being interviewed by Dick Cavett this morning on TCM. CLASSIC and wished I had seen it all.

I thought Stardust looked alright. The ads say it's in the same spirit of 'Alien' and '2001: A Space Odyssey". I LOVE Alien, and 2001 was interesting, so I might like Stardust.

Has anyone seen "Election" with Mathew Broderick and Reese Witherspoon? I saw it on Showtime over the weekend and it was amazing. I want to get it on DVD.

Uh oh, I think I missed the luggage info earlier. My hubby's luggage was lost twice in the past week and a half (one time each trip... to the same place). He got his back too, though (yay tongue.gif).

We got "Reno 911: Miami" and "The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer" in the mail today. Hubby didn't wanna watch either tonight, so I guess we'll save them for later this week. I'm excited about the bobby-soxer one... lots of you have said it's good, so I'm trusting you wink.gif.

Stupid question: what exactly is the benefit of having blu-ray? What does it do? How does it work? I'm quite content with regular tv, but I've seen a lot of "blu-ray" stuff lately, which means it's pretty popular... I'm assuming smile.gif. Anyone?

I've rented this movie, looks prety good called the darwin awards, supposed to be funny.

I also watched when a stranger calls, it was bad but it was something to watch. 300 was all out at the video store, guess I will have to wait.

Blu-ray is the most popular high-definition format. So if you buy DVD's you can get them in the regular format, or HD Blu-ray, and there's a competing HD format too, but I forget the name. It's like the old Beta -vs- VHS format war back in the '80's. Blu-ray is winning so far. It works exactly the same, but you need a machine that can display hi-def, as well as a tv with hi-def capability. Otherwise a Blu-ray disc will look just like a regular one on a regular tv. I'm sure there are lots of people here who can tell you more, (or correct any of my erroneous info.). tongue.gif

I finally got around to watching the Simpsons movie & it was definitely worth the wait. I don't think I've ever laughed harder. So many classic scenes & lines. One that stood out was when Homer made that chainsaw sound rolling.gif. Homer's pet pig was hilarious too. Frigging awesome. I'll definitely see it again.

Oh it's good alright... wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif (But keep in mind that I was 17 when I was crushing for Shirley in that movie. Had I seen that movie now, she'd be a little too young.).

If you see a chubby gruff guy about 50 fishing in Reno 911:Miami that's my buddy Jeff. He's a movie extra. He says he got some screen time in that film, but I haven't seen the movie yet.

We watched 'The Last Mimzy'. It was ok. Not bad, not great.

Everyone I know loved 'Aquatic Life' but I thought it was terrible.

I found the plot weak and I felt that they tried to compensate for the plot by having interesting characters. But I didn't really like any of the characters so the whole thing fell flat for me.

The wacky characters angle works for me if it's done really well (like Arrested Development) but 'Aquatic Life' was weak.

I can't wait until I go see The Bourne Ultimatum. Some people thought the sequel was a letdown but I didn't. Also, I didn't use to take Matt Damon too seriously back in the day but after the Bourne movies, The Departed and so on, I've really grown to respect him as an actor.

Other something weird about Hot Fuzz; It has what is probably the goriest, but funniest death scene I have ever seen on film. It's really disturbing but so absurd that you kind of have to giggle at it. It feels like they were testing us with that one.

I just finished watching this, and I'm sure I know of which death you are thinking of. laugh.gif

I liked the movie, though.

That's awesome that he got to work on the film. There were actually quite a few special effects in it

I watched Stick it tonite...OMG it was just awful but I oddly couldn't stop watching. Just like Bring it. I'm very ashamed.

Just saw Bourne yesterday!
AWESOME!
I think it was a lot better than the second. And, the second was pretty darn good!
Matt Damon is sooo sweet in this, how does he do this stuff?
The ending was probably the best ever. I don't know about you guys, but the audience in my theater was cheering and clapping and laughing. It was awesome!

I perusing the internet today and came across something intriguing. Apparantly Frank Darabont has directed a film adaption of Stephen King's short story "The Mist". It comes out this November. This could potentially be a great movie, especially since Darabont has a pretty good track record with bringing Stephen King stories to the big screen.

I saw The Simpsons movie yesterday, and saw this commerical a few minutes after sitting down. I wasn't expecting it, so I was very excited. Even though we already know when it's coming out, it was still kind of cool to see Jim/Pam/Michael/Dwight up on the big screen, if only for a few seconds.

I'm pretty sure I read this story, but I'm blanking on what it's about. I am a huge SK fan, and I have read a lot (though not all) of his stuff. What is this one about?

We saw Transformers last weekend so we had seen the previews to The Simpsons. Hubby asks Saturday what I want to do. I tell him I want to see The Simpsons. I get "the look". So I put my hands up to the ceiling like I'm holding something and sing "Spider Pig, Spider Pig." He cracked up and we went! It was PERFECT!

Who ever said stay for the credits, THANK YOU!
